《Ant in Magic World.》33. Fighting the War
Advertisement
My air bullet streaked through the air like a cannon ball and reached him in two seconds.
He looked dumbfounded at first, but then smiled and let it hit him.
My air bullet reached his face, and he did something stupefying. He opened his mouth, and ate it.
And as if it had done nothing to him, he smiled back looking at me and spoke, “A baby who can use magic? You are interesting kid. You are interesting.”
*Burp*
“Oh, that was tasty. Got any more of those fruits on you?”
I wanted to get to him, crush his head, tear his thorax, rip off his antennae’s, peal of his exoskeleton and eat him while he was still alive.
So to achieve that, I activated haste, concentration and rushed upon him. A strong pressure came and fell up me when I reached ten centimeters away from him, but I let willpower activate and it helped me walk through.
{Haste has risen to lv 10}
[Haste’s special skill: Speed demon Gained]
Speed demon: The more you run the faster you get. You speed increases by one fold every five minute.
“Oh.” A look of surprise appeared on his face.
I covered the distance between us, jumped and sent a haste powered kick on his face.
*Tin*
The sound of wood sticking metal came from the impact. My leg bounced back without even scratching his face. I clenched my jaw to bear through the pain, and he scratched his cheek where I had hit him.
{Pain resistance has rise to lv 14}
“A Leech bite? Maybe I should…”
Our eyes met, my heart stopped, and he rushed upon my head. He punched, and as if his fist a turned into that of a giants, I saw a mountain big fist coming toward me. I tried to move but the wind pressure from his incoming punch, bound me to the ground.
{Wind resistance has rise to lv 18}, {Blunt force resistance has risen to lv 13}
“BITE BACK!” He screamed into my ears, and my heart leaped into my mouth just from his shout.
My heart stopped, and I understood that the chasm of stats between us wasn’t something that I was able to cover with just some skills.
‘Someone save me.’
And I felt a presence behind me.
A hand reached my neck, and got a proper hold.
I body acted, but my struggle proved to be useless and I got pulled back.
{Muscle memory has risen to lv 7}, {Pull resistance has risen to lv 8…9…10}
I didn’t die, and saw the person who had pulled me back flying? No running to the front.
“Leave.” I heard him say.
*Bang*
The enemy captain’s hand struck the floor and left an indention there, while the pull sent me flying backwards.
I rolled on the ground, and my face tasted dirt, but I was alive.
{Reflex has risen to lv 8}
I looked up to see who it was, and my savior turned out to be our captain.
“Help others.” He said while keeping his eyes on the enemy captain.
At first I didn’t listen to him, but the pressure that suddenly erupted on me was enough to crack my stupid pride, and dissolve a little bit of my anger.
{Perception has risen to lv 16}
“Oh! Look everyone; a wounded tiger came to fight for his pride. I thought you won’t come out until I had killed at least a hundred babies from your colony. Looks like I was wrong. Now that you are here, should we continue where we had left last time? What do yo…”

But captain didn’t listen anymore of his blabber, and disappeared.
He literally disappeared. I hurriedly activated all my skills that could help me see what was happening, and my eyes caught him moving so fast that he appeared to have teleported.
At the same time, he appeared once again from underneath the black ant, and sent an uppercut flying straight toward his face.
{Concentration has risen to lv 11}, {Martial arts mastery has risen to lv 6}
I looked dumbfounded at the speed that he had acted with, but what surprised me even more was that the black enemy ant was able to not only stop captains attack, but had enough room to talk back.
“What’s with that angry face? Did I accidently kill someone you know?”
At time I heard the captain clenching his fist as hard he could and…
*Boom*
He punched that fool on his gut, but the enemy captain blocked that attack too.
Captain slid his left legs to the back and using the legs on his right side as a pivot, cut through the air like a knife and sent his three legs aiming at three different places on his opponent’s body.
“Humph! Child play.” The enemy captain acted to block all three of them, but our captain did play his game his way, and all three of those kicks changed their direction in the middle of their motion and…
*Bam*
The three of them struck the black enemy captain on his head at the same time.
*Boom*
The black enemy captain fell onto the ground face first, and a huge torrent of dirt got lifted with our captain at the centre.
Their movements made me shiver with excitement, and also fear.
