《An ordinary novel but every 10,000 words the audience kills the least interesting character》💀 3 💀

While the beast was licking its wounds, Tarquin huddled everyone together. He felt a stranger in his own skin. It was impossible to say how much the Italian woman had stolen, but what he knew was this: his wife, his mother, and his son were absent from his memories.
In the park, he remembered pulling and pushing an empty set of swings, whooping with joy, looking aside occasionally to an abandoned bench, and after he'd had his fun he perched on the edge of a picnic blanket and winced through a packet of vinegar crisps while other families played around him.
He thought of his summerhouse, and recalled only an empty shed.
What... what was his son's name? How old was he? Had he ever even had one? Tarquin clenched his fists, ablaze in rage.
"Thank you for saving us, Kari," said Haralda.
Kari shrugged and pointed at the mound of flesh with the knife, which glowed such a brilliant green, like his wife's emerald ring. The ninth outgrowth had nearly regenerated.
His wife... what did she look like, again?
Eirlys tied her hair up in a ponytail and said, "We need weapons strong enough to hurt it, like Kari's. I don't know what that child did, but we need to do the same. And yes, Saheel, we're going to vote them in."
Kari nodded, and said, timidly, "Give them Djinn..."
"Hey, Eirlys, no objections here." Saheel patted himself down. "But what's to stop them rejecting every proposal we fling at them and stealing the energy anyway?"
Eirlys studied the beast, nearly knitted back together now, before saying, "...Nothing. But there's no other choice. All we can do is take shelter in the abstract."
"It will work," said Kari.
"Very well," said Haralda. "All those in favour of conjuring some Djinn of our own — that is, weapons strong enough to destroy our opponent?"

The group raised their thumbs, and Tarquin trembled at the amount of energy cannoning into the mound; it was enough to instantly reanimate the ninth soul, as well as expand the mound itself so high that it crashed through the roof, letting in blinding sunlight and frosty air.
In turn, some — but not all — of the twisted humanoids put their thumbs down. Notably, the adonic, roided out version of Faust kept his hand where it was.
7👍 — MAJORITY REACHED
As soon as it came into Tarquin's hands, he wondered how he'd ever gone through life without it. Confidence and power flowed through him. He gripped the Axe Of The Family Tree by its lacquered mahogany handle, and broke out of the group to run full pelt at the Italian woman, swinging it round at her head, anything to avenge the loss of his family...
But the glossy axehead wasn't glowing like Kari's blade. Instead of sailing through her skull, it got lodged in it, and Tarquin found himself clinging on, trying to wrench it away as the Italian woman soared upwards, lifting him into the air by the neck...
His life flashed before his eyes, a procession of contemporary Tarquins oozing out his brain, before every last memory shattered.

Dear Spellbook (Link to rewrite in blurb)
A rewrite of this story has been posted here: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/49881/dear-spellbook-a-fantasy-time-loop-rewrite Live. Study. Repeat. Tal is a sorcerer in a world where they are killed on sight, traveling with a man charged with carrying out the task. Every night Tal must pretend to study his spellbook to maintain his disguise as a Wizard’s Apprentice. If his disguise slips and his charade is uncovered, it will be his death. Seeking answers to mysteries that arose after his parent’s murder, Tal must accept any allies, no matter the risks, to uncover his family’s secret. But when he wakes up one morning to find himself trapped repeating the same day, he has to overcome his challenges all on his own. This story is an adaptation of a D&D campaign I ran but never was able to complete. I tried to capture the feel of a table-top RPG session —tropes and humor— without relying on the mechanics. This is not a litRPG or gamelit story and no D&D mechanics or system appear in the game. It follows one member of an adventuring party as he deals with the problems with that arise from being an adventurer. Namely, getting roped into adventures. The story has a time loop element, but will eventually move past that. This story explores the magic systems, the history, and the lore of the world through the lens of Tal's entries in his Spellbook and interludes from other written works in the world. New entries on Mondays Credit to JackOfHearts for the cover.

Unfinished - Apologies to anyone who was reading but I have no current intentions to revisit this story Alex was stuck in a rut: He was nearing thirty, and his career seemed to be going no-where; He used to have plenty of friends at university, but had gradually lost touch with them. He had recently started using a dating site, but truthfully he never quite got over his ex. It could be worse; he didn't spend his nights wallowing in self pity. However, he had a sinking feeling that his life was going no-where fast. When Alex decided to take up an old hobby all he really was looking for was something fun to do on friday nights. Thrust into another world by a mad mage Alex must adapt quickly to survive. Unfortunately, Alex showed up late to game night and ends up stuck with a pretty mediocre character in this game like reality. Alex must learn to survive in this new world; just because it all seems like a giant game doesn't make death any less terrifying. This will be my first attempt at writing litrpg. I wanted to set myself the challenge of writing every week and I think knowing people might be reading it will motivate me. I've always worked much better with external deadlines. FAQ Why should I read this LitRPG? I am writing because I enjoy it and you should read it if you enjoy it. If I had to make an elevator pitch I would start off by saying my MC is a rogue type character, which seems a relatively uncommon character at least based on what I have read. I also strive to make the supporting cast three dimensional characters, and not just caricatures. Finally, I can't forget that this is a LitRPG so I have tried to make a RPG system with depth, and one that makes sense. How often will you release chapters? At least once a week is my goal. I am a nurse with a baby at home, so between my hospital and my baby I won't have time for more unless something dramatically changes. Will there be romance? I won't rule it out as I try to let my characters write their own stories. However, there will NEVER be a harem, it just isn't something I am interested in. Gore, Profanity, and Traumatising Content? I don't intend to have any of these present at obscene levels, but my tolerance might be different to yours. The tags are mostly there to cover me. I am making this story as a revamp, edit, and transformation of the legendary gamer into something that can be better related to. I have done some work on writing, and also put more work into preparing the introductory thoughts. I will have a bare minimum of weekly updates, but there may be more depending on how much time I have. This story will follow Gregory Jeffrey Drake, a young man whose life is partially micromanaged by his parents, and in time will come to be a powerful character in his own story. For now though, the main focus for Gregory is to grow and find his place in this new world he has been dropped into. Gregory gained a new type of class, and must use it if he hopes to stay alive and make the world a better place.
