…
Lucifer then asked Arthus and Merlin, “there is still a sizable force on the first floor, would you kindly go and kill them”
“don’t you have another one of those weapons to take care of them,” said Arthus.
Lucifer answered, “yes, but that would require them to go deeper instead of leaving the dungeon, and by the looks of it they are already starting to break”
“what are you going to do” Merlin asked.
“teach the Magedom a lesson” Lucifer replied.
“how”
“secret” Lucifer grinned.
First floor.
The ground was littered with incapacitated men. Very few died from the acid, but the victims were blinded and couldn’t even defend themselves, let alone act in an army.
It was only a matter of time before the golem tanks attacked again. While there wasn’t many of them left there are even fewer able combatants to stop them. Occasionally a single mage or a group of mages would disappear amongst the symphony of suffering going on around them.
The last vestiges of a command structure tried to create some order, but they couldn’t stop an invisible man in their current state. Other people covered their faces and fled when they thought no one was looking, others just left while ignoring their superiors. A few even pretended to be blind and ‘felt’ their way towards the exit.
Healing was effectively useless, normal healing spells only hastened the natural healing process and maybe enhanced it under a skilled caster. Only advanced healing would be able to return their sight, and the few that remained were either spent or missing.
As the numbers further dwindled the golem tanks burst through the tunnels sending out a hail of death. The acid rain had stopped, but the mages were still grouped together out of position. Of the 300 or so remaining combatants 100 were cut down in the first volley.
The remaining men charged the golem tanks or made earth walls for defense, however, when they closed in on the golems using earth walls as cover, giant armored men appeared from behind the tank golems. They held simple machine guns similar to the tanks and fired off trained bursts into the enemies.
A strange sort of trench warfare began, mages earth desperately created labyrinths of earthen walls to stop the gunfire, the earth they collected during their first escape was immensely useful, but the tank golems drove right through the thinner walls and over thicker ones after damaging the walls.
Solitary tank golems were quickly picked off as the enemies became familiar to their shortcomings, however, the dungeon knights supported a significant force that was slowly pushing forward, wall by wall, sector by sector.

They moved as if guided from a mind above, with brutal efficiency they cleared all life from the walls, dead ends were ignored, hiding mages were found, ambushes ambushed. Every now and then one of them would take a direct spell hit, fire bathed their hulking forms, they were encased in ice, thrown through solid walls, but it only served to slow them down.
Fire just darkened their already black armor, Ice just inconvenienced them as an ally would have to bash apart the ice, and throwing them with pure force magic didn’t seem to damage them much, one even started laughing and jeered at the attacking mage to do it again.
But ammo isn’t infinite and the dungeon knights guns ran dry, half of the golem tanks were idling in the back, out of munitions, so they retreated and gave the mages some breathing room, while a couple of dungeon knights who “enjoyed the challenge” stayed back to attack smaller groups with their bare hands or other enemies.
Meanwhile overhead.
Merlin was floating just below the ceiling while he levitated an uncomfortable Arthus next to him.
Merlin said “those weapons are extremely effective, although it is obvious the dungeon isn’t capable of bringing out their full use”
“oh and how would you do so,” Arthus asked.
Merlin answered “those cartridges on the bottom of the rods hold the limited activation's of the weapon, so having your army run out before the battle is finished is ineffective”
Lucifer's deep voice rumbled next to them, “what are you doing floating around here for”
Arthus remarked, “I thought you were ‘dealing with the Magedom’, why are you here”
Lucifer answered, “I am the dungeon, it is hard to not be here when there are still so many enemies in my dungeon”
“fine” Merlin said, “It is our turn I get it”
Lucifer smiled to himself, unbeknownst to them Lucifer had several tank golems fitted with ammo caches still inside the walls. Instead of sending them out he watched on with interest.
Merlin floated ahead of Arthus and began casting, mana pored out of the mage, and to Lucifer's surprise still stayed under Merlin's control as unwoven mana. A strange glow lit up the mage's chest, Lucifer could tell there was some sort of orb inside beside Merlin's heart.
