Chapter 4:
Kinzo pinned by the gaze of the beautiful Akari is helpless to move. Unlike the vicious stare of a beast that puts your hair on end. Her eyes were inviting, mesmerizing, and as blue as the ocean. It seems that her curiosity had gotten the better of her, and due to such; She had found herself balanced over a previously asleep Kinzo. Caught in the act; Akari stands up as if nothing happened slightly embarrassed. Taking a seat next to his bed; she shot up a conversation.
“Ahh… Kami-sama. There was something I wanted to say.” (Akari)
Scratching his eyes and leaning up to give Akari his attention; Kinzo asks:
“Was there some.. “Yawwwnnn” something you needed Akari-san?”(Kinzo)
“Uhno.. Kami-sama, I just wanted to thank you for everything you’ve done thus far! And apologise for the behavior of the ones who approached us today in the city…
I’m well aware that you have no preference for the races. But.. Please do not think poorly of angels from what they have done to you!”(Akari pleads in a knightly fashion.)
A little tickled by her display; Kinzo chuckled and decided to take this as an opportunity to partake in more of his “divine knowledge”.
“Fear not Akari, I have known for a long time the darkness that resides within the mortal soul. Although this darkness, is actually only the space in which I provide that soul to grow; many seem to focus on the emptiness. That is what drives them to do such things; and thus I cannot hate them for it.”(Kinzo Bluffs)
Amazed by his words, Akari could not help but worship him for the next few moments. He was finally feeling refreshed; being treated as an actual god after being alone for so long. Kinzo then stood up and looked at the clock.
“Only 5:30AM huh? Well now that I’m awake let’s get ready for the day.”(Kinzo said rolling his shoulders)
“As you wish Kami-sama”(She replied very stiffly.)
Standing up and leaving his bedside; Akari left to the kitchen and prepared some coffee. This time she has made it perfectly without issue and had handed it to Kinzo as soon as he sat at the table.
“Thank you, Akari”(Kinzo said sipping his coffee)
Looking once more into the orb on the table, Kinzo had manipulated the viewpoint to that of a person on a street. Resetting the waypoint to Dalhurst so he would not fall from the sky twice in a row. Looking at Akari he had thought of a wonderful plan.
“Akari, I will give you your first mission”(Kinzo)
Her expression more serious; It seems she was ready for whatever order he had prepared. Standing at attention, she answered:
“Sir... yes sir!”(Akari said wondering if the title fit Kinzo or not)
“You Akari, Strongest of the Valkyrie students will be the first to make my presence known on the planet of Ielara!”(Kinzo Declared)
A large burden was placed upon Akari, and visually you could tell that she understood that. Although the truth is that Kinzo simply wanted someone to help him more easily transfer into society. That being said, he thought that he could make use of a specific power that had interested him online. Walking over to Akari, she had the instinctive reflex to kneel to Kinzo. Placing his hand over her head he spoke:
“Akari, It is my wish that you will be my messenger to the city of Dalhurst, and in accepting this task, you will be part of my new order. Do you accept?”(Kinzo speaks in a way to inspire her)

“I do”(She replies without hesitation)
“Very well then.”(Kinzo answered with a large grin)
Appraising Akari for a moment, Kinzo decided upon two methods in which he could call her his angel. One a contract of master and slave, two; association through visual means. Kinzo opted to go for both options.
{{Contract Servent}}
{{Color Change}}
{{Lesser Blessing: Hear the words of Kami(Kinzo)}}
Mentally reciting his abilities, Kinzo’s hand lights up in response. Soon after the light formed a small ball that slowly floated onto Akari. From the look of it; It felt quite warm and pleasant. However soon after, a crest had appeared on her hand. Black in color, the crest represented the divine tree in a medallion. Looking down at the crest, Akari began to slightly tear up.
“Oi oi, what’s wrong.”(Kinzo said worrying if that type of magic is considered slave magic)
“No. it’s nothing… I just never thought my dream of being chosen would come true so quickly. It was only 18 years ago when I decided to devote myself to Kami-sama”(Akari)
{{@#$%^, 18 years of loyalty without my knowing. This girl is serious...}}(Kinzo)
“You’ve done well to impress me.”(Kinzo said laughing)
Although Kinzo was mostly just hoping for some help on the matter, Akari had made this her personal mission and intended on fulfilling it in its entirety. Looking at the face of the man she now worshipped as her creator, she was tasked with his introduction to the world. No easy task.
