'In the dark and damp cave, Philip had just finished collecting his loot.'
"Let me see… Around 1000 of these creatures were slain here today." He said as he thought
"The Snake ate around half, leaving me with half of the loot."
The claws, teeth, eyes, scales, and the strange feathers on top of their heads, are the parts that are the most likely to be valuable.
Unfortunately, there were no commissions requesting items this deep in the Dungeon… At least, from the ones that girl gave me.
To put it in perspective, a Dungeon floor consists of an area of around 10 meters in length from top to bottom.
So, if height 0 is the entrance to the Dungeon; the first ten floors go from height 0m to height -100m.
But I am already double that… Triple?
The Dungeon core would be at the deepest point or the most secure place near that point, after all, sometimes, the deepest point may not be the safest to the core.
Although, 90% of the time, the core will be deep enough to be considered to be within the Underground zone.
(If you don't remember there are 4 zones, the surface, the underground, the high skies, and the deep oceans)
"Should I continue?" Asked Philip as he checked his pocket watch
Barely 10 p.m.
I must say I am quite fast.
"And I am not tired in the least…"
'Philip suddenly noticed he was drenched in blood, he was so used to this he didn't really feel it.'
'The blood on his clothes suddenly came to life as it slowly gathered on his hand, making something akin to a water ball.'
/Splash…/
'Philp threw the ball in the bonfire, extinguishing it.'
'He wasn't clean, but he didn't look as if he just came back from War.'
"I am not really tired and compared to sleep, getting stronger is more important." He said as he got up
'He went to the border of the ravine and stared at the abyss.'
"It's at least a 100M fall… Perhaps over 100M?" He said as he scratched his chin
Yolo!
'Philip took a step forward and took the plunge.'
…
/BANG!/
'Philip crashed into the hard floor of the Dungeon, creating a small crack on the ground.'
'The impact of his body against the ground was barely enough to shake the sturdy walls of the Dungeon.'
"So? Where to go from here?"
'Philip took out the flute and summoned the Snake, getting on top of its head as they continued their mystical journey on the underground depts…'
…
[Lv 34]
"... Is that a spider or a turtle?" Said Philip as he looked at the strange abomination in front of him
Its level is rather low, is this one of those cases where it's big and scary but lacks substance?
Or could it be a creature that despite its low Level is very strong? Being of a higher quality than other creatures in the same Level range as it?
'It had a turtle's shell, but it had 10 openings for the spider legs and head. It didn't have an abdomen, but it did have an opening at its rear where a substance similar to silk was somehow released from.'
"A crab? It does look like one…"
If crabs were 20 meters tall and had fangs…
/SCREEECHHH!/
'The creature released an extremely acute scream that pierced deep into Philip's ears.'
"Why do these giant creatures have such unpleasant screams?" Said Philip as he scratched his ears
Advertisement
"Tssss…"
"Want to have a go at it? Go for it." Said Philip as he jumped from the snake
'Like a bolt, the giant snake sprung forward like a spring, biting the creature's leg off.'
"It's like a movie." Said Philip as he sat on the ground to watch the show
By my calculations and memory of the path we took we should be beyond 400M underground, probably close to the 500M mark.
After the 200M mark, beyond the ravine, this place started to behave and look like a proper Dungeon.
Monsters became more frequent and stronger, their attack patterns more diverse.
Exotic wildlife started to become more common, probably due to the lack of human contact in the past few years.
The average Level of monsters is already beyond my Skill's effective range, so this Spider-Crab 'Low Level' is rather surprising.
/BANG!/
'The fight between the Snake and the crab was still going…'
'The snake had already broken off 3 legs, noticing its foe strength, the spider retreated back into its shell.'
'This action greatly pissed the hungry snake that is now banging its body on the shell since its head is too big to fit into the holes of the shell.'
"HAHAHAHA!" Laughed Philip as he watched the scene
"HISSSS!" Hissed the snake aggressively towards the Spider-Crab
"Give up, that shell seems rather sturdy." Said Philip as he got up
'In a flash, Philip turned into mist as he reappeared next to the snake and the spider.'
'The shell hole was big enough for him to enter, in fact, he could see the spider head in the dark, its 4 pairs of eyes gazing silently at him from the dark.'