‘Would I have been able to kill, not even survive if I had fought with him?’
The thought was like cancer. It grew more with time, and made me gulp like a coward.
{Overwhelm resistance has risen to lv 18}
“You motherfucking piece of dead shit!”
The black enemy ant captain cursed and looked up. He hurriedly stood up while sending four huge fists flying toward my captain, but captain planted a fist on his face just as he reached him, which made the black enemy ant step back.
“The fuck?’ My rational mind came back from grass grazing, and allowed me to understand what that meant.
My Captain wasn’t able to send him flying or obliterate him with his punch and only make him step back.
“Hah… That was good, but not good enough.”
He looked to the captain, at me, at all of our brothers and sisters standing in the cavern and yelled.
“ATTACK!”
“HOOooo!”
“Kill them all!”
“Attack!”
And the ones who should have been defending their mound started their offence.
There were twenty tunnels leading to the cavern. All of which were filled to the brim with the enemies.
“You fool! Did you really think we wouldn’t know about your spy?”
The enemy brute punched our captain, who in return dropped his defense, and punched back.
*Bam*bam*
They both struck each other at the same time and somehow his opponent did more damage than our captain.
Captain’s exoskeleton got punched inward and a depression appeared on his face, before it healed back to its original shape.
“You and your damn regeneration!” The Enemy black ant’s captain grunted.
But smiled after that and punching is fist in the sir spoke, “Let’s see who wins; your regeneration or my fists!”
And with that, what our enemies called the leisure period ended, and the good old brawl started.

*****
Enemies came pouring out of the tunnels like a flood wanting to drown us, but the cracked floor helped us in keeping the number we had to fight in check.
I looked around and saw that although more than one third of our forces that had entered the cavern had been killed in the initial phase of their plan, but we still had at least two thousand ants alive.
But everyone spirit looked… withered.
Unfortunately we had also lost a captain to the falling ground and we only had five of them wh were also busy commanding or keeping the enemy captains in check.
*Boom*
At the same time captain pushed the enemy black brute captain onto the floor which made the floor tremble.
“Everyone…!” He roared and got everyone attention to him.
“Don’t flatter! Fight back! You can’t die now! If we died now then our colony won’t survive a day either! So fight! Fight for your brothers! Fight For your sisters! Fight for the queen! FIGHT TO SURVIVE!”
He said and sent another punch directly onto his opponents face.
We all saw the enemy captain taking deep breaths while lying on the ground, before he stood up.
*FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!*
“SURVIE~!”
“KILL~!”
“KILL~!”
“KILL~!”
His single punch had more affect that his speech, but who cares about the pleasantries.
At the same time fireballs once again rained down from above. Looking up I saw the fire breathers getting ready to call upon the mystic powers of mana once again and decided that killing them would have a greater effect on the overall flow of the battlefield, than if I killed ten or twenty ground forces.
A strict plan quickly appeared in my head and I sent my captain a whisper, and told him what I wanted to do.
{Whisper has risen to lv 3}, {Planner has risen to lv 8}
He shivered at first, but nodded his head upon understanding my plan.
He positioned and arched his back to provide me a ramp to jump.
I activated haste and ran forward with my full speed. Placing my foot on his back, I jumped as high as I could, and flew over his head and toward the cavern wall.
The enemy captain probably understood what I wanted to do and he panicked.
"Stop him...!" He yelled, but ended up giving room to our captain to cut one of his antennae’s.
"Fuck...!" He yelled and tried to catch me, but my captain didn’t let him.
"Go...!" He said and I nodded.
I activated glide and flew over the panicking, confused and jumping heads of all the enemy black ants that had come running out of the tunnels.
{Glide has risen to lv 2}
Soon my feet touched the wall and with haste working in full drivel, I zoomed on the empty wall like a rocket, and in under a minute entered the groove to start my sweet massacre.
.
.
Unfortunately there was no one at the point I had entered from, which took away my opportunity to pull one down.
But fortunately I was able you enter stealth because of that.
{Stealth has risen to lv 3}
I checked my mana and saw that I only had a single point of mana left, and decided to use it wisely.
I sneaked past all the obstacles, and soon reached the place where there was a pair of red and yellow ants looking down on the battlefield.
{Stealth has risen to lv 4}
But their expressions irked me.
