《Alyx: the shifters tail》Chapter : 14 The blue box! Or The cover art serves a purpose!

Looking around him at the pool filled room, now covered in quite a bit more gore and viscera than it had been when he first entered. Alyx contemplated if he wanted to evolve his class now or wait until he tiered up into tier six for his race. N,o matter what he did, he wanted to do it before he spoke to the elves again. Better safe than sorry, right?
“Please be good news. I’m not a huge fan of gods, and I don’t want to try fighting anything else right now.” Alyx was drained, both physically and mentally, at this point, he didn’t want to deal with gods or their emissaries. Alyx wanted to sit down, have a nice cup of hot cocoa and take a nap.
Not seeing anyone or anything appearing after a few seconds of waiting, Alyx made his way toward the back of the large chamber, away from the hallway that he entered as well as most of the blood and gore from his recent battle.
Once he made it to the far wall, Alyx sat his ass down to take a well-deserved rest. He was sure the emissary of Luna wouldn’t be too upset if he just closed his eyes for a second.
Once he had his eyes closed and the temple’s cool stone against his back, he could almost believe he was somewhere else. Anywhere else would probably better than a temple filled with corpses surrounded by the forest that hi a village of crazy racist elves.
“What the fuck am I even doing here? Did I really fight a crazy undead monster because I was bullied into it by an old lady? Could the elves have possibly been worse than that beast?”
Alyx let out a long sigh and determinedly kept his eyes closed, wanting to pretend for just a few moments that the next time he opened them, he would see the familiar sight of his bedroom back home. Shapeshifting powers aside, it had been a determinedly shitty two days. He’d been stabbed, shot with arrows, had his beak broken off, and nearly drowned in a pool of actual holy water. Alyx didn’t know what was worse, the pain he’d felt or the fact that somehow this was becoming his new reality.
“One step at a time, the next thing I should probably do is get rid of these curses. Otherwise, I’m probably going to end up just like that priest.”
“That is a fairly accurate statement.” A new voice replied, one that was decidedly feminine and powerful. The voice reminded Alyx of the changing tides and the waxing and waning of the moon’s cycles. How it did so he couldn’t begin to fathom, how would you even begin to quantify those things on a vocal register?
Eyes snapping open, Alyx beheld a heart-stopping sight and, for a brief, terrifying moment, forgot to breathe. What had once been a dimly lit temple chamber filled with glowing pools was now gone. No, now Alyx stared directly at the earth, the planet earth. Not a different planet with weird fantasy continents that Alyx didn’t recognize but home, with all the right counties and continents.

The reason Alyx momentarily stopped breathing was that he had found himself sitting on the moon, the view was straight out of a photo, and for a moment, Alyx thought he was going to die. The only other thing in the line of sight, beyond the dusty surface of the moon itself, was a large blue wolf with a crescent moon that let off a soft white glow from its forehead.
When he finally remembered to breathe, he did so without difficulty, and looked from earth to the wolf, then back again.
“I’m happy I was already sitting down. I think that would have knocked me right off of my feet.”
Tilting her head to the side like a dog that had heard a new word, the wolf spoke dispassionately.
“Indeed”
The silence stretched between them, the wolf waiting for something. Unfortunately, Alyx had a feeling she was waiting on him.
“So...uh, I’ve never met a Goddess before. I’m not sure what the protocol is here… Are...are we actually on the moon?”
Alyx didn’t know that wolves could look embarrassed, let alone embarrassed and amused at the same time. One paw reaching up as if to cover her face, it would have been adorable if the earth hadn’t been hanging in the void behind her.
“I am not Luna dear child, though I will take that for the compliment it is. We are in your mind. You have fallen asleep. The world you see is nothing more than a memory and added bits of imagination of your own making. And I am one of Luna’s Divine Emissaries. Surely you received the notification?”
Well, even if it wasn’t real, Alyx was still happy to see the earth and bask in the sight of it. For a while there, he thought he might never see it again.
Taking a moment, Alyx eventually pulled his thoughts back on track.
“Oh, right...so what can I do for you? I’m hoping I didn’t interrupt some divine plan by clearing the undead out of that temple.”
“Quite the opposite, you have single-handedly purged Luna’s temple of the cursed Undead. My Goddess would see you rewarded for such a feat.”
“Well, that is a relief. I was worried this was going to involve me getting an ass-kicking of some kind.” Alyx let out a weak chuckle and offered the wolf a smile. “ So I don’t suppose I could get these curses removed? I’m not a fan of the idea of turning into a whacked-out undead werewolf like the priest I just fought.”
“ There is no cure for either curse, none within my power to grant anyway. Only a high priest of Mor’noctum can cure one of undeath, and Luna has vowed to spread lycanthropy far and wide. She would never remove it, not for the grandest of gifts or the greatest of deeds.”
“No wonder those elves wouldn’t go anywhere near the ruin, seeing as the sort of makes me royally fucked.” Alyx said with exasperation as his voice broke, reaching for a higher Octave.
“What the hell am I supposed to do? Doesn’t that mean I’m going to become like the monster I just killed?”