'The massive fangs twice his size moved as if waiting for him to get distracted…'
"Only a crazy man would enter this place after seeing such a thing… Good thing I am crazy…" Said Philip as he entered the hole
/BANG!/
'A few seconds after he entered the shell, a loud banging sound echoed from inside it.'
"Eww… This blood is super viscous…" Said Philip as he stepped out of the hole
'He shook his shoes but the thing was like glue.'
"A normal person might drown if this shit fell on their face…" He said as he used his blood control to move the substance from his body
"Tsk, even trying to move it through blood control is still a pain in the ass…" He said as he got away from the spider's body
"... You are not planning to eat that are you?" Asked Philip as he looked at the snake
"Tss?..."
"Give up on it, let's continue on our way." Said Philip as he turned around and continued deeper in the cavern
'The snake took a last look at the shell before reluctantly turning around and slithering away.'
…
/At the same time on the surface…/
/Ding dong… Ding dong…/
'Back at the Dungeon shop, a large clock started making noises to indicate it was 12 Pm.'
"Finally!" Said the clerk girl
'She went to the desk and picked a small box, placing her student badge on top of it and retrieving her credits.'
'Looking at the small yet not meager amount made her release a long sigh…'
"When will I gather enough for that?"
Tsk, being from a common Family is rough business…
'She took a look towards the golden door and let out yet another sigh.'
Another one…
No one will remember him in this place…
Advertisement
At least, I hope there will be someone to mourn for him… But is that really a good thing?
'She shook her head.'
"I still need to finish that assignment… Sigh… Focus!" She said as she scratched her eyes
'This wasn't an uncommon sight, from her predictions, there was a big chance he went deep into the Dungeon, only to get bit by a poisonous creature and he didn't manage to come back on time.'
'Many died like this only to be found a few floors close to the entrance some days later…'
'She made her way to the door before she gave the keys to the guards.'
'They guards would never stop their watch over the Dungeon, the night was just another time of the day for them to protect the entrance.'
'Of course, they weren't machines, soon they would change the guards and the other ones would go back to rest. And the cycle continues.'
'Being this deep in the academy, the chances of any intruder coming this far are extremely low.'
'In fact, it had been half a century since the last intrusion inside the academy…'
'And even if an intruder came this far, what were the chances of a bunch of 'normal' guards from stopping him anyway?'
'It's mostly for the students' own safety.'
…
/Back in the Dungeon…/
"In this it?... The Midpoint?" Asked Philip as he looked at the massive wall in front of him
'Yes, a wall!'
'Every Dungeon has a special place inside called the 'Midpoint'.'
'It's a place where the Dungeon difficulty suddenly spikes due to the proximity with the Underground zone and the Core.'
'Just because the name is 'Midpoint' it doesn't have to be in the middle of the Dungeon.'
'Most of the time, there are visual and other indicators for it, and in this case, the Academy actually built a massive wall separating the two sections of the Dungeon.'
'Once again, to protect the students from being ambushed by an Underground creature that made its way up... Or for them to make bad decisions and decide to go down.'
'And despite the many decades of neglect, the wall still stands tall with little to no cracks in it.'
"The engineering of this world never ceases to amaze me." Said Philip
How do I get to the other side?
'Philip went from one corner of the wall to another, he looked at the ceiling but the wall was tall enough to touch it.'
'The only way to the other side seemed to be through brute force, but that's a paradox since the Academy would never seal a section for no reason.'
"There is either a secret method, or they sealed this place for some reason."
Breaking the walls doesn't seem like a possibility either.
They may look like ordinary rocks, but these are caverns transformed by the Dungeon over the centuries, it's hard as fuck…
And I am sure the Academy is not stupid enough to make a wall that is tougher that the Dungeon walls…
Even if I can, I need to think of the repercussions...
Such as, what if there is something really scary on the other side?
Or if I piss off some Archmage...
'Philip took a few more looks around, inspecting the wall and ground.'
"Nothing, I can't see shit."
I'll just focus on the library, for now, perhaps I can find something in there that can help me pass this barrier?
I don't think asking the personnel of the Academy would be a good idea…
"No matter, I can call it a day." He said as he turned around
It's not like I need to cross this place, if I sell all of the materials I made today, wouldn't that be more than enough?
