《Transient - COMPLETED!》Writer Talks - Acknowledgements, Thank Yous, And What Comes Next.

So this is it, ladies, gents, and other, the first draft of the first part of Transient is finally finished – and boy, writing it has been one hell of a trip.
For starters, it’s been the first novel-scale piece of writing I ever brought to (some kind of) fruition. That’s incredibly important, because it’s proof that not only can I do it, but it was also much, much easier than I thought it would be.
As it is, the first draft sits at around 90,000 words. That’s more or less the average size of a debut fantasy novel, and it’s what I’d been aiming for from the start. What I hadn’t been aiming for was the fact that these 90,000 words were only enough to cover barely a third of the story I wanted Transient to say. That’s good news, I guess; it means I got enough stuff planned for a full trilogy, and those are all the rage, or so I hear.
So where do we go from here?
I’m glad you asked.
As I said, this version of Transient I’ve had the honor to present you is only a first draft. I’ll let it percolate for a couple of months (at least!), work on a few other things (probably part 2 in the trilogy), then get it out of the proverbial drawer and start the long and painful iterative process that is self-editing.
After that, we’ll see. Maybe a professional editor, if I can afford them. Fingers crossed.
My long-term goal is to publish it on Kindle & Audible and make some scratch to pay the bills with, because I’m fucking poor, the local economy is a shitshow, and I find my 9-to-5 job in digital marketing soul-crushing.
…Whoops, did I say that out loud?

Anyway.
I want to thank you all for making it this far.
If it weren’t for a handful of dedicated readers and the (admittedly, few) people on RR that showed interest in and appreciation for this story, I’m not sure if I would have finished it.
Procrastination’s power levels are well over 9000 around here, and you guys where the ones that helped me fuel the super spirit bomb necessary to push through and blast it to kingdom come!
So, again; thanks. You are the real heroes of the story.
With that, I bid you adieu – for now.
Keep those eyes peeled.
There’s more to come.
