Chapter 18-Binding
Once they got to the church everyone deposited the bags inside and went back outside to test Eric’s spell.
Eric’s party members were standing on the sidewalk while Eric is in the middle of the street. It seems that they all realize that testing new spells can be dangerous without knowledge about what it does. Eric has an advantage in this department, but the others don’t know that.
Eric closes his eyes and makes sure to carefully fill the spell formula that will bind a familiar to himself with mana. This is the longest spell any of them has seen. All spells they have seen so far take at most 3 seconds to cast, with Alastor being able to cast blinking less than half a second, not even needing a verbal component.
It takes about 2 minutes to build the spell in his mind, once it is done he starts the incantation.
I demand one of you to heed my call and serve me and only me for the rest of time.
“Beings of the Abyss.
I demand one of you to heed my call
and serve me, and only me
for the rest of time.
Attend me, Servant!”
While Eric is casting the spell, Claire, Anna, Bruce, and Alastor can barely breathe due to the power in the air. Even the non-magic members of the group can feel the power radiating outwards from Eric. They haven’t seen a spell use so much power, even Claire’s level 5 spell, which had the highest mana requirement until now, only needs 100 mana to cast.
Eric is unaware that the moment he started casting a red magic circle 5 meters in diameter appears before him with a large pentagram at the center of it and various symbols around the edges. From the pentagram a blast of heat emerges, causing Eric’s robe to flutter as if he is in the middle of a storm. The air itself is heavy with raw untamed power that is not coming from Eric’s spell, but rather some sort of natural reaction of the environment to the spell.
Eric didn’t register any of this because as he finished his incantation his mind was pulled out of his body and pushed through a tunnel until suddenly he is hovering above a giant red expanse.
‘Where am I? Are those cities?’ Not expecting this Eric panics a little.
On the ground, there are multiple cities, but they are all so small from where Eric was that it looked as if he was looking at a map. He thought he would summon a familiar, not that he would be summoned to the familiar. Eric opened his mouth to scream when he doesn’t feel his body.
GONG!!!
Lynnarah Zellaith
Moments before…
Lynnarah is sitting behind the front desk of the library, wishing the brute in front of her would simply leave and let her read.
“Come on, your looks are being wasted here, come with me, then you can start leveling. Why would you even be here, it is not like you need any knowledge that is in those books, all the knowledge that you need your body already know, everything else I can show you.”

Lynnarah could only sigh in frustration. Drez’gar has been coming daily for the past 2 months to convince her to join him. Drez’gar has four arms, ebony skin, and is 2.50 meters tall, with enough muscles to snap anyone in half. Luckily the library has a non-violence magic circle preventing anyone from attacking anyone or anything.
“I have been telling you for the past few weeks, I have no intention of becoming your pet, Drez’gar, it doesn’t matter if I can start leveling, you are simply going to tie me up as a sex slave, and no, I don’t care how big you think your dick is or how well you can use it. I am either going to be Called or die in this building.” Fortunately, Lynnarah lives inside the library, so no one can break into the building to kidnap her and force her into binding herself to someone such as Drez’gar.
For the past 3 years, she has been at the library, ever since reaching level 5 and reaching the natural barrier of demonic leveling. The library was the only safe place for her, so she immediately ran there to be protected by the magic circle.
Once other demons found out that there was a free succubus in the building one brute or another has been trying to get her, luckily most gave after a few weeks, except Drez’gar. Succubae are rare in the abyss after their culling, and those that still exist are always forced into submission as soon as possible. She was lucky to have made it to the library before some demon got her.
“The chance of being Called is ridiculously small, just give up on that, believe me. You are going to rot away in this place, you shouldn’t let your body go to waste.” Drez’gar tries to make good arguments, but she has heard them all, and Drez’gar is only after her body, he has no plans to let her ever level. He holds himself in a calm and inviting manner, his upper arms are open, palms facing her and what he thinks is a charming smile. What he doesn’t realize is that his lower arms are moving around in an agitated manner and those hands are opening and closing, wishing to grab her.
'Those arms are alsways so honest.' The succubus thinks.
Lynnarah can also see through his smile and see the greed in his eyes.
“At least my brain hasn’t rotted like yours, at this point I would be surprised if there was more than dust left in there. Now I am going to have to ask you to leave. This is a library after all, and you are disturbing the others.”
As a matter of fact, no one ever goes to the library to read any of the books, so there is no one else around. Not that Lynnarah minded, it gave her more peace and quiet for her to read, at least when no one like Drez’gar shows up.
Drez’gar is too frustrated to continue trying to be nice to her, and snaps, “Shut it slut, I don’t care if the magic circle protects you, for now. I will get you and then I will make you submit to me. I have many demons you are more than eager to help me if need be. I’ll have you beg for forgiveness when I am done with you.”