"Hiss…"
'The big Snake came behind Philip and touched his back with its head.'
"You? Well, do what you wish." Said Philip as he looked at the snake teary eyes
Look at it… Would you believe this is a nightmarish creature that has an undying thirst for blood?
Why did it change?... It's overly docile.
"I will only give you a few orders before I leave, don't go beyond the ravine and if you see any Human or similar creatures, flee first, but if they go after you, you are allowed to retaliate."
"If they prove to be too strong try to flee and return to the nightmare plane out of sight… Did you hear me? OUT of sight." Said Philip
'The snake looked at Philip with its big eyes, it didn't seem as if the snake understood shit…'
"Great, see you later." He said as he waved his hands and turned into mist
…
"..."
Aren't I a genius?
If I leave the snake behind, it will surely annihilate all life within a few days in the cave.
Free Xp for me.
"I just hope it's enough." He said as he pondered
Each Level of this Class consumes more resources to Level up.
It's honestly insane.
…
/One hour later…/
/Creaaak…/
'The golden doors in the Dungeon shop slowly opened as Philip pushed.'
"Cough!"
'Philip took a step out of the Dungeon, coughing along the way due to the excessive dust.'
'He had a massive sack that he was carrying on his back.'
'He looked around and noticed the presence of the guards, they seemed different from before.'
"Night watch?" He whispered to himself
'He slowly made his way to the door before one of the guards moved and said:'
"Excuse me sir, but it isn't allowed to bring Dungeon-related items without proper verification out of this facility." Said the guard near the golden door
'Philip turned around and looked at the Guard.'
"If you don't mind, allow me to help you process your things." Said the Guard as he turned to the side and made his way to the desk
'Philip followed the guard in silence.'
"Let me see… Can I have your identification code?" Asked the guard as he placed his badge on the small box on top of the desk
"21-A78" Said Philip without hesitation
"... I see your commissions now, just leave them on the table and the system will evaluate them." Said the guard as he went to the side and passed a button hidden beneath the desk
'With a light mechanical noise, a large plate extended from the side of the table.'
"Just put the items in there and let the magic do its work." Said the guard
"Okay."
This guard seems oddly friendly…
'Philip put his large sack on top of the plate and opened it, revealing its contents.'
'Fangs, claws, scales, and other strange parts were all stacked on top of each other.'
'There were even some vials filled with strange substances.'
I knew it, this guy isn't your normal Warden.
How lucky of me, the 1% fee will be quite generous...
Being kind to these pathetic fucks has finally paid out...
'The guard nodded at Philip and continued to type on the system window…'
{Processing request accepted}
'Suddenly, a voice resounded near the two, and a small green ball materialized on top of the items.'
/BZZZ…/
'A green beam was released from the ball as it slowly scanned the items.'
'After a few seconds, the beam disappeared and the ball vanished.'
{Processing has finished}
'The guard eyes went back to the system window and it noded.'
"Alright, no problems here, just put your badge on the small compartment… Exactly, right there." He said as he pointed to a small crevice in front of Philip
"There are a few more items, according to the rules, they can't leave this place." Said the guard
"You can choose to sell them immediately or put them on display, if the item is not considered as dangerous or your reason is within the codex of rules, you may take it with you after paying a small fee since these items are still considered Academy property." Said the guard
"I'll just sell everything." Said Philip
Putting it on display? To who? You all?
No one comes here, and I doubt someone with enough resources to buy this would pass through this place anytime soon...
{Credits have been transferred into your account}
'Philip suddenly heard a message from the Academy system in his ears.'
"Alright, all done." Said the guard as he removed his badge from the box and put it on his chest again
"Just one thing, it's already late in the night, staying out of your room without a pass is a breach in the rules, so take this, it's a pass, it's only effective for half an hour, so make your way back to your room." Said the guard
'Philip nodded, but he asked:'
"What happens if someone is seen out of his room at this time?"
"It depends on the time, place, who, and what the person was doing at the time. The penalty may range from a few credits fee and a warning to immediate expulsion." Said the guard
"I understand."
'Philip nodded to the guard and left, his way was surprisingly smooth.'