The freed mana split into a hundred small orbs, Lucifer switched to mana sight and saw further magics being weaved onto and in the orbs. Then the orbs flew towards the mages, each orb targeting a separate target.
Several mages below noticed the roof lighting up as if it was the night sky, and threw defensive wards in front of themselves, however, Merlin's magic passed through the barriers as if they weren’t there, the orbs entered the mage's bodies leaving them completely unharmed, a second later they all dropped dead without a wound or understanding how they died.

“the rest are yours kid,” Merlin said before dropping Arthus to the ground.
Lucifer darkly said, “I can see why you run a magic university. Even I can’t cast several hundred spells at once”
Merlin glared at the voices perceived direction and mockingly said, “I do not need moral advice from a dungeon”
“and I don’t care to give it” Lucifer replied before redirecting the river through the fire suppression system with a portal.
Rain once again visited the first floor as Arthus killed any surviving combatants, but this time it was actually water. “what are you doing” Merlin asked.
“washing the bodies”
Merlin said, “washing”
After several seconds Merlin came to a realization, there was a black wave heading towards the incapacitated soldiers and mages. It was a wave of hungry ants.
Sometime later.
Lucifer was in his lab and staring at a set of small twin demons. they were barely a foot tall and were basically an eyeball with legs. One of them was casting a spell projecting an image of what its twin was seeing.
Lucifer chuckled with a grin. He focused his mind on a small magical blimp in the sky, then casted a teleportation spell on the twin.
The second demon disappeared and the first demons projected image changed to a night sky. Then it shifted and a high orbit image of the planet was projected on the little demons magic screen.
In space.
The little demon found itself transported to a clear sphere above the planet, the sphere had several projections with cones protruding out, inside the sphere, there was a large mana gem, larger than the little demon had ever seen before.
It felt something from its twin below, a message, “look down”. It didn’t know which way was down here because it was floating, but the messages kept coming until it looked the right way.
Time slowly passed by as the demon became bored, this was the strangest summoning it ever had in its ancient existence. Even stranger still a giant rod was teleported underneath it. The rod had cones coming off it with mana gems embedded around them.
Then the cones shot out a stream of mana and the rod slowly moved away from it towards the planet.
The demon lost sight of the rod and was once again bored, a large red circle appeared on the planet for a moment, but it didn’t care.
Lucifer's lab.
“HAH, I only missed by a few dozen kilometers, I guess I will just have to try again when it comes around again, or on any of the dozen or so times it lines up today”
While Lucifer was celebrating his orbital bombardment the floating Magedom city was in turmoil.
The ruling council of mages had gathered, in part to help calm the masses, but mainly to figure out what practically decimated a mountain only a few days from their floating city.
They argued for hours while scouts reports came in, each report was graver than the last. When they received a report about half a dragon lying dead at the impact point they almost had a heart attack. Even they wouldn’t dare attack a dragon and the idea that something existed that could kill such a being in one hit terrified them, especially because they weren't the ones in control of that something.
Suddenly a scout burst into the room and the council turned to him in morbid anticipation. The scout was panting and out of breath, “ther- there is- another one”
“WHAT!” a council member yelled, “WHERE, MOBILISE OUR ARMY TO GET IT”
The scout jumped back slightly at being yelled at by such a powerful individual, but he still pointed up.
Above the Magedom floating city.
Several tones of enchanted metal cut through the air at several times the speed of sound. All control surfaces on it had been torn by the massive forces of planetary reentry.
Then it made impact with the side of the floating city, the impact forces were so great that it overpowered the molecular bonds holding the metal to itself, each molecule violently spread out to dissipate its energy turning the solid metal rod into a bomb.
Within the first half second the floating city shattered and a quarter of the city disappeared. The rest of the city didn’t fare much better as the heat and shock-wave reduced everything to rubble. Anything that survived fell several hundred meters to the ground when the city couldn’t maintain its flotation magic anymore.
Lucifer watched the twin demons vision and grinned.
Sometime in the future.
Lucifer stood on top of his mountain and said, “My domain extends as far as the eye can see. It's grand beyond compare, filled with creatures the minds of mere mortals cannot fathom. MWA HAHAHA”