At this moment a magical shock travels through the building from the basement.
“As a matter of fact, the magic circle just might malfunction right now,” he said smugly with an eager grin.
With a start, Lynnarah realizes what he means. ’He messed with the magic circle, but how, it is heavily protected, he can’t have someone in his employ that has the power to manipulate a circle.
Before Lynnarah can react Drez’gar wraps his big meaty fist around her hair and pulls her across the desk.
“Now you are coming with me bitch.”
Lynnarah tries to struggle, she tries to punch, kick, scratch, and use her spells against him, but to no avail. Drez’gar is a Barbarian with a ton of strength and at least level 30. Lynnarah, on the other hand, is still at level 5, and a spellcaster. She struggles for all she is worth while the four armed demon shrugs everything off, including all her spells and continues to drag her outside.
Once they are out on the chaotic street, the succubus has tears of desperation flowing down her cheeks.
‘Three years, and all for nothing. Why? This isn’t fair, why do I have t…’
Lynnarah’s thoughts are interrupted as she hears a fateful sound.
GONG!!!
New Quest
Warlock’s Familiar
Description: Be the first to answer the call to become the familiar of a warlock.
Completion:0/1
Reward: Become a warlock’s familiar.
It is a sound that all demons yearn for when they are level 5, but most will never hear. She has never heard it before, but she recognizes on an instinctual level and even got the quest which can help her escape.
“A Call!” That the gong sounds for her right at her most dire moment can be nothing but fate. Knowing that when a Call goes out multiple demons hear it, but only the first to answer it can get summoned, and escape. This is her last opportunity, given to her by fate itself.
Her entire mind focuses on the sound and she sends her consciousness racing towards the source of the call above the city, hoping against all odds that she will be the first one to arrive so she can get away from Drez’gar, from her life, and maybe fulfill her goals.
She completely ignores Drez’gar dragging her through the street without a care in the world.
Above the city is a small white hole from where the call came from. After what felt like an eternity in a race against the clock her consciousness reaches the spot where the call came from. She doesn’t even register that her mind is kilometers above the city when she reaches the transparent white hole in the sky.
Having read about it in a book she knew that this was a hole in her world, which would lead her to the one that the warlock was in. Looking around her she sees other demon consciousnesses also rushing towards the hole, luckily, she is ahead of them and reaches it before anyone else.
Congratulations!
Quest-Warlock’s Familiar Completed
You will now become the familiar of a warlock.
As soon she touches it feels like as if the hole is sucking her being into it, even her body shatters like glass in Drez’gar’s grip, shocking him, and the shattered pieces get dragged into the sky, towards the hole.
Drez’gar is confused as to what just happen with his sex slave, but as soon as the glass shards that once made up Lynnarah’s body rush to a spot in the sky he realizes what most likely just happened. Lynnarah got called and managed to be the first one to reach the connection.
Lynnarah could nearly hear Drez’gar’s shouting, and she couldn’t be more ecstatic. Not only did she get called, she managed to reach it before anyone else and in the process was saved from that brute. She eagerly let herself be absorbed by the hole in the world, excited about her new future.
Eric
Before Eric can freak out about not having a voice his mind gets dragged back into his body. He can feel that he is dragging something with him, presumably his familiar.
The red smoke changes in color to a purple and shapes itself into a distinctively female figure.
Once his familiar’s body finished forming, before he has a chance to look at what he summoned he suddenly felt his magic and a part of his soul rush out of him, connecting with the other being and forming a complicated magical knot that Eric can’t hope to understand. The knot ties the two beings together, connects them on a magical level that Eric doesn’t understand, nor all of its implications. Both beings feel a sense of completeness when they feel each other’s soul through the bond for the first time. A place in their soul gets filled with each other, a place that they didn’t know was empty.
At this point the magic starts to subside, the temperature of the area lowers as the magical circle disappears. Before either the master or familiar have time to do much more, both fall unconscious after the intensity of the ritual they underwent. Eric falling on the ground and the familiar fading out of existence.
“Eric!” his party members scream, worried about him falling unconscious after the intensity of the magic he just used.

Tellus Stirs (Previously Earth AA)
The year is 2030. Earth is dying. War, pandemics, overwhelming pollution, species going extinct, climate change, etc. The so-called human race has brought more harm to their planet due to greed; their increased energy needs were on a path of decadence even with their increased technological advancements. Tactical Nukes were already used in conflicted zones in the fight for resources. The conclusion was a deep and frightening hum unleashed deep within the earth, heard by every living creature, and with it, civilization has ended. Those who survived wished they were slain along with their loved ones as the dead didn't have to endure what came after. Others took the opportunity to gain unimaginable power and prestige as a new age began. Chaos reigned as per the prophecies foretold in the past. Those who did not believe knew the signs were actual; these prophecies were no longer popular folk tales. Such titles, the Breaking, the Rapture, the Malhama, and many others, came at a high cost. After all, every city or densely populated area had been hit with natural disasters that encompassed tsunamis, Earthquakes, Firestorms, Typhoons, and hurricanes. Power, food, infrastructure. All of it was gone and what came after was worse as humans were no longer top of the food chain. Yet the imminent destruction of the 21st century re-opened a veil that had kept the world safe from hidden dangers, or maybe it was the other way around. Time will tell. In our story, the Protagonist rises from the ashes of the apocalypse. A desert child soldier nurtured by tragedy and death looking for an escape to fill the void in his heart. By chance, in his hand, he held a blade with immense possibilities. Notes: (30.06.2021) - I have re-edited and revised the following chapters up to Chapter 24. - Changed the Title from Earth AA to Tellus Stirs.
