《Kenosis of the Light Bearer》Chapter 12 - New Record Set

Lucif looked up at them with confusion in his eyes, “What do you mean? It’s a tornado kick, or was I supposed to do each spin with a full 1080 rotation? I only did a half to save energy, you understand right? Alright, let’s do it again then. I’ll do the full movements but I feel like I’ll spew up my breakfast at this rate.”
“I told you not to eat kid but you didn’t listen huh? Damn brat.”
One of the workers chimed in with a few words of his own, “A tornado kick? That was amazing! I’ve never seen anyone move like that before. What was the score?”
They turned to the machine as it loaded the results.
Kicks per second: 1.7
Strength: 1.6
Total Kicks: 90
A sound went out over the intercom automatically as the computer made an announcement to everyone in the mines.
New record set! Kicking record of 89 held by ID [313] Buckaroo Arlo has been broken by ID [666] Lucifer Akira.
$10,000 has been added to your account.
2000 Meal tickets have been added to your account.
Lucifer’s lit up when he saw this. “Wow, you get rewards if you break records?”
“Damn kid, what a surprise. Who knew you were so talented? What do you call that move anyway?”
“You mean my kicking? It’s just a simple martial arts tornado kick.”
“Martial arts?”
“Yes, martial arts. Are you saying you don’t know what martial arts are?”
They shook their head, “I’ve never heard of such a thing”
Lucif slowly came to a realization and he made a guess but he didn’t know if he was right or not. ‘As technology advanced and peoples weapons and bodies grew more powerful they abandoned martial arts because to them it seemed mundane or perhaps martial arts were seen as barbaric and were banned.’
He didn’t know for sure but it was a good a guess as any.
“Kid, can you show me that move again and how you did it.” Buckaroo suddenly became interested as well as the boss and the guards.
Lucif saw a golden opportunity appear before his eyes, “Sure, I can teach you. But it’ll cost ya.”

“Ya damn brat, who’s been buying your meals all year?” Buckaroo snickered and berated him.
Lucif felt a bit guilty when he heard that, “Alright, alright, you can learn for free but the rest of you have to pay!” He was quite forceful with his words. He knew there was no backing down at this point. If he showed weakness before these vicious predators they would pounce and take advantage of him.
“Sure, I don’t mind paying.” The rest nodded in agreement. Super humans had an undying passion to better themselves and grow stronger, it’s like something inside of them was always driving them to succeed. That’s why they were such valued workers, well that and their super strength.
Things were looking good. These super humans were all rich from their days and days of hard mining. A lot of them were saving up to free their relatives so he couldn’t rip them off too badly but he could figure out a price than was reasonable later on. This would be the start of his marital arts dojo, now all he needed was a cool name.
He had just earned himself 10 thousand dollars and he was keen to earn some more. If he could break three more records then he could pay for his sisters first year of tuition.
“Alright, let’s move on to the next test.”
The next test was a stationary hard bag target for punching. “You have one minute to punch as many times as you can, each punch must have a force of 100 kilograms behind it to be counted. You may start now.”
The timer clicked and he started his barrage of strikes. When he was 21 and already an accomplished man he started to new learn yet another fighting style, it was called Wing Chun. He sought out the strongest Wing Chun master and asked him to teach him.
He was instantly refused.
“Please master, please teacher me the sacred Wing Chun martial art.”
“You are only 21 yet your hands are stained with the blood of many people. Your aura is that of a fierce beast. This Wing Chun martial art is not for fierce beast but for those that move like flowing water.”

