The notifications were the first thing Michael saw when he crossed over the portal's threshold, which annoyed him as he swiped the screens away to get his first look at the actual dungeon.
Michael, along with the rest of the team who had entered with him, stood in what looked like a large dirt cave, similar to a really large burrow. Michael was unimpressed with the accuracy, he'd seen real wolf dens, and they were nothing like this. The Wolves Den entrance was simple, a large dirt cave with a single tunnel leading out situated at the other end.
"Okay Michael" Olivia said "The layout of the dungeon is quite simple. There's the entrance chamber, where we are right now, the tunnel to the main chamber with five branching tunnels leading off it, five side chambers at the end of the branching tunnels and the main chamber. Each of the side chambers hold 4-6 wolves and the main chamber holds 8-10 wolves as well as the Alpha Wolf. We're going to be going through each side chamber, clearing out the wolves, before hitting the main chamber. During the fight the Alpha Wolf will call for the rest of the wolves so it's best we clear them out beforehand. The wolves are all Razorclaw Wolves like the ones outside, levels between 15 and 20."
"Since they're all Razorclaw Wolves, you and I will be the main attacking force. Rather than entering the chambers we'll set up outside and blast the wolves as they come at us. This will save us on repairs if they aren't shredding our gear. The tunnels are quite long and, fortunately, straight. We'll set up thirty metres back, the max range of your lv 3 Magic Missile. As soon as the wolf enters the the tunnel, you blast it as much as possible. When it gets to the ten metre mark, I'll hit it with a fireball, should finish it off. Damien, your in charge of pulling the wolves, as usual. start with 1 and we'll see how it goes. Sam, you cover our six and be ready to step in if needed, shouldn't be but you never know. Anne, you keep watch and assist as necessary. Okay, unless there's anything else, we'll get started."
"Actually yeah" Michael spoke up, making Olivia tense up. This man had been a nightmare. Between the near constant surprises and the sheer danger that he created just by existing, she didn't know what to do with him. Worst of all, none of it was his fault. If the man had been directly responsible, or even if he just hadn't been so nice, she could have been angry with him and felt better. As it was, she just kept waiting for him to finally admit he was a god or something so she could be absolutely sure that there would be nothing else to surprise her.
Oblivious to Olivia's stress Michael said "I have a perk that lets me access the Dungeon info, I figured it might be useful."

Sighing in relief, Olivia said "Sure, go ahead."

"Did you guys know about the hidden room?" Michael asked, curious.
The rest of the team looked at him, before Sam grinned and the rest of the team groaned. "Ha, I knew it!"
Michael looked confused, so Olivia saved him from his bemusement "We've completed this dungeon a couple dozen times and never gotten a higher completion percentage then 95% so after the fifth time of getting 95 we made bets as to why. I said we needed to complete it within a certain time limit, Anne said we should defeat the Alpha first, Damien thought there was some sort of hidden puzzle we had to complete and Sam said there was a hidden room. You sure there's a hidden room?"
"Yeah" Michael replied. "That's what it says on my dungeon info screen."
They walked on for a bit before the end of the tunnel could be seen. "Okay, let's stop here. Michael, get ready. Damien, get the first wolf"
Damien saluted Olivia with a smirk on his face and started stalking towards the end of the tunnel, slowly disappearing as he went.
Michael started up a Magic Missile but held the skill on the verge of release, the ball of Mana floating above his hand. While holding the missile in his hand he attempted to create another Magic Missile and, with a bit of careful focus and splitting of his attention, he managed to pull up another Magic Missile in his other hand. It as just in time as Damien appeared, sprinting towards them with a Razorclaw wolf on his tail. He must have invested quite a bit on his Agility, he had already made it past them by the time the wolf got in range.
Michael aimed the twin Magic Missiles at the wolf and sent them flying. The two missiles had both locked on to the wolf's head but the wolf still managed to dodge one but was struck by the other right in the face and, with assistance from the second missile hitting the wolf in its shoulder, stopped the Razorclaw Wolf cold. Quickly picking up his bow, an arrow already nocked, Michael drew and released in one smooth motion the arrow flying through the air to strike the wolf in the throat. Michaels luck was apparently good as the bows first effect activated and the wolf froze in place, twitching as small arcs of electricity played across its fur. Taking the time to properly aim Michael fired another arrow, this time aiming for the head. The arrow struck true and ended the fight.

Magic Missile Skill Level up!

