Since this report is used for training purposes, our physics and aeronautics department felt the need to remind you of some basics.

A light year is a unit if distance. It is equivalent to the distance light travels within a year, or in other words 9.46*10^12 km or 5.88*10^12 mi (the department of physics would like to reiterate the importance of using standardised units. This report has been formatted to comply to this convention, and a conversion table will be included for your ease of understanding).

A light month is a unit of distance. It is equivalent to the distance light travels within a month, or in other words 7.77*10^11 km.

A year is a unit of time. It was originally based on Earth’s orbital parameters and has been standardised since. It corresponds to 12 months, 52 weeks, 365.25 days and 8766 hours (for more info, feel free to contact Dr. Irvine in the department of physics; he loves rambling on about how standardised units based on Earth’s orbital and gravitational parameters are obsolete in the age of space colonies).

A knot is a unit of velocity (although due to the nature of open space it is often independent from displacement). It can be calculated using the following formula :
