Braud and Kate were waiting deeper into the forest. Braud seemed to be forcing his eyes to see into the distance.
"Do you see him yet?" Kate asked.
"No I am still looking... Wait I see him now!" Braud exclaimed.
"HEY REKA!" Kate screamed.
"Tone it down! I don't want a Grimm hoard on our tail." Braud said with an angry look.
"Just wave at him when he comes close enough!" Braud instructed.
Reka ran while looking around until he saw the 2 of them waving at him. He then ran even faster until he reached them.
Braud instantly grabbed his shoulders.
"Do you know what happened to the others?!" Braud said with a worried expression on his face.
"They are still fighting." Reka replied as he was wiping his tears.
"Darn it!" Braud exclaimed.
There was a tense silent moment between the 3 of them, as Kate suddenly remembered something.
"Guys we are currently not doing great and all have it rough, but remember they did this in order for us to escape, so please try to stay calm. Grimm are attracted to negative emotions, remember?" Kate instructed.
"Oh yeah... I forgot about that." Braud replied.
"All we can do now is get out of this forest and request for help." Reka suggested.
"The thing is, my father gave me his scroll and tried to contact people on it, but they all are not responding." Braud said with a frustrated look on his face.
"Did you check the signal?" Reka asked further.
"He did, we have a signal." Kate replied.
"Weird why are they not responding? I just have a bad feeling about this." Reka worried.
"Well, let's start to move, because it won't make sense if we keep standing around here like idiots." Braud said.
They started to move while trying to stay calm. Reka saw 2 big duffel bags with a long strap on their shoulders.
"Hey what are in those bags?" Reka asked them.
"In mine is food and in hers is bottles of water." Braud replied.
"Ah I see"
"Guys, I will look around the area again and please wait a bit." Braud said as his pink eyes turned blue.
He saw a Nevermore heading this way.
"Guys it's a Nevermore we need lay low!" Braud exclaimed.
They moved behind a tree still feeling a bit scared. The Nevermore still noticed them and shot some of his feather projectiles at them.
"Crap, it noticed us!" Reka shouted.
All of them ran from behind the tree and dodged the projectiles shot at them.
"We need a way of defeating it!" Kate screamed.
"Well, I don't have a plan!" Reka replied.
"Kate for now let's try to shoot it out of the sky and when it flies towards us take it down with the sword." Braud explained.
"Okay roger that!"
Braud and Kate were now running around shooting at the Nevermore when Kate realised something.
"Darn my shotgun is only for short range!" Kate shouted.
"My pistol doesn't seem to hurt it either!" Braud shouted back.
"So we can only let it charge at us?!" Reka asked them.
"Yes, prepare yourselves!" Braud said, throwing his duffel bag away.
Kate did the same.
"Okay whenever I give the signal we are going to jump and strike it at the same time!" Braud instructed.
Both Reka and Kate nodded.
The Nevermore started to shoot its black feather projectiles again. Reka and his friends dodged them and regrouped again. The Nevermore gave a loud screech before flying higher in the sky.

"Okay, it's gonna charge at us! On my signal!" Braud instructed.
The Nevermore charged at them trying to go for a head-butt charge, when it was right before them Braud shouted:
"Now!"
Braud, Reka and Kate jumped and stabbed the Nevermore on the back, where they then took it as the Nevermore evaporated and completely disappeared.
"We did it!" Kate exclaimed.
"All because of our buddy!" Reka added.
"Hehe thanks." Braud said while scratching the back of his hand.
"How about becoming our team leader?" Reka proposed to Braud.
"Yeah having our own team sounds awesome!" Kate shouted in excitement.
"But we never finish combat school and are you supposed to get a team at the academy?" Braud questioned.
"Pfft who cares you clearly see that things are being really weird right now, so I don't think they care. Hmm Team BKR with Braud as our leader doesn't sound bad right?" Kate replied.
"Yeah I totally agree with you." Reka added.
"Okay!... Fine, I'll do it." Braud said, finally agreeing to the proposal.
Reka and Kate gave each other a high five.
"Anyways time to check where we are currently in the forest." Braud said.
He reached for his pocket where he took out his black scroll and pressed on the golden button, where a blue screen came up. He then pressed on the map icon.
"We are still at the end of the forest." Braid said looking at the screen.
"Ugh I just want to get to the city." Kate whined.
"Hey at least on the upside we can finally completely explore the forest!" Braud said with a smile.
"While being at risk to get attacked by Grimm that is." Reka added.
After walking for a while Kate remembered something.
"Wasn't the tournament busy now?" Kate wondered.
"The one in the colosseum?" Braud replied.
"Yes."
"Let me check." Braud said, taking his scroll out again.
He went on a streaming app and pressed on the broadcast.
"Mercury black vs Yang Xiao Long." Braud read out loud.
Reka and Kate went to stand next to him to watch the fight.
