《The Floating Dungeon》Chapter 23

As the iceberg was adrift in the currents, Amy collected more species and objects to add to her territory. Naturally, the eight cylinders of ice roots that were miniature habitats for a lot of prey species attracted a lot of new predator species. But she also created a netting system that mimicked trawler nets back on Earth. It really was not her intention to destroy the environment around her as the nets did back on Earth. Still, it really was an optimal way of collecting new species and objects.
Amy weaved the nets out of icey kelp and created them so that they were a lot smaller than the ones on Earth. The nets had a two-meter wide entrance, with a three-meter wide length before it ended. Weaved throughout the net, and especially in the entrance, were some of her mana strings. The mana strings were to ensure that it would be harder for anything to rip through the netting, and the strings in the entrance would be used to help her pull up whatever she catches. The strings would also help her climatize and protect the captured creatures from sudden changes, like the different water pressure at different depths.
She made three of these nets, which would each serve a different purpose. The first net would be the one that floated at the surface, the second would be the one that would float in like the middle of depth in the ocean, or at least somewhere around there. The last net would be the one that collects creatures from the ground.
The way that she had achieved this was by attaching ice to the nets. Naturally, ice floats, but Amy could sink it to an acceptable level if she added rocks to the ice.
While she did not deploy the nets all the time, it still gained her new creatures and objects found floating or on the ocean floor.

Wanting to see all her new creatures, Amy pulled up the descriptions of all of the new additions, including those that came for the food that the ice cylinders provided.
Northern Pike
A species of carnivorous fish that is highly aggressive when it comes to feeding. This fish species moves along cold currents to its next meal.
Wax Fish
A species of grouping fish that produces a type of oil to prevent predators from coming near them.
Striped Wolffish
A species of fish with wolf-like fangs that likes to hide in rock clusters to wait for its prey before it strikes.
Lion Whiskers Jellyfish
A species of jellyfish that actively hunts their prey by using whisker-like tentacles that sense vibrations and movements of potential prey.
Fire Coral
A species of coral that creates roots that burrow deep into the Earth in search of fire mana.
Mantis Shrimp
A species of shrimp with mantis-like claws that have the grip strength of ten times its body.
Blue-Lipped Clam
A species of giant clam found near or within cold-water reefs.
Rusted Anchor
A rusted anchor of a barque ship
Worn Down Kraken Bone
A small, worn-down piece of bone from a long-dead legendary kraken. It can still be used or crafted into an object.
Piper Fish
A species of fish that hides within schools of fish to protect itself. It does this by producing a series of vibrations that makes the school fish think that it is one of their own.
Amy was quite happy with what she was able to collect, but two of the things that piqued her interest were the worn-down kraken bone and the fire coral.
The worn-down kraken bone was a small piece of bone, about three inches long and two inches wide, that seemed to be smoothed out from years of sand rubbing against it. Amy did not know how to recreate a creature long dead from a small piece of bone. But hey, she figured that in the future, she may be able to take some DNA out of the bone and make something new when she was more powerful. Its description also said that it could be used for crafting, so maybe she could figure out how to recreate the bone itself.

The fire coral piqued her interest because, in the description, it said that its roots dug deep into the ground looking for fire mana, and that meant that there was fire mana in the area. Fire mana that she wanted to get a hold of. While it might be considered weird that Amy wanted to obtain a strand or two of fire mana, especially since she is bound to a floating piece of ice, it was a little foolish to want to have that type of mana. But, if she could find strands of fire mana, she could bring it into her dimension and create different environments than the usual cold water environment found within the dimension. It would allow her to alter temperatures and have new types of adaptations and evolutions.
So if Amy wanted the fire mana, then she would have to find it. Which was going to be difficult unless she stumbled upon it due to the iceberg flowing with the currents. But the appearance of the fire coral led her to hope that there might be a place where the fire mana comes to the surface that she could find.
As Amy contemplated the nature of fire mana and where to find it, she felt something enter her territory. It was not a ship but felt more like the adventurers that had come to her. But it wasn't adventurers as it was travelling under the ocean's surface. As the being swam further into her territory, Amy was able to see what it was. It looked to be a heavily injured mermaid, no merman.
This was an interesting situation for Amy because she had an injured, what she assumed to be a sentient being, that had wandered into her territory unwillingly. She did not know what to do. Then something clicked in her mind. Maybe she could try to make him part of her dungeon in some way. Not like how she does with the animals and plants, but if she could figure out how to try to do this, it would be a boon to her.
With a bit of hesitation, Amy created a string of mana and pulled it towards the injured merman. And with a deep breath, she placed the mana string on the merman.