'It seems that not all guards are corrupt assholes…'
'At least not corrupt...'
…
"Awww…" Yawned Philip as he got up from his bed
'He scratched his eyes as he looked at the vintage clock near his bed.'
"It's 7 Am already?" Said Philip in surprise
'He got up from bed and stretched.'
"I guess this is what I get for not resting properly for several days…"
[+ 1092 Blood Echoes]
"... He's still at it…" Said Philip with a smile
What a hard-working guy.
It's time for me to train as well right?
"But… I won't work today." Said Philip as he went to the bathroom
I got a rather generous amount of Credits by finishing over 3 dozen commissions and selling even more materials.
It should be enough for me to Rank up and have enough left to spend.
"For the next few days, I'll focus on improving my Skills and increasing my repertoire of knowledge."
I'll gather more credits by doing a few tasks in the library from time to time, perhaps, I should gather enough so when I Rank up once, I can at any point Rank up again.
Of course, there are some dangers in Ranking up, I would lose access to the library tasks since they are meant for Rank 1 personnel and my responsibilities would also increase or should I say, they would have more weight since I would be assigned to Rank 2 tasks.
Also, I need to start preparing by gathering info on the students and the environment of the Academy.
By the time I feel I have improved enough, I can proceed to the next step of the plan.
"Talking about Skills… Didn't one of them Level up?"

"This one, it was indeed a surprise."
The last thing that was missing… It was being brutal with myself.
Just like Maria was brutal with her enemies, she was just as brutal with herself.
Using my own body as a weapon, not just a meager amount of blood…
"But with this… All Hunter Abilities apart from the one I made myself are maxed out…"
"This is a problem, I can't see anything higher than this."

Perhaps… I should try that.
"Even if it fails, I still have their notes with me. I could theoretically recover these Abilities if I train enough."
'Philip sat on his bed as he moved his hand to the side, opening his main system window.'

Is it bad to like it though?

"I'll make my own."

[Pthumerian Combat art(Modified) Lv 7
Description:
The Pthumerians were superhuman beings said to have unlocked the wisdom of the eldritch Truth.
The old labyrinth carved out by them is known to be a place in which inquiry into the cosmos started.
Early Pthumerians served as guardians of the Great Ones and before being cursed, this art served as their method of combat, but it also served as a way to revere their Monarchs and their civilization.
Thought to be long lost, a Hunter successfully recovered this art and repurposed it into a suitable combat technique for Humans to use, while increasing its sharpness and brutal natures by removing its superficial moves previously used to please nobility and for religious purposes.

'And then… Silence.'
"Heh, for some reason I expected something else to happen…" Said Philip as he smile lightly
[You recovered an ancient combat art through hard work!]
[You have achieved an outstanding achievement!]
[Ancient Explorer Title has evolved into Ancient Archeologist]
"Oh? I really got something…"
I didn't expect to actually get anything… I was just joking…
As time passes, the opportunities to get achievements for being the first to do something are only decreasing.
For example, as early as my first day in this world, I got an achievement for being the first Human Hero to achieve several things.
What does that mean?
It means that there are several other Heroes summoned that have somehow achieved that faster than me, someone who had 5 months in a dream to get stronger.
To be honest, this Title used to be very useful back in the dream…
Ancient Explorer was pretty simple. It is an evolution from a series of Explorer Titles; it used to give me many boosts depending on the place I was "Exploring".
And this one is the same, but it gives me a bit more of everything.
"If I ever find myself in a ruin this is the Title to equip." Said Philip happily
"Now I have something to train in the meantime… But first, a bath."
…
/Several hours later…/
'Philip went to the library where he spent his entire day reading books like a maniac before returning back to his house when the day was close to ending.'
'If you forgot, his house was located inside a series of secret pathways, leading to a private house hidden inside the academy.'
'In there he trained his new combat art in order to understand its intricacies and move sets.'
/CRACK!/
"ARG! MY FUCKING BACK!" Screamed Philip out loud as he swung his sword down
'Philip could be seen in the front garden of the house, without his shirt and holding the Darklight sword without its chains.'
"This shitty technique! Why does it put so much pressure on my body despite me being much stronger than a normal man?!" Complained Philip
"Phew… I need to calm down."
