Cambrian, Thadulator, BloodRaven, Dominion, Kakarot, Gedea, TechGirl, GA_Bulldog, MarkoPolo, DragonKhan, NightFlyer, ATLPhoenix, ATLATL, BlessYourHeart, ThunderCaller, MisfitMaiden, TechSupport, Succulent, CaptainCool, AshenRayn, Frost, Brackhaven, Bull, Anonymous3, Fabulous, Yandere, Anonymous4, Anonymous6, Kite, VanHelsing, and Vaporware are in the chat.
Kite: So has everything settled down after that last bit of crazy in Atlanta?
TechGirl: Well, the racist assholes are either dead, or scattering to the wind. We THINK we killed all of Wehrmacht so he should be sent to a reroll along with the rest of Southern Pride and their cronies.
ATLATL: And we kicked the hell out of the warlock who decided that opening a gateway to hell was a good idea.
Cambrian: Hell, even the gangs and the police are having a bit of a ‘cooling off period’, as they try and recover from the damage those fuckers did.
Thadulator: But as for ‘settled’? Not so much. The rot was deep enough that cutting it out is a painful, long ass process.
NightFlyer: Ugh, don’t remind me. Jobs checking and vetting government officials have been all over the place. Everyone’s trying to make sure that the ones who didn’t get killed aren’t part of the conspiracy.
Bull: And they didn’t get all the racists. Some of them simply went to ground, or were smart enough not to get mixed up in the conspiracy.
Vaporware: What’s the deal with the League of Heroes? They’ve been really quiet since Southern Pride unmasked themselves.
AshenRayn: They’re in horrible positions all over the country, it seems. No one knows just how much knowledge their national group had on what was happening with Southern Pride, but the fact that one of their groups tried to conquer Georgia doesn’t sit well with a lot of people.
Fabulous: Last I heard, they were getting some serious pushback. Laws that made them the only ‘legal’ super organization are getting challenged.

TechSupport: The one in Georgia is already gone. Governor Michaels signed the law today. Any super group that registers with the state can be considered official. Unofficial groups are not against the law, but vigilante actions are still vigilante actions.
CaptainCool: So what is involved in being official?
TechSupport: You have to have an official team base where they can serve papers if you’re accused of something, your ‘cape names’ have to be registered, and you may be asked to appear in court for the cases of anyone you bring in. Also, you’re required to have insurance for collateral damage and other such things.
CaptainCool: No keeping a record of your vulnerabilities and powers, then?
TechSupport: That went away once evidence was presented that it had been used to specifically target people Southern Pride didn’t like.
Fabulous: What about the existing registries?
TechSupport: Funny thing about government chaos is that there are a LOT of files that might get ‘lost’ or ‘corrupted’ in the changeover. Wouldn’t you know it, but somehow that database ended up being wiped, and someone accidentally fed the physical copies into the incinerator. So sad.
Kakarot: Freedom of Information Act 0, TechSupport 1.
TechSupport: Hush you. Some info shouldn’t be out there. Makes the game unbalanced. But don’t worry, only the government files were targeted, along with anything Southern Pride had.
AshenRayn: What about the LoH files?
BloodRaven: I went and had a ‘chat’ with them at their national HQ. It was a productive discussion.
DragonKhan: Was that an actual chat or the kind of chat that involves stabbings?
BloodRaven: Yes.
DragonKhan: You know what, I’m good not knowing more than that.
MisfitMaiden: Hey, has anyone else been noticing some weird shit going on? Not racist asshole weird shit, but WTF weird shit?
Succulent: Yes, the former site of the Governor’s Mansion is still off-limits to civilians, but I was able to get inside and run some tests.

BloodRaven: I’m going to need a drink for this, aren’t I?
Succulent: Well, maybe not. Basically, ripping open a portal like that? That’s some major magic. Sealing it was also major magic. The portal was located on a ley line, so that energy all went somewhere.
Succulent: The closest parallel I can make is to say it is like a power surge in your electronics. Lightning hit something big and the surge can travel through the lines for miles, right?
Kite: Oh, fuck. Are we going to have more demons?
Succulent: Maybe, maybe not. This power surge got into the ley lines, and traveled out from there. I’ll leave the aetherological geology talk for another time, but suffice to say that there were four pathways the power went down.
Misfit Maiden: So, where’d it go?
Succulent: Well, the biggest local spikes, other than the mansion, will be at Five Points and Stone Mountain. The line leading from Stone Mountain hits Athens, and then flows north, towards Charleston. By the time it gets there, it should have mostly worked itself out.
Succulent: The second line runs straight along Sherman’s March to the Sea, and runs smack into Savannah. Some might bleed off towards Florida, but Savannah’s going to be amped up.
Kite: Fuck. That’s why the ghosts have been getting anxious.
DragonKhan: Ghosts?
BlessYourHeart: All the old cities, the ones that weren’t burned and rebuilt, have their ghost stories. Especially in the South. Savannah, St. Augustine, New Orleans, they all have them.
BloodRaven: That reminds me, I need to check in on the coven there.
Frost: Coven?
BloodRaven: Well, I made a couple vampires, and charged them with making New Orleans safe from things that go bump in the night.
Succulent: That would be a good idea. The third line heads that way, though it runs along the coast from Mobile first.
BloodRaven: Field trip. Got it.
Yandere: Where does the fourth line go?
Succulent: Up into the mountains, by Dahlonega. That one is acting weird, probably because the Appalachians are such a conduit already.
VanHelsing: So in other words, the mystic types are going to be having our work cut out for us in the future?
BloodRaven: Damnit, I wanted a vacation!