“Please master, please teach me the sacred Wing Chun martial art.” He clasped hands and bowed one more time. The master didn’t respond yet Lucifer held the same pose for 3 days and 3 nights.
The sage let out a soft sigh.
“Okay kid, even an old sage like me will get annoyed if you stay there so headstrong like that. I’ll give you a chance, if you can beat me barehanded and in single combat I will teach you everything I know. You will become my legacy apprentice and I will pass down the secret art that only direct successors of the Wing Chun martial art can learn.”
And so it was, Lucifer was given his chance to learn Wing Chun. So what was the result you wonder? Isn’t it obvious? Lucifer who was a young fit man, who at the time held 12 gold medals and 19 black belts, 8 of those gold medals in boxing, judo, taekwondo and wrestling verses a man who’s over 100 years old with one foot in grave and 80% blindness?
The result was so obvious that even a flying pig could guess correctly. Lucifer was beaten, crushed, broken and defeated. The Wing Chun master unleashed a flurry of punches, he managed to block one or two but those punches were followed by a hundred more, then a thousand, then ten thousand. His fists were so fast that they were invisible. His rock hard abs amounted to nothing under the onslaught of punches. If the old master wasn’t a merciful man it was quite clear that Lucifer would have lost his life that day.
But it didn’t dishearten him, he returned a few months later after he had healed and challenged him again.
And again….
And again….
And again and again….
8 years past, he returned to the Olympics twice and won more gold medals. He had already challenged the grand master more than 300 times during these 8 years. He was fitter than ever and the Pivac Mafia had grown into the Pivac Dynasty.
In the 7 years prior he had gone out and mastered other martial arts earning him another 13 black belts but all these styles failed to measure up. During this last year he created his own style called the four elements martial arts. He came closer than he ever had before, all he had to do was finally perfect his own martial art and he would be able to beat the old monster. Now 6 months had come and gone.
It was finally time, the final challenge had come. This time he would beat the grand master and learn the true nature of Wing Chun.
But woe and behold the grand master had died without passing on his secret techniques. The grand masters death shocked him and he felt his heart tremble in agony. One of the practitioners at the temple came down and handed a golden letter to Lucif before quickly making his escape.
Over the years he had come to view this old man as his master even though he taught him nothing. His own skills had improved as the old man beat him down time and time again. The old man’s beatings had shown him where he was lacking. In fact, it was extremely unfair for other Olympic athletes because they were simply amateurs compared to him.
Not because they lacked talent, some were even more talented than him. But what they lacked was a true master to test their skills against.
He made his way out of the temple and slowly opened the golden letter to read it. He focused his attention as he sucked back his emotions when he read the letter. But after he finished it he felt like biting his own fist.
“Argh, damn you old man!” He scrunched it up and threw it on the ground, before sneering to himself and catching a helicopter home.
On the letter it read:
Heh, you cheeky kid. You actually thought you could beat me? Hah, you were pretty close to beating me last time so I went ahead and died before you could hahaha. Now you will never beat me stupid brat.
Signed, the man who whooped your ass.
Again….
And again….
And again and again….

The Destiny of a Mortal God (Hiatus)
Currently on hiatus, in part because I'm unsatisfied with how the story was starting to develop, and even though I had ideas how to run it, I still made mistakes far too big to correct them. Secondly I'm currently stressed about university, and sincerely, I don't see myself keeping this project. I may or may not retake this project or even start a new one, but one thing's for sure, it isn't happening anytime soon (Meaning until june, aprox, or until I can keep up with class). ... Lyon Ironblood, 19 years old and orphan, is taken by Kronos from the present Earth to another world, where he shall fight and struggle to get stronger so that he shall acomplish the mission Kronos assigned him. He shall fight gods, demons, dragons and monsters and even mortals who surpass those. But to do so he shall receive, though only after he proved himself worthy, a power beyond imagination. This power will not be handed freely to him, and he'll have to work hard to develop it. He shall receive the X-Men System. A magic system designed to enhance Lyon and give him the mutations from the X-Men serie. He shall start from scratch, with powers that will seem less than a mere human, and develop them with effort, to surpass the gods. [I don't claim ownership of any of the X-Men powers or characters, neither the cover, only thing I claim are the ideas which make the story and put together their powers, how they'll develop from scratch to even higher worlds than they were suposed on the series, other than that, all X-Men characters named (which I'll try to avoid to a certain point) are not of my property]

Gaslgiht
There is a common line of questioning that falls upon students within their first moments at Kingsly. “Why?”. The student asks, “Why am I here?”. This is a futile line of questioning. There are those who remember, and those who do not. I’ll spare you the technical explanation — that’s what we have teachers for. The jist is as follows: those who remember are... how do I put this... more likely. They occupy more time. and the space that time has allowed them — the pertinent amount — is experienced no matter what. Allow me to offer you a bit of personal information: I am not one who remembers. There is no time relevant to me, no space that I occupy. I exist by carving myself here, and continue to exist in the same fashion. You would do well to follow suit. Why am I here? Because I force myself to be. Because the universe, the universes, for all its kicking and screaming, cannot escort me out.

Mark of the Lash
Born from a precarious relationship between a Drow and his prize, Serena Lash struggles to find her place, and herself, as she fights to persevere through the hardships life throws her way. A story born from a D&D game I am currently a part of. The narrative will follow the events of the campaign as closely as possible, with some events having been tweaked to better fit into a written story. A slow burn, the narrative does skip around a bit due to the nature of the campaign, considering that not everything in the game needs to be written about. This will begin to peter out the further the story progresses, but for the first parts, expect a bit of skipping!