“I will get it done Kami-sama.”(Akari smirked in the face of the challenge)
“Then I will stay here, and do some research of my own; while you go about your business on the surface.”(Kinzo)
{{Gate: Dalhurst City}}(Kinzo)
Kinzo raised his arm pointed to a newly made portal to Dalhurst. He then snaps his fingers and prepares a lunch and several items for Akari to bring while on her mission. It included a set of limited use magic scrolls that Akari could use. It seemed that Kinzo could apply any of his powers to any person or item as he saw fit; Blessings in a way, but enchantments in another. He concluded that it was convenient and that he didn’t need to categorize it.
“I wish you luck, Valkyrie.”(Kinzo holds his hand out for Akari before she steps out into the portal.)
As Akari steps through the portal it vanishes behind her. She stands in the center of the plaza that she had landed with Kinzo, prior.
[{“I will be watching your progress.”}](Kinzo -> Akari)
With the sound of Kinzo’s voice resounding through her head she gulped in fear of divine punishment. Walking out of the market district to the north side of the city. Akari arrived at the "Order of Idione"; A church like religious body that also acted as the governing system of Dalhurst. After what seemed like hours, Kinzo sat patiently as Akari sought audience with the city council.
“I wonder if she’s going to be okay”(Kinzo asked)
Looking downwards for most of her time, hands pressed on her thighs; She seemed nervous to meet the city elders. Seeing this peeked Kinzo’s focus.
“Yep, she seems really troubled… Perhaps I should help her out a bit when she gets in there.”(Kinzo)
The time came. The elders of Dalhurst had gathered with an emergency summons to the city hall. It was a large institution with a circular testimonial stage. The elders sat themselves on an elevated level facing inwards to a lone, wooden podium. The room, shaped in marble was glossy and extremely well maintained. Akari walked up to the podium and began to address the crowd. There seemed to be over 100 elders that had established a name for themselves in Dalhurst, all of which were wondering as to why they were summoned. Among them, a counsel of 7, out ranked the others; seated directly in front of Akari on a set of thones.

“Dear Elders of Dalhurst! My name is Akari, from the school of martial angels. I have come to make a report!”(Akari)
The crowd starts to murmur, doubt fills the room as to what could be so important to collect them all. From them, seated dead center; the wisest looking among the front row had leaned forward.
“What is it young Valkyrie?”(the wise elder council member had asked)
Taking a moment to respond, she gathered her strength and announced the following:
“KKK-k-kk-Kami-sama has... The God of Creation Kinzo-sama has finally appeared!”(Akari cried with all her heart)
The crowd was stunned by her declaration. But then their surprise turned to disbelief. The masses chuckled and mocked Akari as she stood there at the podium. She quickly loses her calm, and starts to rave on about the last two days that she had been with Kinzo. Although despite her pleas, the crowd continued to mock her; that is except for the man who had asked the initial question. He was not laughing at all.
“Kinzo-sama has descended you say? And is there any proof of that?”(The wise elder asked.)
Remembering instantly what Kinzo had given her she pulled out the lunchbox, and cloth bag filled with 3 magic scrolls.
“These are items that Kami-sama has bestowed for my mission”(Akari)
Unpacking the bag, Akari laid out a normal looking lunch filled with white rice and vegetables. The magic scrolls were that of very common spells; Create water, Fireball, and Lesser heal. When displaying them to the crowd she was greeted with more laughter.
“That!? That’s a god’s divine gift?!”(A voice cried out from the crowd)
“Yea! Is that it? I could fly over to the human city and get that myself tomorrow”(Another stated.)
Viewing the scene through his orb, Kinzo started to wonder if he should have given more overpowered gifts.
