《New God》Day Twelve - Map

Adam looked at his map to work out what to do with the rest of his afternoon. He couldn't go back into the forest with no SP to activate stealth and couldn't practice magic with no MP. With little else to do and question he wanted answering in the back of his head he jogged to the mine.
It was an enjoyable experience after the physical stress of sneaking through the forest mental fatigue of enhancing his fire mana channels. All the tension in his body had gone by the time he reached the entrance to the mine. He was also no longer afraid of the spiders realising that despite the intensity of the fight he had never checked his HP after. The details were still there in his log. He had lost ten points in total and had ninety spare. While he felt like it was life or death it seemed that wasn't really the case and if he had run away he would have been fine.
Activating torch twice with the SP that had built up Adam entered the mine. He moved quickly down into the depths aiming for the first side tunnel. Placing one torch he threw the second down the main branch and was rewarded with a glimpse of a cave spider scuttling back away into the darkness. His hunch was right, the spiders had returned. He had wondered this when he noticed the Mine, entrance was still labelled as level 2.
Curiosity and a hope for some easy experience he picked up both torches and continued down into the mine; the spider keeping ahead of him out of the light. He hadn't wanted to waste any mana on Discern but the skill was locked to the boar still so he focused on the spider to allow him to locate the others too. By the time he reached the last fork in the tunnel four spiders were gathered outside the light. Waving both torches in front of him he made his way towards the nest at the end of the tunnel.

The Queen spider was in the nest along with most the smaller cave spiders. They were losing their fear of the fire in place of a need to protect their home. As the Queen started to respond to his presence he threw one of the torches into the flammable webbing he knew existed further down the tunnel. If it had been anything other than spiders he might have felt more guilty as he ran back out of the mine; not stopping until he reached the entrance again. The hissing Queen had chased him most the way. A flaming fury that fell behind as he distanced himself from the nest.

Four spiders down he didn't have any desire to go back in the mine. Especially not with a pissed off Queen Cave Spider waiting somewhere. He found himself leant back against the rocks next to the mine once more for the second day in a row. With an additional forty exp he increased Elemental manipulation to level four and was one step closer to reaching his goal of increasing God class.

Palus Somni
It is the final days after the end of the world and you only have one month left before the last sanctuary erupts into chaos. There's a dead body hanging from a tree and cadaverous giants watch you sleep at night. The end is already here, you just don't know it yet. Now rated in the top 3% of all novels on Royal Road! Palus Somni (‘Marsh of Sleep’) is a worldbuilding webnovel about what happens when your God forsakes you. Inspired by gothic horror and mingled with British myth and folklore, join the Alucinari nuns as they struggle with day-to-day life after the world has ended. Every night when the sun sets the monstrous Gol, colossal beings with too many teeth, awaken and roam the marshlands. Only those with a faithful heart will be spared. Young acolyte Wille has never seen the walls fail, but when a fellow nun is murdered within their sanctum the very safety of the monastery is thrown into question. Did the Gol find a way to breach their defences, or is there a human traitor amongst them? The answer lies both far in the past and deep beneath the earth, through the maze of ancient catacombs. With a cast of over thirty different characters, watch as your friends and enemies spiral into inevitable madness at the hands of a callous and unforgiving world. Discover the secrets of Palus Somni through letters, diary entries and notes found scattered across the monastery. Uncover the mystery of the grotesque giants that stalk the night and bring your challenge to the Gods themselves. Each character has their own handmade pixel art, and every update includes a music recommendation for a dark atmospheric dungeon synth album that you can listen to while you read. Slice of life meets cosmic abomination: Palus Somni is a collection of intertwining stories, some chapters are stand-alone tales while others feed into the overarching narrative. It is an exploration into a community, and rather than focusing on any one character the story meanders through the convent, exposing the hopes and fears of its inhabitants. Story updates every full moon.

“The Great Library,” Stated the stranger with a pause. “You know of it?”“Of course I do. In the Merchant’s Quarter?”“Yes, in the Merchant’s Quarter. I have gathered that there is an… artefact of importance within its walls.” Slowly, the figure produced a rusted key from the furls of his robes and held it in a black-gloved hand. “This opens the door to its chambers. It is the grimoire of Gunnar von Krugenheim, and I believe that it would serve better in the world than locked away in a dusty room.” Behind the cursed walls of Mordheim, warbands and gangs of all stripes are embattled in constant wars for resources and power. The cursed city attracts throngs in the thousands, searching for treasures, artefacts, power, and sometimes all three. The Cult of the Hidden Brethren is no exception, and when an opportunity to extend their reach is discovered, the cultists are eager to take the opportunity. However, not all is set in stone, and soon the cultists discover that the lure of power alone may not be enough to give them the drive required to see their quest done... --- Mordheim: Servants of the Damned is a fanfiction set in the world of Warhammer Fantasy, which is not owned by me but by the company Games Workshop. I of course, lay claim to nothing in this story but the characters I have created, and the core events of the story itself. This is my first true foray into fantasy writing, let alone Warhammer Fantasy, therefore any feedback is welcome. (It should be noted as well, the cover art is merely an artwork I found online and is not mine, therefore I do not lay claim to that either.)

In the time of crazy youth, the one bought a barony. It was inexpensive, and at the time there was a lot of wild money going through his hands. Also, the name of the barony created an amusing pun with the surname. Barony Grave Stone with Baron Grave. The one bought a nice paper and thought its a fun joke. But every action has consequences. And the past will always find a way to bite you in the ass.
