《Star wars: Selfish virtue.》Chapter 23: Calamity Coda

Waiting in the corridor leading from the hangar, they could hear explosions. The blaster fire had died down shortly after they'd heard them, so they assumed the target was on his way. The tall black man was gripping his lightsaber hilt tightly as he was feeling waves of undiluted power barrel down the corridor towards them, followed shortly by a wave of heat.

"Anything on the feeds? Also, did you make sure the explosives are in place?" He asked, trying to keep his voice steady. He'd talked big, but feeling the power of his quarry his confidence was shaken.

The rodian glanced up from his pad. "Yes and yes. I believe we should abort." He said with finality.

Turning his head towards the small rodian with a faltering expression, he asked him. "Why?"

Locking eyes with their de-facto leader he answered simply. "That thing isn't something you bring down with a hit squad, you need a..." He wasn't sure how to describe it until someone else spoke up.

"An army, or weapons of mass destruction."

"Right! Thank you." He replied before they all froze. Turning their heads toward the eerie voice they saw the target was right in front of them, barely constrained heat swirling around his skin.

"Assassins?" He said in a thoughtful tone.

In shock, the tall black man lit his saber and made to attack him for the next second fly into the wall behind the rodian. His saber hilt dropped from his hands as he groaned and passed out.

Their target looked straight at the rodian and spoke up. "Are you their technical operator?"

Terrified the rodian barely mustered a nod as the man spoke again. "I see. Do not move." Looking around he soon spoke again. "Three more?"

Lifting Apathy towards the hiding place of the two he said a single word. "Suffer." What followed was a fountain of blood and organs that sprayed into the air. Having been squeezed to death, not even granted a chance to scream.

Soon the rodian heard a scream approaching as the sniper they'd put further down came flying at them violently, when he was about to impact the man he flicked his saber and fell down behind him in two parts. As the man lowered his saber again he could hear crunching sounds come from behind him, turning his gaze back he saw the lightsaber the black man used morphing into a tiny ball of metal.

Shaking he once again turned to look at their target as it spoke up. "You will turn both of yourselves in at my ship."

Answering him almost robotically he said. "I will turn both of us in at your ship."

As Coda started leaving footprints that were on fire as he walked away the rodian got up and started dragging the black man towards the hangar.

Vii and his friends were still sitting with their backs at the wall inside the hangar as they watched droves of men exit the large ship in front of them. They seemed to be unarmored but they wielded a blaster type he'd never seen before. Soon he spotted two women exit the ship as well, one of them wearing similar robes as the man that had. One had dark skin and black hair, the other was Caucasian and had blonde hair. They were both very attractive though. As if hearing him they both turned their heads towards his little group before saying something to one of the people around them.

Ten of them broke off and headed towards them. A nervous air ran through him and his friends as the group approached. Soon they came to a stop a couple of meters away from them as one stepped out.

"Greetings. I see you have disarmed, can I take that as a sign of your surrender?"

Captain Vii stood up before answering. "Yes. We surrendered to the man who exited the ship first. I'm Captain Vii Asano, we had no knowledge of the things you say are taking place on this station. We're recent hires you see." He said with self-ridicule in his tone.

Nodding, the unit replied. "Understood. If what you say is true, then you are in no danger. We will have to insist that you five follow us for now though. Lady Beatrix would like to speak to you."

"Of course, let's go guys." He said as he turned to look at his friends. Turning his head back towards the man who spoke with them he said. "Lead the way."

With five in front and five at their backs, they started walking towards the obsidian colored ship. The rest of the men who came out of the ship were securing the hangar. When they had nearly reached Beatrix they spotted a rodian drag an unconscious human into the room, he was stopped by the people guarding the door as he started to shout.

"We surrender! We surrender! Please... please let us surrender..." He said as he slowly broke down into a sob.

Though unsightly to look at it wasn't like he didn't understand. Looking around the door the man had entered from he could see charred bones, blood and half-melted people strewn about. Glancing out the hole that was made in the door he thought to himself. I doubt it's going to look any better in there...

As the two men were taken into custody they came to a stop in front of the two women. The blonde one addressing him. "Captain Vii? Or do you prefer to be referred to as Captain Asano?" She asked him.

"Just Vii now ma'am. We all quit a few minutes ago." He said scratching the back of his head.

With a neutral expression on her face, she spoke up again. "Is that so? For what reason?"

Chuckling Vii responded. "If what you guys are saying about our employers is true we want no part of it. Besides, you don't have to be a fortune teller to know that they will not be in control of this station much longer."

