"Sir, we are getting lectures and visuals of many specimens achieving various mutations on the planet. Some are seizing them quicker than we anticipated. One of them even managed to create a war between two different hive colonies."

"Oh, Isn't that exciting? It must be the champion of a chaotic Limited for sure."

"Not, precisely, sir. The recording made by the drones affirms that it was pure curiosity that took the specimen to the place where the events took hold."

"Hmmm, that sure is intriguing. How many achievements did it get?"

"In that particular situation, seven, Sir."

"That's a lot. Even some Tier 2 creatures with great intelligence get someone to watch over that one and the others who are making progress. If it keeps this pace, be sure to reward it with something unique. That goes for all."

"Yes, sir."

Evalyne was looking at the new abilities of Basil. But the mutations and energies worried her. "Basil doesn't have control of that bone manipulation and can get himself killed instead of killing another creature with it," was her thinking.

The other thing that picked her interest was the energies tab. "Basil got the Toxic energy complete. How?" she could only assume that in all that battle, he got something charged with toxins. Maybe it was the mutant Tank or the queen that had it.

The plant energy was from the Queen without a doubt; Death must have been from the parasites; Nature is something different as it's primordial energy like Asther, the one we call Pure energy. That's why Toxic and Plants are below them because they are produced and belong to the Primordial Nature.

Evalyne knew all this, her travels got her a wide arrange of knowledge and even more for Energy because she is a creature made of it primarily, but she began to look at the screens and frowned upon seeing the things lurking in the dark of the tunnel.

"Really, can't he have a break? he just got out of a fucking war to now be assaulted by those things."

The things lurking in the cavern looked like a centipede, with segmented parts and a hard shell in each one. Still, that thing was not an insect, and it only looked like one. In truth, it is a congregation of slimes that, by getting together, form an insect. With the parts of their prey, they consolidate their form and become less slimy with time. This thing is called Ceadcem.

Basil was walking steadily within the cavern. He was in a good mood because his mission was to get water for his belly. Sadly some things wouldn't let him do it calmly.

A centipede-looking creature leaking goo on the floor was looking at Basil from above, its semi-formed legs maintaining it in the ceiling, slowly going down to catch it by surprise, the prey stopped, and the Ceadcem did it too. Was it discovered? The creature was trembling in its position, it didn't seem like he was looking for it, but something else was disturbing it.

The Centipede approached with confidence, all of its nuclei preparing to digest this meal, but the creature began to tremble even more and make weird noises. The Ceadcem didn't care and went for the attack.

Basil was in pain, his body wasn't responding, and his instinct was warning him, almost screaming, of the impending danger. He couldn't move, and with a , something ejected out of his back. It was a release and hurt like hell but what surprised him was the and a he heard after the thing in his back got out.

The Ceadcem was going for the kill; what he didn't expect were three spikes getting out of the creature to puncture it in the head, one of its nuclei got destroyed. It was angered.

Basil moved and saw what he had done and what was behind him, it was another bug, but this one was long with many legs and giant pincers in its head? It was amorphous in many places. The yellow goo was dripping on the floor from every part of its body. Some carapaces maintain its body together and make them look incomplete, still forming but dangerous.

Basil jumped at it, avoiding the pincer and some of its legs. He clawed at the head with force, and the thing went to the floor with a smack. The Ceadcem changed its legs' direction and tried to trap Basil, but he jumped to the side in time and bit at the monster's flesh. It was slime, like that other time, but this one was not corrosive.

The thing tried to trap Basil again, but he also jumped to set some space between him and the amorphous Bug. Basil analyzed the creature with detail and saw many tiny spheres circulating inside the body of the thing. "Maybe if I break the spheres, I can kill that thing," the Ceadcem noted Basil looking at its nucleus, and that put it on alert.

It raised its body to look more menacing. Still, Basil was not deterred by this and charged towards the elongated body. The Ceadcem tried to stop him by attacking with its pincer, but Basil was quicker and bit at one of the segments to rip it with a movement of its head.

One nucleus was severed, and that made the Ceadcem move more slowly. However, not to lose its form, angered by the loss of two of its cores, it changed tactics, and instead of shredding it with the pincers, it decided to catch the beast. Basil ate the nucleus and the slime; it did not satisfy his thirst, but it was something.

The Ceadcem began to encircle Basil rapidly with its long body, and Basil tried to escape, but the centipede was quicker than him and got him in its grasp. The slimy centipede's body was crushing him. The pincers were clacking, preparing to bite his head off, but he was not getting killed by this creature.

He forced that sensation of before in his back, and another heard. The Ceadcem screeched in agony by having its core destroyed and almost let loose Basil, but he would not stop, he forced it again, and another could be heard in the cavern.

The Ceadcem was losing its form. He let go of the lizard and tried to retreat. Yet, Basil bolted from his place, jumped, and smashed the centipede's head against the floor. He ripped and squashed the other nucleus with his other claw, and the Ceadcem became a puddle with some carapaces mixed in it.

Basil slurped and ate the cores with delight. After that, he tried to continue his journey to the water source. Still, doing something so reckless as using your bones as spears was not a good idea if you had your tank almost empty. He stopped and felt the weakness in his body; his bones got lighter. He looked for the spikes he created and ate them too, he was curious about this, but this was for another time because two more Ceadcem were approaching him.
