《Celestial Magus》Chapter 31 : Taking out trash

On his way, he asked someone whom this Hristo really was and understood his background. So he was the son of Luca! This meant one thing, he couldn’t touch him. Or he would have to face the wrath of the whole Black Dragon clan.
As he was nearing the Black Dragon store, Robert realized another thing. He was blinded by all his subjects’ pleas that he forgot to see whether he was really able to help them in this situation.
“Damn! I would have thrown down the gauntlet blinded by all these cheerings”
Robert took a deep breath and thought how he can manage the situation without actually confronting the army of Black Dragon directly. He truly didn’t possess any weapons that could actually induce fear without lethality.
Well, Goldfair was out of danger now and these soldiers of Black Dragon were not needed here. Also, the medicine in this world can treat almost any wounds unless it’s lethal. A plan started to form in Robert’s head. He was going to exact revenge for his people. His lips curved into an evil grin.
Sending out a man to call Isidro and some other snipers on duty, Robert positioned them on some far away buildings that had a line of sight to the Goldfair store. They had one order, to shoot to not kill. Robert didn’t want to kill someone unless it was absolutely necessary and this situation didn’t require someone paying with their life.
Isidro was not sure what Robert meant when he ordered them to shoot non lethally, but after Robert explained the targets, feet and arms, Isidro kind of understood. He had to intentionally miss all the vital organs. Damn, this was harder than taking a clear shot on a battlefield.
But Isidro liked challenges. And this was one of those occasions where you could really shine. Cracking his knuckles and neck, he took his rifle and ammo bag and looked for a good spot to hunt!
A few minutes later, the stage was set and the show was ready to begin.

An army of men led by a man who looked like he was in his thirties, had a smug look on his face, came out of the entrance of the store of Black Dragon store.
Robert was standing in the front yard of the store, alone, like a cowboy sheriff standing ready to ward off bandits in movies. He could even hear the background music playing in his head.
“I will give you three minutes to get the hell out of my town ye filthy bastard!”, Robert was feeling badass and issued an order.
He was really enjoying this feeling of having a town for his own and being the police, and the court of that town. In his previous life, he couldn’t even have imagined being a hero or doing something like standing against an army alone. But he was doing it now.
Many of the men who were behind Hristo broke into a laughter hearing what Robert said. Hristo himself was amused by this strange man who was saying strange things. What does he think he is? His town? Anyway, Hristo was looking for someone to vent his anger and was more than happy to do so on this man.
“Your town? This is Black Dragon’s town, and I am the heir of Black Dragon clan, who are you to even stand in front of me?”
There were many people gathered around to see what was happening and Hristo wanted to project himself as a righteous person in front of them when beating up this guy, thus wanted a reason to do so.
“Black Dragon’s Sophy has transferred this town to me, and I am asking you to kindly get off my town, or face the consequences.”
Robert was doing the same as Hristo, he didn’t want to appear as if he didn’t give the opposition a chance to surrender, and thus repeatedly asked them to get out of the town.
“Sophy?”
Frowning, Hristo continued
“You are with her?”
Hristo didn’t want to wait any longer, the name Sophy was something he hated to the core. It was only because of her that his father was not yet able to get full control over the clan. If she hadn’t somehow taken back Goldfair, Luca would have gotten a good reason for making her suffer even more. Although it was not her fault that Goldfair was fallen, Luca could easily bend the truths and put her in a bad situation.