Trilla observed from Beatrix's side as she looked over these five men. They were all rather tall, all of them human though they had a tanner skin than most. "Are all of you from the same planet?" She asked abruptly.

Vii turned his gaze over to Trilla before answering. "Yes, ma'am. We all come from a planet inside the now called separatist space. We were away when the war started, and we have no intention of returning. A political war is something that we have no interest in."

Trilla nodded as Beatrix spoke up next. "So you claim to have no connection to the things that have been taking place aboard this station?" Vii nodded. "If that turns out to be true then you will be free to leave once we are finished here. Seeing as you are part of the security forces here, do you have access codes for the systems here?"

"Some of them, but probably nothing that matters." Vii said.

Handing him a datapad. "That's fine, please write them down anyway."

As he finished writing down his codes a soft hum could be heard as multiple dropships started flooding into the hangar. Soon there was a hangar full of them, as they deployed their ramps hundreds of units started flooding out.

"Who are you people?" Vii asked as he turned back towards Trilla and Beatrix.

"We are the Invisible Sun." Beatrix responded. "We follow Lord Coda's will."

As Beatrix and Trilla left them with their escorts Vii spoke in a low voice. "Lord Coda, huh..."

A couple of minutes passed as Coda walked down the corridor, eventually he crossed a door and entered into a large room. About twenty meters down was a massive plaza, from somewhere under the plaza he could feel a whole buffet of negative feelings. That's where they must be kept... So up is most likely where the command bridge is. He thought to himself. Turning his gaze upwards he could see that almost two hundred meters up, massive columns were coming out of the walls at an angle supporting the roof.

Using the force he pushed a button on his pad to open comms to Beatrix. "Are you in their systems already?"

"Yes, my lord! What is it that you require?" She asked back.

"Are there any civilians in the top part of the station, above the command bridge?" Coda asked calmly.

"Let me look." She said. A few seconds later she responded. "There are, but they're in shelters designed to survive a lot of damage."

Coda nodded slowly. "Are they self-sufficient when it comes to oxygen?"

In a questioning tone, she replied. "They are, why do you ask my lord?"

"Have the Prometheus ready to tractor beam the top part of the station soon. Also, send a thousand units via dropships to enter from the outside."

"My lord," Beatrix said in an unsure tone. "What exactly are you going to do?"

"Introduce chaos." As he said this the columns turned orange as they started to melt rapidly, except instead of dripping down the entire room it pooled in the air. Soon a floating lake of liquified metal floated high above him.

What exactly are you planning to do there... Oh... I see... THIS IS GOING TO BE AWESOME! BWAHAHAHAHA! "Tsk" Coda clicked his tongue. Be quiet.

Coda's body lowered slightly as he bent his knees. The area around him started to warp as he drew in power from his surroundings, metal flooring started to splinter as any glass in the area started shaking violently. Then suddenly all of it stopped, the next second Coda disappeared with a loud bang as the catwalk he was standing on along with a fifteen-meter area around where Coda had stood simply exploded in a storm of metal.

Coda shot up towards the liquid metal floating in the air, as he was flying towards it, it started rapidly spinning. HERE WE COME FUCKERS! Anger screamed in his head, as mad laughter could be heard in the surrounding area with no clear origin point. When he was about to make impact with the metal it opened up a hole for Coda, as he passed it, it acted like it was boiling as it rapidly started following him up.

When he was about to crash into the roof Coda ripped a hole through it with the force, disappearing into the next floor with an ocean of molten metal following him. As the last of it flew into the breach, it filled the gap and hardened rapidly. Leaving nothing but quiet.

Coda didn't stop at that floor as he busted through two more. The wave of death on his heels though spread out as soon as it cleared the breach, barreling down corridors and melting anything in its way into slag. Alive or otherwise. Screams of terror were short-lived as soon the entire floor had become a lake of magma.

When Coda finally stopped he glanced around to find himself behind three members of the security forces onboard. Amping up the heat he gave off they started screaming as they cooked inside their armors. Ignoring their sounds he closed his eyes and focused on the lake two floors down. Willing it to start spinning inside the floor causing shaking to build up inside the station. Lifting both his sabers, he pointed them in front of him. Things started to vibrate around him as well, his hands slowly coming apart until they pointed in opposite directions.

DO IT! HAHAHAHA, DO IT! NOW! His eyes shot open as he abruptly slashed with both sabers in an entire circle.

From outside the station, it looked like two gigantic hands ripped through the outer wall of the station where the pillar met the asteroid. As geysers of liquified metal shot out into space, explosions and tremors shot through the entire construct. Soon tearing sounds could be heard as the top part of the station, now disconnected, floated away from the asteroid...