“Well I did pack those with you’re travel in mind. Create water for a drink with lunch, Fireball to heat it back up if it’s cold, and heal If you ran into some trouble”(Kinzo said apologetically)
“Is that all there is?”(the wise elder said slowly losing interest)
Panicking for a short moment then collecting herself she addresses the entire audience.
“All of you know now. That I speak the truth, I am an Envoy of Kinzo-sama and that is proven by this crest!”(Akari declared while raising her left hand for all to see.)
“Hmmmm, That is indeed the divine tree’s crest, although how is anyone to tell if it is authentic? Tell me once more what does this Kami-sama look like?”(The wise man asked)
“He was a tall black haired black eyed man without wings”(Akari stated)
“A human!?!? Have you gone mad!? Like god would be a human.”(A random antagonizing voice cried out.)
“Black hair you say? I hear there was a sighting yesterday of a man with such a description in the market district.”(the wise man inquired)
Nodding confidently Akari made it clear that it was indeed her and Kinzo that were in the market district. Although if the wisest elder of the council could'nt believe Akari’s words; it seems that she would require some more assistance.
“Enough of this make believe! I’m leaving!”(Said one of the council before standing up from his throne)
Kinzo who was watching from above had spotted what seemed like a stalemate.
“I guess I will help her out just a little bit.”(Kinzo said snapping his fingers)
Just before the elders had begun to leave, Kinzo decided that he had to intervene or lose this chance altogether:
[{Akari, I want you to walk into the light, okay?}](Kinzo -> Akari)
“Kami-sama!? I can hear you?”(Akari said with a surprised face.)
A column of holy light appeared right in front of the podium feet away from Akari. Seeing the display, all the elders had turned their attention to the bright light.
“Okay Kami-sama!”(Akari said loudly)
Walking into the column of light, Akari was met by unparalleled warmth. Shining brightly the light gathered together around her body.
“What’s happening!?(Asked one of the council)
Watching the magnificent scene, the glowing body slowly came into view as the remaining light collected into a ring above her head. A newly formed halo had adorned Akari, her wings had changed in color and length. They now held true black feathers and spanned twice as far as they had before. Looking at herself she realized the many changes, and touched the halo which was in all aspects, magnetized to her head.
“You there! What did you do!?”(The party of disbelievers had turned to those of a furious mob.)
“SILENCE!!!”(The wisest man screams over the others)
Relieving himself of his seat he hovers down to where Akari was standing in her new found glory. In an instant he bowed down to Akari with a few meters distance and displayed his trust in his faith. Unbelieving in the original story, but now; the crowd was astonished to see the divine figure of Akari.
“I understand Akari-sama, You are to be the first of his Valkyrie.”(the wise elder)
The group of now confused elders were once again shocked by the turn of events. The council’s eldest had conceded to her, and as such the respect of many others followed. One by one, the elders hovered down and bowed in worship to the black winged angel who was adorned with a halo of light. Raising his head for a moment the eldest and wisest spoke once more.
“My name is Ichki Vandril, Only one who has been blessed by the God of creation could acquire both dark and light element features with such grace. I apologise for my earlier rudeness.”(Ichki)
Despite being the eldest angel his appearance was that of a 50 year old human’s. Short white hair neatly cut, with a short white beard. His expressions were calculating, but it seems that his faith was of great personal importance. After living a life of over 3 milenia he was still active in the community; with such a noble background it took spectator Kinzo’s interest.
{{He may actually make a good ally. I think i’ll go talk to him next time I go to Dalhurst.}}(Kinzo thought.)
The madness in the city’s council hall had died down, at which point Akari had been lead to a smaller room accompanied by the 7 council elders. Of the 7, most were attentive; except the one who had declared his leave from the earlier concession.
“Who is that?”(Akari asked Ichki)
“Oh that is Dulan, He’s been on the council about 20 years and still thinks he’s the boss”(Ichki whispered to Akari)
“Does he now….?”(Kinzo said to himself with a smirk as he watched the whole situation)
{{Conjure: Popcorn}}(Kinzo)
Munching down on popcorn, Kinzo watched the spectacular drama unravel, as well as scroll through his skills menu in the meantime.
