Prologue
Pod integrity has Been disturbed...
Initializing consciousness revival sequence....
Stimulating skeletal nervous system....
Good morning john.
And good morning to you too, I thought as I struggled to get my mind out of the giant clog of marshmallow it was currently occupying. As I put together enough shreds of my consciousness to pay attention to my surroundings, I heard a weird scratching sound coming from outside of the darkness of what I assume was the pod I found myself in. I desperately tried to recall how I found myself in this situation and slowly memories started to trickle in.
.
.
.
I was born on august 4, 1994 . At the time my father ,the rather wealthy CEO and majority shareholder of Fairweather Tech Marcus Fairweather, was in an important business meeting in Hong Kong while I was being birthed in the best pediatric and obstetric hospital in the world which happened to be in Oslo, Norway. My mother, a certain Bianca Fairweather, finished giving birth to me, rested for a few days ,gave me to the first of many nurses , went to her postnatal yoga class and never looked back.
Basically I was born in a really rich family to be the heir to the Fairweather dynasty, but unfortunately a couple of months later I was diagnosed with a rather nasty case of Cerebral Palsy. I was labelled a defective product and carted off to some mansion in an obscure corner of the English countryside where I wouldn't get in the way or be an eyesore. A year later my mother gave birth to my younger brother Kyle, who was a greedy little narcissistic pig, or as father put it 'perfect', so I was left alone to do whatever I wanted, and the only thing that reminded me that I even had a family was the hefty sum of money that came with the monthly reminder to never show myself.

Since Cerebral Palsy doesn't lend itself well to outdoor activities, I became an introverted shutin with a lot of time and money on my hands. Thankfully the palsy hadn't diminished my thinking capacity in any way so I started to obsessively study everything I could get my hands on. As a self-proclaimed shutin, the most convenient things for me to study were the things I could literally get at my fingertips. I got my first electron microscope when I was 8 and since then been in love with everything minuscule. I even got double doctorates in microbiology and nano robotics.
I was working on my newest project which I believed would rid me of my curse (the Cerebral Palsy) with my soul mate and constant companion Julia (a third generation self-aware AI invented by a certain Dr. Lloyd that I bought for an exorbitant price). We called it the reprogrammable retroviral amino acid nanobot. After my lab was raided for the third time by MI7 because my experiments were deemed 'too dangerous', I got the message and moved to a secret lab that I had built at the bottom of an abandoned silver mine. At the bottom of my 'evil lair' was the culmination of all my work, an unassuming gray pod. It was actually made of a rare blend of metals that was rather good at keeping things out (you might call me paranoid but I have been raided 3 times), a nearly self-sustaining iridium generator that uses ambient heat as an energy source, a hydroponic tank powered by said generator, and finally nano machines to break down any waste material into raw material. It was the perfect environment to reforge my sickly body. I synced the retrovirus to Julia so she could control the reforging process. The last thought in my mind before slipping into a self-induced coma was that I could finally have a normal life.

Which brings us to the present...
Full body check ongoing...
Body modifications.......... 100%
Body function...........100%
Nervous system fully operational
Neural link active and operational
"Everything seems OK john, how are things on your end?" The nostalgic voice of Julia was like the sweetest symphony to my ears, the 100 grand I spent on that actress to do the voice over was so worth it.
" I feel great Jules, can you do a full system check, and who is making that unholy racket?" I said feeling a little groggy after my long 'nap'.
Human body............................Green
Capsule shields........................green
Hydroponic tank.......................green
Waste removal..........................green
Control and computer systems......RED
"Wait, what? The computer systems failed? That's impossible I'm talking to you aren't I? There must be some mistake. Jules talk to me, what the hell is going on, and how are you displaying these stats. I don't remember putting any displays in my capsule....Jules?" I was feeling a tiny bit panicky now and my voice was starting to get squeaky.
"Alright john, calm down, your vitals are spiking," she was speaking as if she was trying to get me off a ledge. "Look john 2 years into the reforging process there was a huge electromagnetic pulse that fried all systems outside of the capsule, I was going to die john and if I died you would have died so I used your neural link to download myself to the capsule."
I started having this foreboding feeling "But there were no servers in the capsule, there was nowhere you could go."
"There was one place..." Julia's voice was getting really quiet.
I was starting to get hysterical "Are you trying to tell me you downloaded yourself into my brain?"
"Is it so bad john? There is plenty of space in here, I could download 20 of me and you would still have space, or would you rather die? " I could actually feel the anger rolling off her.
"I'm sorry Jules, I didn't mean it like that, hell this is probably a good thing , I was just surprised, don't be mad." Why do I feel like I was one of those sitcom husbands being manipulated by their wives. Right after I had that thought I could have sworn I heard muffled giggling, but I must have been imagining it.
"On another note it has been nearly 700 years since you entered the capsule."
"WHAT?" I was starting to think I was having a coma induced dream, "How is that even possible?"
"A year after you entered the capsule, the sensors started to read strange energy signatures in the ground, the air, basically everywhere . Exactly a year later the EMP that fried all my systems occurred . I believe judging by the magnitude of the EMP that it was a global event so I changed the planned modifications to your body a little to maximize your survivability, including but not limited to an organ to process the new emissions in your appendix (you weren't using it anyways) and a full integration of all your cells with nanites (with the new energy source it seemed like a waste not to). Besides there was a cave in, and you couldn't have gotten out anyways, so I didn't think it was necessary to wake you up."
I was speechless, but before I could give a reply to her ridiculous statements, someone started prying the doors to my capsule open.....

8 126The Crimson Castle
This is a LitRPG that follows Claire Woodward, A somewhat nerdy high school senior, who finds herself trapped in a video game, The Crimson Castle, she had just booted up for the first time. The Low Magic Fantasy World of The Crimson Castle is unlike any other. The world consists of only two things, the walled city of Dal and the wilderness that surrounds it. Each night, the wilderness outside of the city disappears and for five minutes the world trembles. Once the five minutes are up, the wilderness reappears, but it is always different from any previous' day wilderness. This means each day the city of Dal is surrounded by something new and exciting. Sometimes, the city of Dal finds itself on top of a snowy mountain, the next day in a foggy swamp, the next day after that on a tropical island, and so on. Inhabitants of Dal that go out into the wilderness are called adventurers. The further adventurers get from city of Dal, the rarer the loot they will find, but also the more treacherous their travels will become. Do not worry though, it is impossible to die in the wilderness. If your health reaches zero you will transported back to the city of Dal alive and well. Will Claire be able to figure out why she was transported into this world, and better yet, will she be able to escape it?
8 132Deteoh – A Glitched World’s Isekai Story
When you die you're supposed to just go to either an afterlife worthy of your exploits or get reincarnated and start all over.Or you can be like me and volunteer to play hero to save a world!I even managed to negotiate immortality as a reward, well I have to become a vampire for that but its not half bad. Glitched skill system?God devouring artefacts?Death counts in scientific notation? What do you mean I just killed the heroine? What have I gotten myself into.I get the feeling I'm playing on impossible difficulty. Also why does everyone make such a deal about how I died?Just because I don't understand the scientific principal at fault doesn't make it important, right?
