I finally knocked out all of the elves that came at me but there were still archers inbound. I heal quickly but probably only with light wounds and I’m not the defense type how do I make up for it?

The answer is…

An elf meat shield!

“Here I~ go” [Lan]

I used their commander as a shield then slowly crept back into the crevice, I blocked the entrance with his body so that I could recover, albeit, even only a little.

Of course the archers can’t shoot their commander, right? HAHAHA! It’s fool proof!

After a few minutes of calming down and eating the fruits I had to replenish my energy, someone suddenly kicked the commander out of the way, taking away my only defense against the archers since I’ve used a lot of arcana this is bad-

An arrow suddenly flew towards the entrance, aimed at this lady that didn’t have pointy ears. Before I could think, my body moved on its own, regardless if this woman was an enemy or not. I couldn’t catch the arrow with my bare hands like earlier so I shielded her from the arrow with my non dominant hand. As the arrow pierced through my arm, I caught the extension of the arrow before it could reach me.

“Ara~ what a gentleman”

“Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?” [Lan]

“Rest assured, only you are the one who needs treatment”

“Thank goodness. Get inside!” [Lan]

As the woman went inside, I swiftly took the commanders body to block the entrance of the crevice-

“Ah that won’t be necessary”

Before I could even ask, the woman waved her hand to the entrance then suddenly, a few barriers were erected- just like that.

“Wha-!?” [Lan]

“Impressive aren’t I?”

“W-who are you?!” [Lan]

“Rest assured, I’m not hostile unless I am made be… for now I am here since I saw your eye in a pretty bad shape, is it not? I happen to have some eye drops with me”

“Huh?” [Lan]

Eye drops? For an eye that has a huge hole in it?! Is she cra-

“Now, now… bend down so I can apply the eye drops”

She suddenly released an unfathomable amount of bloodlust; pressure I could only succumb to-

I bend down then-

“Ah, can I borrow your blade? The lid on the eye drops container is a bit hard to open you see”

She sliced the tip of her finger then made its’ blood drop on my broken eye-
