Chapter 27: A Sticky Situation
We resumed our partying after our little ordeal and Foxy’s mysterious errand she had to do. She only indicated to me briefly that it was to do with paying off the debt. She wouldn’t say how large it was nor why she owed it. Pushing further would have attracted more attention from Emi and Foxy didn’t ask much about what we did either so I thought it was fair.
After having our breakfast and it was decided that Foxy would have first pick on which mission we would do since Foxy and I have decided the first two. We peered round the board curious on which one Foxy would pick. In the end she picked a mission that was harder than the previous ones. A rank 3 mission, she said it would challenge us but I thought more because it was a fairly high gold reward. I kept quiet as I didn’t want to have Emi overly concerned but prepared myself just in case for a more difficult quest.
Quest Rank 3:
Clear out the nearby cave which has been filled with spiders. Each normal giant spider is worth 2 gold each. The queen if found is worth 10 gold
It didn’t give any numbers or any indication on the environment that we would be fighting in so I thought it would hard to prepare. Nevertheless it was Foxy’s turn to choose and she had chosen this one.
I reasoned that it was only a rank harder than the goblin one we had just taken and we didn’t have too much trouble. That was considering even when Foxy decided to do the whole mission almost singlehandedly.
“Alright then lets get this done!” Keen to start Emi seemed in good spirits with everyone back together again.

“Yeah lets do this.” Foxy smiled mysteriously
“It shouldn’t be too hard but it is still rank 3, as long as we work together we won’t get into too much trouble I reckon.” I said perhaps tempering the mood to make sure they were completely on guard.
“Definitely as long as we work together nothing can stop us.” Emi grinned and locked arms with Foxy and I and we walked together out of the doors.
It wasn’t as long a travel as compared to the Goblin mission we had done before it was more of a clear and kill type of mission as compared to the guard, wait, and ambush mission that the Goblin was. This mission was harder than just fighting against harder monsters, this is because we are fighting in their territory. Territory they are familiar with. I briefed and warned the other two along the way about the potential dangers. Foxy seemed to half listen and nod but I could tell her attention was elsewhere. Emi on the other hand was very attentive and seemed to really pumped to fighting together with everyone.
As we saw the cave I motioned for us to stop and prepare a plan. As I was about to set out a plan, I saw Foxy running into the cave with her daggers at the ready.
“Come back Foxy! It’s too dangerous to go alone!” I shouted trying to convince to turn back. However she soon disappeared into view.
Emi and I ran in abandoning any sort of plan that we could have come up with as we didn’t want Foxy to be alone in the cave. I could see that the spiders had been here for a long time. Spider webs and carcasses were littered everywhere. It reminded me of the Lord of the Rings where Frodo enters the Spiders Cave. It had that eerie look. As we got further and further in it got darker and darker until we were almost unable to see in front of us.

“Foxy! Foxy!” Emi and I whispered trying to call her out.
“AHHHHHHHH!” I heard a scream and it seemed to resemble Foxy’s voice.
I motioned Emi to use the Status Tag trick we had used in the Cave of Dark and Light and it shone a small circle around us.
The darkness in this cave seemed to be alive, clinging onto us whenever our backs were turned. Whispering sweet words around us. I knew it was just my imagination but it scared me nevertheless. We quickly tried to follow the voice but it seemed that we were constantly misguided. The voice had been bouncing off the wall so it had deceived us.
“Foxy!” we shouted trying to perhaps find where she was, “Where are you?”
“I’m in something sticky,” She cried out, “Uhhh its everywhere I can’t move from it.”
“Can you describe what is around you?”
“I can’t move! I’m stuck in this spider web. I can feel them coming! Help!”
“Don’t worry we’ll find you.” I really had no idea how to find her as our Status Tags were really giving us a pitiful light around us.
What do we do? We had no other light sources, a shortcoming on my part I must admit. We should have packed them…ARGGGGH… forget that we have to work with what we’ve got. How do we find Foxy?
Emi noticed the trouble look on my face and she whispered, “You can do it, calm yourself down, you got us out of that other cave you can get us out of this mess too.”
I breathed in a few breaths and tried to calm myself down trying to ignore the screams from Foxy even if my whole body willed myself to try to run and find the voice.
Breath.
Breath.
Take deep breaths, calm myself down
Wooooooosaaaaaa.
Use everything at my disposal. And suddenly it clicked. I knew exactly what to do to find them.
I came back to reality as I heard Foxy scream out,
“HELP EMI AND CLOVER! YOU HAVENT LEFT HAVE YOU?! I SEE ONE OF THE SPIDERS HE’S COMING. HELP ME!!!!!!”

Exuperius [DISCONTINUED]
Terravest. The northernmost continent of the world known by many names of legend, but is most commonly reffered to as Athora, has, for eons, served as the land of exiles. Human criminals, dark elves, grayskinned orcs and dwarves that preffer mining with machinery over the traditional pickaxe alike, have come to call this half-frozen hellhole their home. It is a land of great strife, calamity and crisis, where one legendary tale ends only to begin the next, heroes fall down and villains find themselves thrown into lava. Around seventy years ago, a legendary figure appeared out of seemingly nowhere and conquered three human nations, forming a kingdom worthy enough of being called a small empire. However, at the eve of his heirs ascension, the legend breathed his last, leaving this same bloated, chaotic realm without the pillar that kept it together. Already, the carrion nobility, still spiteful for being denied their "rightful" place below the sun, rise up and gather at the court, each eager to consolidate their own power in these troubled times. Tempers flare, power is exercised without restraint and no one expects the hedonistic prince to succeed at keeping the realm together. Alas, as is often the case with such tales, not everything seems to be as it might at first appear and the vain lords of the realm may yet come to regret their carrion will. --- The Content Warnings are there for a good reason. ---