Tidal Lock
Humanity has finally taken the next step into space. Governments run research stations throughout the solar system while private enterprises mine asteroids for rare metals and exotic minerals. However, space remains beyond the reach of the everyday person. In contrast, virtual reality technology has led to an explosion of full immersion entertainment for the average consumer, and many people turned to VR for the thrill of spaceflight. One game, Parallax Gate, lets its players experience living in an interstellar civilization. For maximum realism, its developers created a world solely defined by the players' personal skills and ability.Mark Asami, a student of aerospace engineering at MIT, dreams of bringing spaceflight to the masses. To his disappointment, his first year courses barely relate to his interests, so he passes time as Aero Rayne in Parallax Gate with his roommate and their organization, the Temple Wraiths. Before they realized, a chain of in-game events drew them deeper into the game's world and politics than they ever intended to go.
8 131A Girl and Her Fate
Avien Shepard heralded change with his arrival. Not only was he born on the dawn a solar eclipse, three meteors lit up the sky on the day of his birth. Seven sages visited across seven years to gift him with knowledge of the seven legal schools of magic, and a deceased outlaw fought his way up from the hells to grant knowledge of the tabooed eighth on the next. On his eleventh birthday, a sword fell from the sky and landed in a very important chair. Soldiers from far and wide traveled to attempt to extract the sword from the queen’s throne, but none could shift the blade, until Avien. When he was fourteen, Avien learned of a prophecy that foretold of his decade long battle with the Demon Prince of Invea. But this isn't his story. Avien is kind of a chump. This is the story of Amber Jewel, a girl who has only been Chosen as another Chosen one’s wife. Updates Thursday, & Sunday.

For those unfamiliar with my writing style, Second Chances was my first attempt at writing. I'm not sure how much I learned in the process, except that readers get angry when you mess with characters they like! Warnings - I tend to info dump. I know I do this, I like slice of life novels that take time to unfold. So don't expect action, murder, and battles in every chapter, it isn't going to happen I prefer the first-person narrative. I will do an occasional POV shift, but it will never be done mid-chapter. I hope you enjoy the story, comments, ratings, and favorites are greatly appreciated!
8 283QQQQ
Have you ever noticed that the letter Q is unnecessary? It doesn't provide any function to the language. Any word spelled with it could just as easily be spelled with other letters. Does that mean it shouldn't exist? Of course not. In this universe, everything has a place. Cosmic balance, Karma, God's plan, the laws of physics—they're all trying to describe the same thing. There is nothing that exists without purpose, and nothing without purpose that can exist. You can take solace in knowing that, just like the useless letter Q, you have birthright to exist in this world. Nothing can take that from you. Unless a creator God breeds technicolor angel-beasts hellbent on ripping you out of reality, of course. When Mina learns that she was a cosmic accident—a being accidentally created without purpose—what was once an easygoing life starts to entwine with conspiracies, impossible occurrences, and deadly occult mysteries. Not to mention friends so dangerous and unpredictable they make the cosmic horrors look normal by comparison. When the questions never stop piling up, it's hard to know where to begin. But I'll give you a hint: they all begin with a Q.

8 411The Spirit Games
Bullied at school and neglected by his parents, Tom Fiddle finds himself at his wit's end, until he receives a strange email offering him a job as a cultivation clan's spirit automaton. But what *is* a spirit automaton? After a successful application, he gets an answer to his question: a spirit automaton is an arcane spirit attached to a pocket realm. They can shape this miniature world to their liking and conjure spiritual entities, usually monsters, out of thin air. Their role is to create and administer trial-by-fires. These life and death competitions determine whether a disciple is *chosen* or merely *trash* that deserves to be left by the wayside. Tom's new responsibility will affect the lives of millions of cultivators and shape the future of hundreds of worlds, dozens of galaxies, and eventually, the universe itself. Will Tom use his newfound power to torment others and merely benefit himself? Or will he rewrite the course of history and transform the path of cultivation from a path of blood and destruction, to one of peace and tranquility?
