《AS LONG AS IT'S INTERESTING, ISN'T IT FINE TO LIVE AS A DUNGEON? (Hiatus)》Chapter 7 : A Breather

This is harder than I thought. I was never good at meditation, but I figured with being able to see and interact with mana so easily in my dungeon, I’d be able to move it at least a little bit. But right now all I can sense is vaguely something inside of me that is probably mana. I spent the last few days on this and this is as far as I got huh. Well, I guess even people taught by professional mages have a hard time on this step. Although, that does make me appreciate how much hard work Saeri must have put into it.
Still, just trying to move mana all day makes my body feel all sore. Luckily, a good little distraction has come in. That small herd of fat little antelope? The kitties have learned their habits. The alpha male seems to be quite territorial. We can use that to lure it into a trap. Besides, it’s got pretty white and brown striped hide. Unfortunately, it tends to just ignore smaller things like my kitties here, so I’ll have to go out myself. Well, it’s fine. I’m sure we’ll get through it safely.
Name : Eita
Race : Dungeon
Soul : Human
Level : 5
Mana Pool : 500
Mana Regen : 20 / hour
Dungeon Points : 5
Those two adventurers coming in gave me a nice little boost in mana and surprisingly a dungeon point. Most of the mana went into expanding and creating the second floor. The DP I saved because better things tend to cost exponentially more DP. Besides, if it’s not urgent, then discovering it yourself is plenty of fun too. 5 points doesn’t get me much anyways.
Ah, that wasn’t the point. Right. I create quite a few rabbits with strengthened muscles and nails. The territory of the fat antelope is too far away for me to extend my dungeon territory to right now. That means if I want to dig traps, I’ll have to do it the old fashioned way. They’ll all be coming back at night since going out of my territory means they can’t replace food and sleep with mana.

[Saeri] Uwa. So fluffy! Why are you making so many rabbits today?
[Eita] Because it’s finally time to set up our trap against the fat antelope.
The plan is to set up the trap a bit outside its territory. There’s a grove of trees that should be perfect. It shouldn’t bother us if we do. Then the cats and I will taunt it and get it’s attention. Once it’s angered, it will hopefully chase us out. We’ll lead it into the grove, and into the traps.
Trap 1 will be simple, a small pitfall trap. If it so much as sprains an ankle it’s our victory. Of course it’s likely not that easy. Right after it will be trap 2, a series of wires to tangle up it’s horns and legs. If even that doesn’t work, I should at least be able to get a little distance. We’ll also have a noose-like trap right around head height. If it runs into that full speed, it should catch on his neck or horns. There will be another pit trap right after that so hopefully it’ll either fall in or even better just die. If even just one of these works we’ll be in the clear so it should be fine with this many.
As for the material, well, let’s say being a dungeon really is sort of like cheating. While on earth wire would be the go to choice, I don’t have access to any metals yet. Instead, I have access to incredible amounts of spider silk that I can create. See? Cats leaving dead spiders outside your door IS them looking out for you. With the way I can create and braid spider silk, they come out to be very very strong. Possibly stronger than steel, although not nearly as stiff.

Note to self: make some cute silk pajamas. Oh. Maybe a qi pao for Saeri. Or maybe . . .
[Saeri] E-Eita!
[Eita] AH. Ahem. Anyways. Spider silk traps will work just fine. I wish some of these spiders were the poisonous kinds but we haven’t found any that were and I don’t have time to figure out how to get poisons inside of them without killing them yet. Instead we’ll coat the kitty claws with some paralytic plant mush. It shouldn’t affect them since it’s only useful if it gets inside your bloodstream.
[Saeri] Well this has always been a pretty safe area. Not many dangerous animals at all.
[Eita] We just have to make do then. Anyways I’ll make a little wheelbarrow thing to help carry it back so bring it over once the kitties come get you ok?
[Saeri] Ok… Be safe out there.
[Eita] I will. With all the planning, what could go wrong?
