《Boss》Chapter 12: Sometimes Rivalry comes from the most unusual circumstances...

Watching the fuzzy little creatures wasn’t getting me anywhere so after a couple of minutes I crawled into the grass and entered the clearing focused on my prey. The grass wasn’t that tall, only coming up about 7 or 8 inches. Nowhere near enough to entirely cover me, but I figured that the rabbits probably only saw in black and white or something like that. As long as I didn’t move when they looked in my direction, I’m sure I would be fine. It was more difficult than I expected, but after a good 20 minutes I was slowly easing myself closer and closer. I had settled on a target a bit separated from the others but I still had trouble since there wasn’t much opportunity to move due to there being so many sets of eyes in the clearing. Often I would sit there minutes at a time before moving a few inches and have to freeze again. I finally got within striking distance of the rabbit I had set my sights on.
It seemed a bit different than the others, where most of the rabbits tended to have brown fur or white fur with odd patterns or some variation in between, this one was pure white. On top of that, it’s fur seemed to be extra fluffy and staring at it gave me the irresistible urge to reach out and touch it. To fondle it. To caress it’s beautiful coat of floof. I pushed my thoughts aside and settled into a position to pounce on it in a quick burst of speed. At that moment I felt flash of pain in my side as I got knocked off balance. Before I could recover I was hit again and was completely knocked off my feet. I spun back to an upright position and searched the area to see what the hell hit me. I orient on 3 rabbits giving me a death glare.
What? Shouldn’t they be running? I glanced at my former target only to see it charging straight at my face and barely duck in time for it’s lunge to go sailing over my face. I feel it jump off my back but before I can find where it’s gonna land, the other three rabbits all charge at me. What the fuck is going on?! I’m a cat 10 times bigger than them! I swipe my paw at the one leading the charge but that exposes me to the other two and I can’t help but yowl in pain as I take a solid hit to my left shoulder from the second one’s horn, I manage to dodge the horn of number 3 but its body still hits me with a solid charge.

Shit! There are too many! I can’t- My thoughts are cut off as I feel a piercing agony from behind. A pain no one should have to feel. I know it was you, Snowball! Have you no shame? I spin around and sure enough, the white furred rabbit took advantage of the distraction his three buddies provided me and attacked my unprotected ass. Rather than immediately attacking the fluffy menace I use my knowledge of group tactics against them and spin back around to face the original 3 rabbits and sure enough bunny number 2 and 3 are charging once again. The first one that I had paw swiped is just now getting up. I jump sideways and slam down one of them as they run past me before I could finish off the one at my feet, I feel more agony as the fluffy terror of white destruction is determined to be a pain in my ass… LITERALLY!!!
That’s IT! I have HAD IT with these damned rabbits! I abandon all common sense and lunge at ‘Snowball’ as I mentally decided to call him. Instead of confronting me the cowardly ball of fuzz turns and scrambles to escape me. Ha! Not likely! Lets see how YOU like being chased! And so, the legendary pursuit of Snowball began. The rabbit ran back and forth all over the clearing desperate to maintain its lead. I was much faster than it, but since I was so much bigger I couldn’t turn on a dime like it could. Every time I was closing the gap, it would do a hairpin turn and I would lose a bit of my hard earned distance on it before I could once again accelerate and close the gap once again.
Looking back now, I am ashamed to say this didn’t go on for a few seconds, not even a minute or two. Nope. the chase lasted at least 20 or thirty minutes. No stops. Just constant running. If anyone had wandered into the clearing during that time, they would be hard pressed to explain what the saw to their friends at the bar that night. A pure white horned rabbit, being chased by a black panther, which was also being chased an additional 2 dozen or so other horned rabbits. At the end, I realized one very sad detail. At no point whatsoever did snowball ever take me seriously. The reason I realized this at the end was because even though I had spent so long, chasing it all over the clearing it wasn’t until the end that it finally ducked down a burrow in the ground that must have been it’s home. At the time I didn’t think anything about it because I was so focused that I tried to hook it with my claws as it went down the hole and completely ignored the horde of rabbits that had been chasing me the whole time. Exhausted with one of my paws jammed down a hole, I didn’t stand much of a chance against over a score of frenzied horned rabbits. I’m ashamed to say that this is probably one of my most humiliating deaths ever. I don’t think I’m ever going to top ‘mutilated by an angry mob of fluffy rabbits’ and apparently, the game agreed with me.

Achievement: It’s Wabbit season!- Attempt to hunt a horned rabbit only to have the tables turned on you in the most humiliating way possible.
I appear in the gray void I now call home and I can’t help but sit there gaping at the ridiculousness of the situation. I, a giant cat which is a perfectly natural predator, got murdered by fucking horned rabbits. “I totally deserve that achievement.” I perk my ears as I swore I could hear the mocking laughter, but of course, when I look around no one is there. “Geez I’m being mocked by my own sanity now.” Deciding not to waste my time beating myself up for my stupidity I proceed to respawn and when I am back in my humble little forest clearing I leap sideways to dodge an incoming attack… Phew. all clear. I was worried Sir Dumbass was gonna be back with his mace of face crushing. Once again, since I don’t know where the fuck I’m at, I pick a random direction and walk. The Sun was up now and shined through the tree canopy occasionally to bring light to this normally dark world between the trees. Last time I went north towards the edge of the forest and the center is a bit south, southeast of where I spawn, so I decided to head to the west this time. My goal is still the edge of the forest but now I realized if I can find something like a road or something, I could use that to guide me to the village instead. I still needed to get in contact with an admin or this game’s equivalent. The best way I could figure out to do that is to do things a monster normally wouldn’t do. If things work out the way I hope, a player might contact one for me or, failing that, enough weirdness happens that I attract their attention on my own.
My plan was the only plan I had and I don’t know what I could do if this doesn’t work. No! It HAS to work! If an admin can’t fix this who can? I might as well give up on EVER getting back to the real world if I don’t start trying. I journey westwards. I’m not sure what lies ahead of me in my travels, but what matters is that I press ever onwards. Not stopping for anything. Unless I see Snowball. If I ever find him, I am going to... I don't KNOW what I'm going to do to him when I find him, but whatever it is, it's going to be horribly humiliating for him.