I had calmed down a little in all this time, but my blood started boiling when I saw them smiling and laughing. They behaved as if they weren’t looking at the battlefield, but watching a play.
My eyes blood red, I ran as fast as I could, and bit one of them in the back.
My mandibles glowed yellow, and they tore through the yellow ant’s exoskeleton like it was paper.
<>Critical hit<>
{Mandible Cut has risen to lv 9}
*Ting*
[Skill: Surprise attack gained.]
Surprise attack: Every surprise attack deals +50% Damage and has 100% chance to deal critical damage.
+10% damage increases with skill level.
Though my stealth wore off because I had attacked, but disabling one of them was enough.
"Ahhhh!"
The ant screamed and got the other ones attention, but I kicked him on the face just as he turned.
"Wha...!"
Maybe I had kicked him took hard or whatever, but although I failed to directly kill him, he fell from the narrow groove.
"Nooo.....!"
And into the cracked ground below.
His body vanished into the abyss and the ants stared above to see what was happening.
The experience from killing him sated my thirst a little, but didn’t quench it even a little bit.
Looking down at the yellow ant which was trying to crawl away from me, I moved to stab at his head, but then stopped.
I picked him up as he stared at me in dread.
{Lift has risen to lv 4}
"Don’t worry, I won’t kill you." I said and he took a breath of relief.
"I have a better idea."
{Planner has risen to lv 9}
I knew that killing these fire breathers would help my comrades a lot, but even that wouldn’t be enough. I needed to do something practical. Something that would leave a strong impression on the enemies and make sure that they would understand; we hadn’t surrendered yet.
I thanked the red ant for giving me the idea, and smiled to the yellow ant.
His eyes sparkled with trust, as I picked him up and he spoke, “Thank you, thank you. I never wanted to take part in this war anyway. Thank you… Ah this pain…!"
I liked that he thaked me, but his face turned pale when I lifted him above my head.
{Lift has risen to lv 5}
"You don't! You said that you won’t kill me!"
“Scream for me."
And I threw him down.
*Ting*
[Skill: Throw gained.]
"AHHHhhhh..........!
I saw him falling down, screaming and felt satisfaction. His screams did more than I had thought it would. Not only did he got everyone’s attention, but made them shiver too.
Clarity allowed me to clearly see the face of our enemies turning stiff, when they saw another one of their comrades falling down from above and into the abyss below.
[Every skill leveling up by one.]
I looked at the ants, looking from the other side of the groove and waved at them.
Maybe my smile scared them or maybe my words did, but I had perfectly gotten everyone’s attention on me.
"I’m coming."

Ortus (Old Version)
This is an old version of the heavily edited and rewritten Ortus This is the story of a woman named Riza. Riza is a woman who wakes up in a forest with nothing, remembering nothing, and on the cusp of death. The only thing she has is a weapon stuck in her side and, after a tangle with a wild boar, something called 'life aspect'. Little does she know that life magic is considered a dead-end branch and is largely outlawed across the world. None of this matters to her, of course. For one, even if someone tried to tell her, she doesn't know the language. Number two, have you heard about the sunk cost fallacy? Riza is not some chosen one, nor is given any boon she doesn't deserve. Instead, she's smart and methodical, and experiements on how to maximise every opportunity, every ability, presented to her. She doesn't just take things at face-value but instead explores just what limitations there are. This often involves maths.

LITTLE GREEN MEN • Book 1
As nineteen-year-old Alex Dash cares for his six-year-old twin siblings, Henry and Annabelle, he is forced to navigate a post-cataclysmic world full of hostile entities. Dogs that seem more aware than they ought to, sentient plant-life, nomads aimlessly wandering...Rescued by a farming colony called Community, Alex meets Eva Monroe. She is mysterious, but also familiar somehow. When Alex sees strange lights in the fields, he begins asking questions that no one seems willing to answer. Together, Alex and Eva discover a secret. A secret that no one in Community saw coming...or did they? I will also post some of this story on Royal Road.Excerpt: To the right of the road the land rose sharply to a hill. Alex's gut tightened and fluttered as he realized their current location was not a wise one; low ground was a disadvantage in a conflict. Alex had a bad feeling, a hunch that he wasn't the only one searching. His attention was drawn to the top of the hill. Something was up there. They were being watched.