If I can't perform these techniques, it just means I am still too weak physically which is very surprising.
My body constitution is the sum of my Class stats with my main status.
I was supposed to be way stronger than any Hunter has ever dreamed of.
But perhaps that's the problem, Hunters are human in the end.
"This will take a while to master." Said Philip as he swung his sword down again
'This time, embers seemed to circle his sword as he swung it.'
'Once, twice, thrice, each time he swung his sword, the number of embers increased until his sword was clad in fire.'
"..."
Previously, to do this, I had to consume an incredible amount of stamina to burn the blood and make it burn.
I can still do that, but the consumption seems just a bit lower.
"I can just jump the tiresome task of gathering blood and burn my sword immediately…"
I can just use fire paper if needed…
'Philip looked at a small boulder 10 M away from him and pierced the air with his sword.'
/Swush!/
'A red beam of fire was released from the tip of his sword, but it dissipated halfway through.'
"I'll get this right… Eventually…"
[+ 2300 Blood Echoes]
"I can't stop when that guy is working just as hard." Said Philip as he lifted his sword once again
'His body wasn't overly muscular but it was very fit, there were no scars in it, and in truth, he seemed rather pale…'
'Was that an effect of the blood infusion perhaps?'
…
/A few days later…/
"209… 210… 2… 2…" Said Philip as he swung his sword
/PLOFT!/
'Philip, who could be seen training in the garden, fell face-first on the ground due to exhaustion.'
"Harf… Harf…"
/Ding dong…/
'Suddenly, a clock that was positioned near his training ground started to release some sounds, indicating it was 6 Pm.'
"I guess this is enough for today." He said as he drank some water from a water bottle
'He took a towel from his inventory and dried his face.'
"It's time to Rank up."
One week… It has been one week since I left for this adventure.
"I don't think I can get any stronger than this."
I mean, I already got used to this new technique, and I even leveled a few Skills up.
The only thing I can see myself being able to improve on is my Class stats…
So, let's do that right now.
/Snap!/
'Philip snapped his finger, and from the ground, a water fountain appeared.'
'And from inside, a bunch of ghostly white creatures emerged.'
'They were rather horrifying, but the many funny and cute hats on their head seemed to say otherwise…'
"Hello, my fellows? Excited?"
"Waaa… Haaa…"
'The creatures every word seemed like wails to Philip, so he ignored it since he could not understand their language at all.'
"Alright, Snake completely cleaned the Dungeon yesterday's night, so I hope it was enough."
(N1)
It would be a pain to use this tactic in other Dungeons. Different from this one, the other Dungeons are rather frequented.
And releasing a massive snake inside wouldn't really be discreet…
Much less a Snake that is constantly hungry.
"Pour it all on Arcane baby!" Said Philip

"There are too many great choices but…"
For the Ability section, it's a no-brainer that I will choose the Pthumerian Combat art.
The rest is very good. Super Human senses? A must-have, Greater Riposte? Incredibly versatile…
Not to mention my stealth Mastery and other Skills. But compared to the previous two, they can be nurtured over time.
I just need time…
As for the Skill part.
Multi-Task is the most useless since my Trait already does that for me to a certain extent, if I were to choose this there is a big chance it would be engulfed by my Trait like what happened when I came into this world.
It would have the least effects.
The other three are hard choices.
Critical Strike would be perfect for my main Status, it lacks active abilities for me to use, and with my other Abilities, this Skill's value would increase significantly.
But it's a skill that I already know how to get, if I have enough time on my hands I would probably be able to get it sometime in the future.
Predator's presence is something I can't think of being able to get at all if not through here.
I don't know how I got it in the first place, perhaps because of the constant fighting in the dream world?
Looking tough?
And finally the Summon messenger Shop.
It may seem goofy, but this is an incredible Skill.
To be able to buy supplies and other items at any point in time… It's incredible.
Even more, when you consider this Skill is greatly limited by the world it came from.
What if I was to remove that limitation?
Of course, other problems would arise… Such as, what would be the new currency?
Perhaps, moving it from here might turn it useless.
