Mimi tried to hold on to the best of her capabilities. However, Melody took out her phone and generated more dark powers to consume and use them against Mimi. The dark laser grew more prominent and faster, as a result, making it more difficult for Mimi to hold on.
Mimi then noticed a small message bubble with a selfless wish. Soon, more showed up in her vision as she consumed each one, reading them in her head.
“Mimi, don’t forget about all of those that wished selflessly!” She heard Stanley call out.
“There are good people in this world, and you’ve made a difference, don’t let them down!” Jordan added.
Her eyes widened upon hearing those words of encouragement. Mimi smiled as the powers inside grew stronger as she fired out a mega laser to push back. The blast built and got speedier as it charged toward Melody, knocking her back. The darkness soon evaporated out from Melody’s body as she fell and hit the virtual ground.
Mimi hovered down to confront Melody face to face. Melody had bruises and scars all around her; she tried to get up from the ground but found it to be difficult in her current state.
“The time has come to put an end to your tyranny.” Mimi acknowledged, placing her hands on her hips.
“No...” Melody said weakly. “It can’t be... I don’t...”
“Face it, you lost.”
Stanley and Jordan rushed over to catch up to the two. “Is it over?” They both asked in concern.
“No, not yet,” Melody muttered. “I still... I don’t...”
A dark pulse emanated from her chest; she clutched onto the chest tightly as she ground her teeth hard. The darkness formed around her body as Melody screamed at the top of her lungs until it covered her entire body. The dark then shot out and headed toward the others at full speed.

Stanley and Jordan turned and made a break for it to try and outrun the darkness to prevent themselves from getting sucked in as well. Mimi created a barrier to block out the power from hitting them, but it kept pushing her and nearly overlapping her. Mimi rushed over and grabbed the other two, carrying them into the air to outrun the shadow from catching them.
She had a feeling Hilary wouldn’t like the news once she found out about the condition her ‘friend’ had, facing the consequences for doing what she did. Mimi had a hunch they needed to retrieve her in the other breaker room. There, she ran the wish system and attempted to remove the wish before the group left. Mimi fired out beams to attack the shadows, but they appeared to pass through and not affect it at all.
Jordan looked over and noticed the group trapped between a rock and a hard place. He got in between the groups with his arms up and his head held high.
“Hey, you. You’re going to have to go through me if you want to mess with my friends!” Jordan exclaimed.
Stanley spun and gasped. “Jordan, what are you doing?”
“Trying to make up for my misdeeds. You need to get out of here. This is your chance.”
“But why, though?”
“Remember what you told me?” Jordan asked Stanley. “Some sacrifices can be worth it.”
“But if you do this, you’re going to get—”
“Tell Hilary I’m sorry for everything.” He finished as the shadows enveloped him.
“NO!” Stanley cried, extending his arm out.
“We have to get going, or else we’ll get swallowed too!” Mimi thundered.
“No, I’m not leaving him behind!” Stanley leaped over and dove inside without hesitation.

AS LONG AS IT'S INTERESTING, ISN'T IT FINE TO LIVE AS A DUNGEON? (Hiatus)
[This story is now in Hiatus and I dont know if I'll come back to work on it again.] The story of a girl with a flare for creating a show that’s willing to let a lot of things slide so long as it’s interesting. She is summoned as the core of a newly birthed dungeon. With the power to create and destroy, what poor thing will her curiosity draw her to next? What interesting things will she show us? Note: This is just something I'm doing in between doing things. Please expect shoddy quality, a poor updating schedule, and significant rewrites. Thanks.

A Prose of Years
For decades, spiritualist Evert Kallstrom and his team have joined in humanity’s millennia-long fight against the beasts. Wielding their weapons and their ki, they fought and killed these great threats to civilization. And yet, despite their efforts, humanity was losing traction in the war. In the last fifty years alone, more cities had been overrun than in all of known history. While most thought the great beasts natural, a few knew the terrible truth. They were the product of a dark lord, who desired neither fame nor wealth nor power. Instead, his sole purpose was the genocide of humanity. While their peers dithered, a small faction of the strongest mankind had to offer—including Evert Kallstrom and his team—set out towards the Deadlands to find and confront this dark lord. After weeks of travel, twenty-one spiritualists found themselves approaching an ancient fortress wherein rested a being known only as the Eastern Guardian. All they found was death. But death has other plans for Evert. Evert bolts awake in his 16 year old body near his hometown, decades in the past. He is confused, poor and weak. But with grit, sweat, and years of experience, he won't let the future repeat itself. That level of strength won't be enough by itself (it wasn’t last time) and victory is hardly assured (he’ll need to reach farther and higher than he ever did), but Evert refuses to squander a second chance. [Other tags: First Person POV, Hard Magic, Faulty Memory] Volume 1 is complete and has been fully released. My current intention is not to write any sequel volumes. That said, I have also released appendices (SPOILERS) that cover the worldbuilding and future story-that-never-was. Comments suggesting fixes for grammar, misspellings, etc. appreciated. Note: If you came here from Candlelit Lives, these stories have nothing in common.