“ Ordinarily, yes. However, Luna has chosen an appropriate boon for you in your time of need, one that will not only solve your current crisis but prove useful in the future as well.”
In a flash of silver light, a hovering dagger appeared in the space between Alyx and the emissary of luna. The short blade was made of bronze with a jade handle; it looked like a mix between Chinese and Aztec stylings.
“Though it takes the shape of a dagger, the item before you houses a spirit of knowledge. It will provide you access to knowledge of the system that is given only to a select few.”
Between one eyeblink and the next, Alyx found his hand had reached out on its own to grasp the dagger’s pommel. The view of the earth and the moon began to fade as the sight of the temple's main chamber came back to him. His eyes Opening slowly, the dagger still resting in his outstretched hand even though the rest of the dream had faded.
Hello! I am the Lord S.A.A.T System Administrative Assistant! I am going to access your abilities now. Please hold!
Alyx starred down at the dagger in his hand as it began to glow with a silver light, runes crawling over the surface of the blade.
Bum, dum, de dum, Bum dum de Dum, bum Dum de dum, BUM DUM DE DUM, bum dum De Dum.
Thank you for holding. I hope you enjoyed the music. I will now bring up your status!
'Dear lord, it's worse than alley cats in heat, was that supposed to be music?'
Alyx Frost Age: 30 Height : 5'5.75 Strength 50 Endurance 50 Coordination 50 Intelligence 25 Wisdom 20 Charisma 25 Allure 25
"Fuck, ok, that's cool. But uh, I don't really know what any of that quantifies. Can you give me a breakdown between having 25 strength and 50 S.A.A.T?"
It would be my pleasure! Please keep in mind I will be delving into your psyche to use references that you understand. Twenty-five strength would be considered the average strength of a healthy human of your size category.
However, fifty strength is the equivalent of someone in your size category that spends their day's training to weightlift at the Olympics. A gold medalist in weight lifting, if you would.
Does that adequately answer your question?
Well, it certainly explains a lot. How come I'm not built like an Olimpic weight lifter then? Would my other stat buffs all be Olimpic level?
Your body was only recently thrust into this world. Having had the stat increase for less than two days, you should not have seen any noticeable physical changes as of yet. However, the system has chosen to award you those buffs and is currently using ambient mana to make up the difference. Whereas when you shift your form into the Owlbear, you may have noticed increased mass beyond what was to be expected. This would be because that body was "Born" with those stat buffs. I hope you understand that I am using the term born loosely.
As to your other stats, Yes, you have the endurance of a gold medal triathlon athlete and the coordination of a gold medal gymnast.
It Occurs to me this is not a perfect analog. Please note that you have not been granted any of the skills that those with a gold medal would have, merely the same physical capabilities on a baseline level.
Do you have any further questions?
I have so many questions, S.A.A.T. We might be here all day if I have my way.
Let's start with the big ones, and I'll let you tell me what you think I need to know. I have become cursed with undeath and lycanthropy, the combination of which I am sure is going to drive me mad, and I have a sinking suspicion that they are called curses for a reason, even if they weren't going to tear apart my mind.
I have a tier six species evolution available to me and a class evolution waiting as well. So I guess my question, is how can I use what I have to not lose my mind, or hopefully become an undead.
That does sound like quite the pickle! Choosing a tier six race and evolving will go a long way toward solving some of your problems! Some of which will change your available class evolutions! I'm going to create some general categories for you and you tell me what looks good.
[ Corporal Fae ]
Belonging to one of three courts the fae are tied to the natural order of the world, their immortal nature would prevent you from succumbing to undeath through natural causes.
More specifically, however, the changeling race would synergize with your current abilities. This race in addition to joining the wild court of the hunt would offer the most options for class evolutions. Some of which could be used to adapt your curses into something more useful.
[Angelic half bloods]
True Angels do not exist below tier eight, however, those who wish to become them can attune their souls with holy light and begin the journey of becoming one. The holy light in combination with certain class evolutions could rend your curses.
{Demonic half bloods}
Angels and Demons are two sides of the same coin, one need simply replace virtue with sin.
[Loupe Garou]
You could also go down the path of the greatest of werewolves, embracing lycanthropy would unlock several potent shifter abilities that might allow you to devour the undead curse.
@##@[email protected]#%[email protected][email protected]%@^%#$*
[Nothing]
You can also choose to forsake the multiverse and the gods within it, call out to the void and break free from your curses entirely. These rules only bind you, why tolerate them? Devour the gods and assert your will over all things.
!#[email protected]#!$#$#@[email protected]^%$
I'm sorry, I seem to have encountered a slight hiccup. Was there anything else you wanted to know?
That-uh, that should be enough on races, for now, Let's move on to Class Evolutions. What can you tell me about the wild hunt and changeling options?
Of course! Please allow me to load your options!