“I can’t yet do anything to her, but there is nothing holding me back from harming her friends”
Hristo said, smiling evilly.
He gestured a man behind him to go forward.
This man who had just been summoned, walked forward, he was looking forward to beating Robert.
As he was walking towards Robert, Robert raised his right hand and snapped his fingers. And the moment he snapped his fingers, the man who was walking forward suddenly fell down, he was rolling on the ground with pain, his hands cupping a wound in his feet.
The smile on everyone from the Hristo’s side faded.
Nobody on their side had any idea of what had just happened. One moment Their comrade was walking towards their enemy, the next, he was rolling in the ground screaming.
The one smiling now was Robert. He pointed to the gate of the town to Hristo with his hand.
Just as Hristo was about to order something to his men, Robert raised his hand and showed a thumbs up sign. Five men from the ranks of Hristo was suddenly on the ground,
Hristo looked at Robert stunned, Robert grinned ear to ear to Hristo. In his mind, he was telling “yep it’s all me!”
But outside, he said
“If I wanted, those six men would have been dead now! You still have one minute to get out of my town before I put a hole in your head”
Hristo still wanted to send out all his men to get this bastard in front of him killed. But a man, older in age who was beside Hristo stopped him and whispered something in his ear.
Hristo gave a furious look to Robert before stomping off towards the town gates.
The army of men followed suit, they took their comrades who were lying on the ground in pain with them too.
The men who had gathered around to see what was happening all gave a thunderous applause to Robert. Those who had doubts about his capabilities earlier became his supporter due to this incident.
What Robert was thinking was different though. He had to go head to head against Luca either now or later for Sophy, doing this now, he got respect from his people as a bonus too. He didn’t worry too much about how he was going to fight Luca, there was still time for that. Luca wouldn’t yet make a move against Sophy.
Although he couldn't do anything physically to this trash Hristo, he had left a mental note for him by shooting down 6 of his men in front of him. The note clearly said, "Don't mess with me and my people!"
Robert was not the guy who didn't like to kill from before, his experience has shown him to not be merciful to enemies. But if he was to kill Hristo now, he would be infuriating an army of elite soldiers that was waiting for a few miles off the Greyston. And thus he had to gnash his teeth and let Hristo off for now.
If he had killed Hristo with a sniper without anyone knowing, it wouldn't do him any good. He wanted to show the people of Greyston that he would be there to watch their back. He wanted to make this place his headquarters for the future operations and needed some people that actually followed him. If he was to take over a city with his power, it would just make him another brute overlord who only uses the mass as a tool for his own rising. But making a small town grow into a city, he could build up a place that was absolutely under his control.

The Fall of The Gods
Synopsis: In the year 1966, an army of Orishas led by Sango stormed Amadioha’s palace and razed it the ground, starting a decades-long war between two of Nigeria’s most powerful divine orders. Blinded by the rage of battle, the gods did not detect the rise of a third power, far greater and deadlier than anything they could have imagined. When gods, on both the Yoruba and Igbo sides, begin falling mysteriously to their death, Sango seeks the help of Odion, a Lagos teenager destined to rise from his dark past to become a hero. But can a human hero save the gods from a doomed fate? The Fall of the Gods is an action-packed YA fantasy based on the mythical bond that ties human life with the realm of the divine. It demonstrates the power of stories to change our lives. It also reminds us that Sango and Amadioha are not relics of the past and that, sometimes, what it means to be a hero in today’s world is knowing how to find inspiration in the stories of the gods. PLEASE NOTE: Weekly chapters will be released every friday along with interludes once in a while about Nigerian mythology. I'm a young 17 year old writer and I am new to the site so I will appreciate your comments and reviews. Thank you very much.

Anchor Points: Age of Heroes
If you had a chance to reset history, knowing what we know now, would you take it? Six years after kicking an alien expeditionary force off the surface of the Earth back to their staging bases in the asteroid belt, and aided by stolen alien technology, the United Terran Republic Navy has finally achieved enough warship production to put the enemy on the run. Despite the facade of unity projected by the Earth's new federal government, deep cracks still lie under the surface that threaten the stability of world peace and the ability to protect humanity with a unified military response. Within this backdrop, the North American Union, now a mere state in the greater union, has created or reopened multiple off-books projects and black sites to house secrets both old and new that would be far too toxic or dangerous to be known to the wider world at such a delicate stage in world history. One of these secrets will draw Captain Henry O'Toole from his comfortable posting with the Jupiter Fleet straight into a world of conspiracies and secrets that could destroy the new, still fragile world order. Captain O'Toole will take command of mankind's first true starship with a secret mission that would be seen as treason by the new federal government. His orders are to use a prototype faster than light drive to travel through dimensions higher than spacetime and ride the expansion of the universe to create an off-books colony solely for the NAU. There are consequences for escaping time's jealous grasp, which instead position them to have a chance to change the course of human history. Fate has called the Indomitable Will and her crew into the Age of Heroes, will they be able to rise to the challenge?
