《The Beginning, The End, And Everything In Between》Chapter 16 [Enrolment]

Sorry I haven't uploaded in a while, here's a gift for bearing with me -----> special present, it's basically what I listen to on repeat, it's one of those songs that you have to watch with the music video
Of course Farren wasn't especially concerned about them seeing her staus, an illusion spell could easily cover up her true staus and replace it but what she was concerned about was one of the testers, a female elf with golden silky hair and a face that looked almost exactly like the one Xavier's memory showed, turns out that Farren had gotten his memories after swallowing his soul, who knew?
The thing that triggered her reaction was the tester for the line Farren was in. Farren stopped thinking about her for a second, it wasn't as if the elf knew she killed her brother so why was Farren worrying?
After a few seconds of moral reassurance Farren stopping feeling panicked.
"Wait... why was I panicking in the first place? I never panic even when I am meeting a relative of someone I killed... wait did I catch feelings from Xaviers soul? No that can't be it, someone would have warned me of the risks... maybe I should get myself tested..."
While Farren was having thoughts that were starting to sound awfuly like an STD awareness ad, she finally reached the front of the line. There were many disappointed faces leaving the school grounds. Creon was a very hard school to get into, you couldn't even bribe the teachers because of the mind spell set up on them by a Soul Mage.
"What's your name?" Said Xavier's sister, Farren gave her the kindest smile she could make and said her name, the lady didn't ask for a last name. the woman wrote it down and asked Farren for some other details like age, whether she was a mage or a warrior and what her species was.
Farren answered most of them honestly, she said she was 8 and that she was both a mage and a warrior, her species was specified as human. She would reveal she was a new species along with the initiation of her plans, Farren smiled at the thought of when her plan will finally happen.
"Ok, now that your basic stats are writen down just put your hand on the crystal and your status will show up on it" The lady said this in a tired voice, she had probably been saying those exact lines to everyone all day, Farren almost pitied her... almost.
"Before we do that lady I have to ask are you Xaviers sister?"
Her eyes widened and all the fatigue that had been showing one her face was wiped away "Why yes, yes I'm Resi and who are you? How do you know my brother? Is he okay?" She responded in rapidfire question

"Woah slow down, my info is already down on that sheet and I know him from when I was journeying here, he accompanied me halfway here and yes he is fine, just~ fine" Farren once again smiled, maybe she had been smiling too much today.
"Anyway back to the topic, I just put my hand on the crystal?" [Farren]
"Yup" [Resi]
Farren put her hand onto the crystal, the blue screen showed up but before Resi could read it Farren cast the spell she had been building in her head.
Status Screen Name: Farren Gender: Female Level: 350 Race: Aefa Titles: Sword Saint, Mage Saint, Little Miss Psychopath, The Progenitor, The Actress, Heart Eater, Slaughterer, The Annoyance, The Hypocrite, Tantrum Thrower Vital Energy Info Mana: ∞ Mana Regeneration: ∞/sec Health: 50 000/50 000 Health Regen: 10 000/min Stamina: 20 000/20 000 Stamina Regen: 10 000/min Affinities Fire: Rank S Water: Rank S Earth Rank S Air: Rank S Light: Rank S Darkness: Rank S Space: Locked Time: Locked Soul: Rank S Warrior Info Strength: 110 000 Agility: 80 000 Dexterity: 8 000 Wisdom: 12 200 Leadership: 10 Attack: 13 000 Constitution: 14 000 Fame: 0 Infamy: 10 010 Charm: 20 000
Farren quickly changed her status, she wiped Resi's memories of the first few seconds so she didn't remember her original status and altered it, the changes were quite significant.
Status Screen Name: Farren Gender: Female Level: 92 Race: Human Titles: Fast Learner, Prodigy Vital Energy Info Mana: 14 000 Mana Regeneration: 1000/min Health: 5000/5000 Health Regen: 100/min Stamina: 2000/2000 Stamina Regen: 100/min Affinities Fire: Rank B Water: Rank A Earth Rank C Air: None Light: None Darkness: None Space: None Time: None Soul: Rank S Warrior Info Strength: 1200 Agility: 800 Dexterity: 1400 Wisdom: 2200 Leadership: 10 Attack: 300 Constitution: 140 Fame: 0 Infamy: 0 Charm: 200
Farren found the affinities particularly fun to 'adjust'. Normally affinities are in-born things but people always had the potential to increase their affinity with an element, if you work hard enough you can even get a new affinity. For example if someone was born with a Rank D affinity for Fire and Rank C affinity for Earth then if you use your magic for these affinities a lot then it would increase you can also bath in mud and grow plants for the Earth or start Fires and burn things for the Fire affinity.
Resi looked at Farren in shock, her stats were of someone B rank maybe even A rank yet here was a 8 year old girl looking at her like it was to be expected, although there were ways to increase affinity they produced slow results.
It would take almost 2 years of burning things constantly for the fire affinity to jump a rank, which meant this girl has spent her whole life concentrated on upgrading her affinities or she is a natural born genius. Resi felt that maybe something good was coming to the Academy.