Level 9 -> Level 10
Michael was both happy and sad. He was happy that he had gotten the Dupli-Cast skill, and really happy about the skill level up, but sad that the experience modifiers were additive rather than multiplicative. Of course, he had still levelled from the fight so he wasn't going to complain. He quickly put his two AP into Magic, the pain barely phasing him anymore.
Whilst he was waiting for Damien to bring the next one he started to wonder what else he had missed. All along he had thought he was using his skills, his abilities, as well as he could, but now he realised that just wasn't true. Looking back, he realised he had just been reacting to each situation as it came along. If his skills were good enough then he didn't need to change or experiment, he could just continue doing what he was doing. He had been so focused on finishing the Tutorial, getting back to his sister, that he hadn't really enjoyed the journey. The skills had just been tools, Mana had just been a resource. He hadn't really immersed himself in it, let his curiosity roam free like normal. He had been surviving, but not living. If Olivia hadn't told him how to get the Dupli-Cast skill he likely wouldn't have discovered that either.
So Michael stopped. He stopped worrying about the future, or the present. He stopped wondering if his sister was dead, or if she was hurt in some way. He stopped focusing on what he needed to do, rather than what he wanted to do, and started to finally enjoy himself.
Which is naturally when Damien came back with another wolf, and interrupted Michael's thoughts.
Rather than using Magic Missile, Michael decided to solely use his Archery to kill this one. Okay, Archery and his bows ridiculous effects. Aiming for the wolves head, Michael activated Thunder Shot, the skill attached to his bow. The arrow glowed a bright light blue for an instant before Michael let go of the bow string. The arrow shot towards, and through, the wolf, releasing a crack of thunder. Michael was prepared for the noise this time but it was still a shock.
The arrow Killed the wolf in one hit having entered its head, travelled through its body piercing its heart on the way, and exited through the poor, and thoroughly dead, wolf's backside.

Michael was happy for about a second, and then he heard howls. He was confused for a second before Damien spoke. "Door it you fluking idiot, you attracted the rest of them"
Olivia was quick on the take, having been in similar situations before. She turned to Damien. "It's fine, we'll handle it. How many were left in the chamber?"
"Two, levels 7 and 8. I kept the higher levels for last."
"Okay, simple enough. Michael, I'm assuming you got a level from that?" Michael nodded. "Good, apply your AP and get prepared. Same rules as before, if they get too close I'm taking over." Olivia asked
"No problem" Michael replied, quickly dumping two points into his Dexterity Attribute. The pain was different from the Magic increases, more physical, but was just as easily shrugged off and it took only a second before he was back in action. Which was good, as the wolves had reached the tunnel.
Seeing the wolves closing in, Michael unleashed his opening attack, firing an arrow at one wolf whilst firing a Magic Missile at the other with the hand holding his bow. The wolves attempted to dodge but with the small tunnel they just ended up smacking into each other and still getting hit. The stunning effect of Michaels bow activated, shocking not only the one wolf but surprisingly also the other, likely due to them touching each other when they were hit.
Not wasting any time Michael continued firing the combo attack, though the concentration needed to both fire his arrows and Magic Missiles at the same time drained his mental energy. After a few rounds the wolves fell, the constant arrows keeping them stunned and unable to move right until the end.
As the wolves hit the floor Michael was hit with two notifications, the second carrying a nice surprise.

Vampire Life: Sara
This is a short story based on the character from my main book that is still in progress. The question that caused me to write this and other one to come was simple.... if you can't die, live forever, and interact with the human world, what do you do when something happens that you can't anticipate. In this book, Charles gets hit by a car.

Take Two!
College student majoring in botany has a fateful encounter with truck-kun while trying to get back in shape after realizing that his freshman 15 turned into the sophomore 20, and then the junior 30. After going through a very amusing(to some) hell, he gets the chance to transmigrate into a body of his own design on a magical world. Playing to his strengths, he chose the Plantkin race, and the new name of Sorrel to match. This is a slow-paced, magical, slice-of-life story with a focus on relationships. There will be sex(I'll try to keep the explicit stuff to a minimum, but it will be there), swearing, really bad jokes, and enough food to spoil your diet. There will not be a lot of action, epic quests to save the world, or anything even remotely resembling a big-bad-evil-guy(a few smaller bad guys, sure. But, no BBEG). Note: This is a re-write of my first story "Congratulations, You're Dead!". And, is much more what I wish I had written in the first place. The characters and the world are very similar, with a few key differences. The story may borrow some elements from Congrats, but should be considered as its own work. Reading Congrats first is not needed, or even reccommended, not unless you want to see some really cringey romance in the early chapters.
