《My Delirium Alcazar》145: Think about names and money
Advertisement

Maybe you could name the bus.
After putting your laundry box back in your room, you sit down and work on your videos more. You still have a lot of... uh... the basic structure of a video done. A two-parter still sounds like a good idea as far as playing the algorithm with minimal effort is concerned.
. . .
Aside from that, you're still pretty tapped for good ideas.
You glance over at the two items you checked out of the library: a cat magazine and a book about haunted houses.
You're good at over-analyzing shit, which isn't a quality anyone seems to want real bad.
Normally, playing video games (and over-analyzing the hell out of them) is how you escape from real life, but now your life is getting so ridiculous and inexplicable that it's hard to stop obsessing over that. What means what in Crush Souls just feels... pointless right now. Reality has gotten so bizarre that fantasy no longer feels fantastical enough to take you out.
And otherwise you don't know what to talk about. You don't know what your other strengths are, or what would be a good video (never mind a two-parter). Not that it really matters--you've only been successful in the sense that you can afford to eat, barely. The bar's not incredibly high for you and a quote-unquote good video, so who gives a shit what kind of video you're good at making.
You're good at being mad.
Being a coward.
"I don't know what I'm doing with myself."
Being a liar.
"I don't know who I am. I don't know what my dungeon would look like, or who my bosses would be. I don't know where I'm going in life, I don't..."
Being an idiot.
A Fool.
. . .
Cici was an egg, then a yolk--a representation of how she feels, like a blank slate or like she's incomplete. You briefly wonder what your form would be if you didn't keep your human body in the dream. ...Or your powers. Cici's a fighter, she wants to grow up, she can manifest weapons and get bigger

. . .
if it's possible to reverse engineer or deduce aspects of people by working backwards from their dream powers like that, then throwing in names with the ring could be really informative. You're not sure how consistent it would be, but you might learn something by calling on the powers of, say, Temperance Walsh. ...Rill Parsons is probably an alias.
...Temperance Walsh might also be an alias.
Shit, you could just exchange names with random people. Maybe you'll get lucky and someone's a big, scary tarot like The Tower and they'll give you OP powers or something.
Hmm.
The Fool.
...You could try to be funny.
Like a... a blooper reel or satire or something. Something.
You have not tried your hand at much comedy.
That's SOMETHING.
You hear a small knock, followed by the front door opening.
"Aaanyone home?," Cici asks.

"That is one orange-ass shirt," you blurt out.
"And that's--" Cici pauses. She makes a face. "--Uh, a tanktop. D'I miss anything?"
"Weeell--" Might as well just "Franklin's in jail for breaking and entering and the bail's five hundred bucks."
Cici makes a different face. "...Was he breakin' into a bank, because there's no way bail's $500. Maybe the fine he could pay INSTEAD of going to jail but not bail--that doesn't make a lot of sense. That's like... felony breaking and entering. I don't even think we have felony breaking and entering in this state. Are you sure it's not a burglary charge?"
You shrug. "Hell if I know. You wanna be the one to explain how it works to the cops?"
There's a brief pause, like she's mulling it over.
"The way this week's been going," Cici finally says, "I might be the one to explain it to them yeah."

Please note: the Sexual Content tag is there due to a single brief plot-relevant scene, which has a warning at the beginning. For other details, read the full description below. Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 5 x 5*, 2 x 4.5*, 1 x 0.5* During a blackout, a frail and ragged old woman stops to ask for a glass of water from a backyard barbecue party. Given a good supper instead, she looks around the group, and tells them, "Be who and what you truly are." Days later, seven of the people from the barbecue find themselves drawn into a trap laid by a pair of wizards and their accomplices, who kidnap them into a bubble reality. All seven, who have known each other all their lives, are informed that they are not in fact entirely human: they have active fae blood, due to a series of conditions culminating with the blessing of the elderly fae woman. The transformation into fae form comes as a shock: all seven, whether originally female or male, find themselves now unreasonably beautiful women. More urgent even than that, though, is their captivity. Getting back to the real world is a higher priority than this metamorphosis that rapidly begins to feel natural... but this is only the first step, as the diverse types of fae blood they carry begin to surface. With no resources except themselves, how can they escape this prison? If they succeed, how can they possibly reclaim their lives? Just how many other faelings have been kidnapped, anyway, and what happened to them? And is there a way to make sure that their captors never put anyone else through this? Back in the real world, Kayla, who learned long ago to trust her gut instincts, is absolutely certain that something is very wrong. The pattern in the list of missing friends is easy to spot, but makes no sense at all. Then a young woman turns up at the backyard gate who knows more than she should, and even though her explanation makes even less sense, every instinct tells Kayla that Riley is her only way to get them back. If they're not quite what they were, well, that's a bridge to cross later... Just a little note: I'm a big believer in endings that are upbeat but not candy-coated, and not a fan of grim-and-gritty or of glamorized violence. These are adults in a difficult situation. However, no one gets raped, and the physical violence is, all things considered, fairly minimal. There is some harassment, sexual and otherwise, and also some mild restraint and mild verbal abuse. Complicating factors are generally wizardly or fae in nature. If I need to warn you about gender in this being all over the map, some of it reality-based rather than fantasy-based, highly diverse sexuality, or that there is (especially later) some indirect fetish/BDSM imagery and honest character discussion, then you probably should just avoid everything I write. :-) Also available on Scribble Hub.

Beast Dao Cultivator
Hundreds of thousands of years ago, the world was at the peak of its era in the pursuit of power and knowledge. People ascended to the heavens and returned, walking amongst mortals. Great Buddhists, Evil Demons, Heavenly Celestials, Unfathomable Sages, Riders of Grand Majestic Beasts, Beloved Beings of Nature. Countless kinds of beings rose and fell. Countless kinds of method to ascend were known but a sudden change in the world changed that. Pandemonium spread throughout the world and countless grand races and even grander sects and organizations fell. The huge surge had come to an end as each race went to one place or another to hide, higher beings ran to the higher realms to hide from the destruction of the lower realm. Countless deaths in all races happened and many are said to have been pushed to extinction. Today, the world has regressed to what can be called a mediocre shadow of what was once a massive power that ruled the world. The races have each slowly crawled out of their holes and slowly spread their numbers once more, rediscovering what was once lost. New sects were born, clans spread, nations rise and war once more appeared. Still the catastrophe had not only drastically changed the world but the energy of nature. Where once all kinds of power filled the air all over the massive planet no longer did this power appear. Instead the grand energies seemed as if something had snuffed a huge amount of it, now the areas were each energy appeared each possessed different kinds of energy. One region could simply have Qi, another could have Qi where each area within a region had specific element to it, there was mana which permeated the air in other regions, Spiritual force in others, infernal energy in another and so each massive region slowly claimed their own resource and their growth slowly diverted only towards these energies. Only there was one type of being that could survive and grow in each and every kind. The most mysterious which were all called Riders. Beings who were one with their mounts born for each other and cultivated together.

I initially wanted to make it shorter but minimum 100 words for description so here is author note to hopefully use up the 100 words XD. Btw this is the first description i have ever wrote so i don't expect it to be good but hopefully its acceptable. :D