"U-um, y-you pass" Rsi managed to stutter out, Farren skipped away, She looked at the young girl's back in wonder.
"Ha... too easy... too easy, I thought the teachers would be better than this..." sighed Farren under her breath, she was skipping to the written test, there was a path and signs that said 'Exam Hall' that led to a massive building.
It reminded Farren of her orientation day on Earth, she sighed as she remebered that puppy that was obedient till the very end... well at least until it realised that the person it was following was skinning alive.
"Ahhhh it's whimpers were adorable... I should get a pet in this world!" Farren thought excitedly, if there was an animal god out there they would cry tears of blood if they knew what was out there on the prowl for one of its subjects... poor animal god.
Farren eventually reached the end of the path and entered the massive building, inside it was hundreds of desks and chairs, some filled with other people who had gotten through the status testing, they all looked frustrated at the piece of paper before them.
Farren was delighted to see they were using a quill and ink like in the medieval period, when she had been forced to go through the tutoring her parents made her do to become a proper lady she had (for some reason) learnt calligraphy and her teacher had been rather fixed on doing it in an old fashioned way, it gave her 'class' and a 'more intelligent feel' apparently, she had killed her calligraphy teacher right after she got into high school, the police were certainly befuddled when they saw her chained to the wall stabbed with quills everywhere.
Farren had found it funny because it made her look like a chicken... the police and the teachers family did not.
"Are you a new arrival?" an unknown voice spoke out to her, she assumed it was the tester for the exam
"Yup!" She joyfully replied, it was an unusual reaction for a test, the examiner looked taken aback at how actually happy she was, even they weren't as excited about the test and it was their job.
"A-ah I see... take the desk fourth from the right, inform an examiner when you are ready to begin" Farren followed their instructions and seated herself at the designated desk. She looked at the questions and snorted, the first page of questions weren't questions about magic or swordsmanship, it was basic maths and Ragaish*.
She signaled a nearby examiner and he nodded in response, he headed over to her desk and cast a spell that summoned something like a clock except it started counting. She flew by the first page and just as she got to the second one she stopped, there were five pages in total of the test and although Farren felt confident at first she now slumped into her seat
Q1. If you cast a spell of healing on a broken limb do you have to...
a) Reset bone then heal
b) Heal without resetting
c) You can't heal a broken bone with magic
Farren felt her eyes spinning, she had always concentrated on which way was best to break a bone not fix one, especially not with healing magic. She had barely touched light magic unless it was to heal herself, she had always liked the dark more, she decided to skip the question.
Surely the examiners didn't expect everyone to have knowledge on healing magic? She looked at question two, three and four without answering, suddenly Xaviers memories kicked in. Farren guessed the questions must have triggered them. Xavier was actually pretty good at academics it seems and Farren started filling out her pages.
Soon the timer struck 7 minutes on the weird floating magic clock and Farren signaled the examiner that she was done, the average time to complete the test was 23 minutes so as the examiner came over he showed her a skeptical look that Farren merely shrugged at. He checked her test and showed a shocked face, he signed the page with his signature and the time it took at the top. The whole test looked handwritten so there didn't seem to be boxes to put your name and date in, Farren had put it at the top anyway, she felt like it was the right call as the examiner had written at the top of the page too.
"Please go through the left exit, the sword and magic test are optional if you want to get into the special classes" The examiner said, he enunciated special as if it had a certain meaning to Farren. He undoubtedly wanted her to take the test, Farren once again only shrugged.
"Thank you very much" Farren left after some polite words and headed to the exit, she pondered if she would actually take the test but then thought about her plan for this place. She would have to be in a position where people admired her and looked up to her so she could crush their hearts, she exited through the doorway and realised, that maybe the examiner gave her the wrong directions....

Madness Led by the Hands
‘Great, no… splendid. It was for naught.’ ‘Naught? Depends. If your desire is to send an army of killers our family’s way, yes indeed. If it’s plain survival you seek, then no.’ ‘They don’t coexist?’ ‘What… don’t tell me you’re still all groggy from the fall. Perhaps in novels, but real life is much tougher–––many more times a drag than anyone can possibly imagine. If dusty history is not a reliable teacher for you, then the pandemic surely took that place. At least that one has the advantage you needn’t be literate to savvy how reality always trumps imagination.’ ‘Whatever you say, whatever you say. So… what now?’ ‘Now? Isn’t it obvious? Now we shall survive. And live a good life.’ ‘Ohh… pretty much everything here has something against this little weird wish of ours. Might you consider?’ ‘Then pretty much everything here is a goner.’ ‘Hm, I don’t like the sound of that. Too much trouble, you see. I’d prefer laying low somewhere safe.’ ‘…nobody told you it’s mutually exclusive, no–––or did you forget about that too?’ ‘Fine, then I wish my future enemies all the best.’ ‘They are undeserving of your pity.’ ‘Of course not. That unlucky bunch won’t ever comprehend the reason behind their demise. Just let me smoke in peace and offer my condolence in advance.’ ‘Idem, let me study alchemy, unobstructed by all, if possible. This also includes you. By the way, are you sure you smoke to offer condolences? It seems like an excuse to me.’ ‘I-it is none. Plain truth, you see?’ ‘Seriously, why did I even ask...?’

Cardinal of Sin
They say sin comes at a horrible price. Or...perhaps I'm misremembering the saying. Regardless, I'm usually inclined to agree with the aforementioned statement. When one is held hostage by their own carnal instincts; never being able to fully control their primitive impulses...Well, let's just say, it would destroy a lesser man. That, I know. I died because of my lack of self-control, after all. I must admit, though. I didn't expect to change this belief of mine after meeting my end, but here I am. Breathing. In a world I don't belong; a world of magic. Here I am, whisked into another reality with the power to sin. To conquer.
