《The Navigator》I give up

So, yeah. This was supposed to be a NaNoWriMo challenge, but I've fallen quite a few days behind now thanks to work, a nasty cold, and other factors beyond my control (such as my laziness). I'm not gonna stress myself over trying to catch up so I'm just going to throw in the towel. Apologies to those that genuinely found the story interesting, but I'm not going to be updating this anymore. I guess trying to write something readable in the first place was the problem since I couldn't just pump out nonsensical bullshit that made no sense to me.

Now, here's the thing. I have not completely given up on this story's concept and may either resume or restart it. That said, for those of you who were curious where this plotline was going:

Plot Spoiler

Seventeen and Two-Five were going to keep doing odd jobs and whatnot until they accidentally stumbled onto something leading to Ten's case with the mysterious smuggling ring. Eventually they'd uncover a conspiracy by Earth's elite to eliminate the breach problem for good.

How was the Not-Illuminati going to do this? The more science savvy among you might have realized how potentially world-ending it is to have our universe invaded by matter from another universe that adheres to a different speed of light and therefore a completely alien way mass works. As one commenter said, it's a miracle the whole thing doesn't just go poof.

Well, finding a way to do just that was the big bad's goals. After all, there can't be breaches to neighboring universes if there are no neighboring universes. I thought this sort of thing would give the series a compelling antagonist, since they're not being evil just for the sake of being evil. On one hand, wiping out dozens of universes is unfathomable levels of destruction and mass-murder. On the other, nobody on Earth would be sad if the breaches ceased to be, since it would mean safety, security, and more resources that could be diverted towards funding humanity's age-old dream of colonizing the stars.

Now, whether Two-Five and Seventeen would be able to stop this apocalypse spree... that part of the story I hadn't yet decided on.