"The safest choice is Critical Strike, the one with the most potential is Predator's presence, and the third one is a massive gamble that could either waste this opportunity or make the most out of it…"
"I made my choice." Said Philip with confidence

Mystique is the only thing below 100 at this point.
The only reason why it surpassed 100 last time was due to the effects of me making a contract with the red vase artifact.

Now, he has no memory of his ill-fated deal and is desperate to break free of the hold the Demon King and his minions have on him, but escaping their clutches may prove to be more difficult than any battle he’s ever faced. (Author's note: I've had writers block on this for a while but recently hired a professional editor. I don't think it will be much longer before I have new chapters. A cover is also in discussion. I won't just drop it. Thanks to Papillion for the cover!!!)
8 183A Forgotten Hero
(author: This is gonna be a long synopsis I apologise. This should be a prolouge but as you will see I have a seperate prolouge, please forgive me. This fiction as a warning beforehand is as basic as it comes, prettymuch following all story conventions of both the mecha and school life genres. I am mostly writing this to figure out my writing style before I begin something truly creative and uique. I dont wanna ruin something I worked hard on by being illiterate. Also illustrations are at a minimum because all I have access to is MS paint.) In the year 2028 humanity (accidentally) created the means to travel great distances through space in a short period of time. This has led humanity down the road of great technological advancement and also led to the spread of humanity across their home system and just begiining first steps upon other solar systems planets. In the year 2033 the human colonies in space broke from the chains of their old countries creating hyper advanced societies disregarding nationality and any other defining factor. Two space societies formed the Solar Empire a monarchic society with its capitol on the moon Titan which controeld the entire human home system aside from Earth which still remained divided into seperate contries. The other was the Extra-solar Leauge. A mysterious society outside of easy contact range with any other humans besides themselves. To help with construction and other work outside of sealed and breatheable atmospheres of their cities and ships the Solar Empire and Extra-Solar Leauge created what became known as Advanced Movement Shells(AMS). These machines are best described as huge exoskeletons or "mechs", and they aided greatly in getting things done by increasing strength, durability, and the amount of tools able to be used. They also aided in quelling rebellions among extremist groups forming in these new societies. Finally in the year 2050 the Solar Empire having divinated their emperor, and now beliving themselves to be their religions chosen people, the Solar Empire declared a holy war of conquest against all the nations of Earth in order to conquer it under the idea that all humanity was required to bend to their divine emperors rule. The first month of the war whent badly for earth as the divided nations fell one by one due to the Empires superior weaponry among other technologies which made their forces nearly invincible. The AMS were used to great effect due to their almost "magical" level of technological advancement. Some nations able to put up some kind of defense created their own versions of these technological terrors. From there the war became a brutal stalemate and suddenly was won by the forces of earth. Why this is still hasn't come to the light of the common man, but one thing is for certain it took a heroic effort from one, or many people to win it for humanity...

For that is the mission that I have given you. 8 194The Flame in the Forge (A Slice of Life Isekai LitRPG)
Thrown into a world he doesn’t recognise, Niall Vendra has to adapt, learn and fight to survive. Physically, emotionally, personally. If Niall wants to save his family, then the man he was needs to transform. Surrounded by Minotaurs, Fae and Magic, Niall will have to reinvent himself as both a warrior and an artisan. Growth won’t be fast and it won’t be easy, but with patience and hard work, Niall can earn the Skills, Abilities and Classes to battle his way to the top. The Flame In The Forge is a LitRPG Isekai/Portal fantasy. You should expect slice of life with conflict and an overarching mystery to be solved. Niall will be both a crafter (primarily, but not exclusively, as a blacksmith) and a fighter. There won’t be a harem. But don't worry, there will be both flames and forges! I should be clear that while this is very much LitRPG, it's story led and I have tried to make it feel believable. So, for example, the first blue box doesn't appear until chapter 6. I hope that the payoff is worth it. Compared to some LitRPGs you may find the pace rather gentle at times. There will be some periods where it feels like Niall is eking out every level and others when, for good reasons, he makes a significant leap. My goal though is to give you a satisfying story, so that dictates when and how Niall's stats and skills change. I can reassure you that I fully intend for Niall to become immensely powerful, but I want you to feel like he has earned every level in a realistic way.