~~
[2 hours later]
[10:10AM]
Akari had wrapped up with the Dalhurst nobles and had agreed on preparations for Kinzo’s arrival. The occasion in mind was a gigantic banquet that would be held throughout the city. Although it was a large spectacle, Kinzo didn’t seem to mind much because it was for the sake of creating his first followers, the angels. After Akari had left the council hall, she unwrapped the lunch that she had been given by Kinzo. After a single bite she found herself reminded of her experiences; blushing and thinking of Kinzo who was sleeping peacefully earlier that morning. Then she gave off a big sigh.
[{Well done Akari}] (Kinzo -> Akari)
“Kami-sama!?”(Akari asked)
[{Are you ready to return home?}](Kinzo -> Akari)
“Home…?”(Akari)
[{Of course, did you think I would leave you there? Hold on one second.}](Kinzo->Akari}]
Akari eyes start to well up with tears; when she realizes that she will be living with Kinzo from now on. Of course tears of joy.
Kinzo back in the apartment had his hand facing an open space and spoke:
"Summoning Jutsu!"(Kinzo)
A large cloud of smoke was produced, Akari appeared in front of Kinzo; but unexpectedly Kinzo’s hand was once again pressed dead center between Akari’s chest. Quickly noticing before she did, he removed his hand. Akari still teary eyed realized where she was after a moment and gave Kinzo a large hug.
“Kami-sama I did my best.. They want you to come next week during the celebration.”(Akari looked up at Kinzo)
Realizing the situation, Kinzo began to pat her head to praise her. As a result the halo and her wings had returned to their former state. Akari was surprised and also a little disappointed. But when Kinzo explained that such things should only be brought out as a trump card; She quickly agreed afterward.
The two of them enjoyed a leisurely afternoon and evening together; this time Kinzo prepared the food and surprised Akari with otherworldly curry. She was a little freaked out by the spiciness but really enjoyed it after that. Finally Akari was captivated with the television which still played Earth programming, While Kinzo layed nearby on the couch looking through his skills menu.
~~
[9:05PM]
Akari looks up at Kinzo getting his attention.
“Kami-sama.... Thank you for picking me.”(Akari said looking at Kinzo affectionately)
{{I didn’t really pick you, you kind of just showed up…}}(Kinzo)
“Well. I’m glad to have Akari here.”(Kinzo said earnestly)
The two of them fell asleep soon after, Akari snuck into Kinzo’s room in the middle of the night. But this time she simply used him as an arm pillow.
Kinzo woke up later that morning to the sight of the beautiful sleeping angel; But conflicted with her joyful appearance was unable to escape her surprisingly strong grips.

Shadowrun: Blake Island School of Magic
It's a high tech, low life. It's the Seattle Metroplex in 2074. It rises like a steel and concrete cancer out of the earth. Poverty is rampant, corruption is everywhere, crime is out of control, corporations basically control everything, the old United States is fractured, magic has come back and now it turns out that humanity has been joined by elves, dwarves, orks and trolls. The old world ended but the rent is still due. Life goes on. You'd be surprised what people can adapt to, especially if they don't have a choice. One of the places where life goes on is just west of Seattle. Surrounded by the waters of the Puget Sound is an island. On that island is the Blake Island School of Magic. A decade ago it was known for producing some of the most talented awakened in the world. That reputation was hijacked by the wealthy corporate elite who now park their teenage children there. And since it's a boarding school, their parents mostly forget about them. Three young people, who are certainly not wealthy or elite, are chosen this year to attend this school of magic in hopes of revitalizing their reputation for talent. One from the ash drifts of the Puyallup Barrens, one from the most densely populated slum hive in the world and one from prison. This is their story. -- This story is set in the Shadowrun universe. If you're not familiar with Shadowrun, it mostly tells the stories of deniable mercenaries called shadowrunners in a cyberpunk dystopia. Instead of telling another story solely about shadowrunners, this story will tell the tale of young people navigating a world that is indifferent to them at best and actively hostile at worst. Shadowrunners will be in the story and we'll see them operate, but they won't be its main focus. This story originally began in 2017 as a passion project and continues to this day on the Somethingawful.com forums. The unedited version is over a million words strong. There are currently seven books in this series and I am currently in the process of editing them.