The match started and the both of them exchanged some blows, but It seemed that Mercury recovered at the last second. Mercury then shot multiple projectiles from his boots which knocked Yang out. However Yang emerges from his attack stronger than ever and gives a fury of blows depleting his aura.
Yang won the fight.
"Woah that was awesome!" Reka shouted.
"I know right!" Kate replied.
"It was interesting indeed, but I wonder will we be able to fight like that one day?" Braud wondered.
"I am sure we will, now let's keep watching." Kate said, gluing her face into the screen.
Braud and Reka did the same.
Yang who was victorious started to walk away, but suddenly Mercury got back up, attacking her from behind with a flying kick, where Yang gave him a punch, knocking him to the ground.
His leg was broken and the audience was discontent.
But the footage was messed with so in reality Mercury never attacked.
"HOW DARE THAT YANG PERSON DO SUCH THING!" Kate screamed.
"YEAH ATTACKING A PERSON OUT OF NOWHERE WHAT WAS SHE THINKING!" Reka added.
"Guys!" Braud exclaimed.
"WHAT!" The both of them angrily responded.
"I think something shady is going on." Braud said.
Kate gave him a questioning look
"Braud you can see the footage right, it does not lie." she replied.

"Why would a huntress hurt someone out of nowhere, she clearly won right? There is no reason for her to do this." Braud said back.
"Hmmm maybe yeah" Reka said, kinda seeing the point that Braud was trying to make.
"We can ask around when we get to the sky." Kate replied.
"Anyways this is really lame I will turn off the scroll to conserve power."
Braud turned off the scroll and put it back in his pocket.
"Alright let's move."
Kate and Reka nodded.
All of them started to walk again. After a while they saw the railway line completely destroyed running alongside them.
"The Grimm did a huge number on the tracks huh?" Reka pointed out.
"It seems so." Kate replied.
Some time passed again and Braud gave a signal to stop.
"I am going to check the surroundings again with my semblance." Blaud said.
Braud pink eyes turned dark blue as he looked into the distance.
"Hey Braud?" Reka asked for his attention.
"Yeah?"
"How did you get your semblance? I know both of you for years, but you guys are always around the vacation only, so it never really came up to me to ask." Reka asked.
While Braud was scanning the area he started to tell his story. Reka and Kate listened
"Oh about Overseer? How I got was pretty easy I guess. I used to have very bad eyesight, so I was forced to wear very thick glasses which I was bullied for in elementary school. Every weekend my dad and I would visit the docks and look at the ships that were sailing from afar. I always loved seeing things in the distance, but it was made less fun because the glasses I had to wear, so one day I just took them off and tried to see the ships without them, of course I could not see a thing at first, but after months and months of forcing my eyes, suddenly I gained normal eyesight. But that is not all. I was also able to see things from an amazingly far distance. My eyes became literal binoculars. Haha I could remember my dad jumping around in joy when he found out I gained a semblance."
Reka smiled.
"Guys." Braud said with a concerning look.
"What is it?" Kate asked him.
"There are people in the distance." Braid looked further.
"What do they look like? Maybe they can help us." Reka asked and suggested.
"No, I don't think so. They are wearing weird masks." Braud described.
"White Fang?" Reka blurted out.
"Wait really, those guys! This is bad news." Kate worried.
"They are coming our direction we gotta hide and keep still they might have a Fanus with them that has better hearing." Braud instructed.
They all went to hide behind separate trees.
The White Fang members just walked past them when Reka then stepped on a tree branch.
A member with red hair looked back at the trees.
"Hey did you hear that?" He asked one of the members.
"Yes but it's just a branch it could be anything." He replied back.
"Yeah we can't waste time on that, we have to group up with the rest." The man responded back.
With that said they continued to walk until they were out of sight. Reka sighed in relief when Kate came up to him and started to shake him around.
"Damn it Reka almost had us killed, be careful where you step!" Kate shouted.
"So... rry." Reka apologized.
"Anyways glad we didn't get caught time to resume our travel." Braid said relieved.
Kate was thinking of something.
"Hey."
"Yeah." Braud replied.
"If the White Fang is one of the groups, then what is the other one?" Kate wondered.
"No idea." Reka replied.
"Wait Reka, how do you even know about them." Braud asked.
"My dad told me a lot of info about potential dangers outside of the Grimm, the White Fang being one of them." Reka answered.
"I heard back at Signal that they used to be a normal activist movement that turned more extreme over the years." Kate recalled.
"Anyways we don't have the time to think about that now. How about eating something before we continue walking?" Braud proposed.
"Yeah sounds good!" Reka replied with a smile.
They all sat down and Braud and Kate put in front of them. Braud passed some sandwiches and Kate passed bottles of water.
"Wow I just realised how much they have put in here." Braud said, surprised.
"Really?" Reka asked.
"Yeah there is at least enough food and drinks for a week, no wonder the bags are so heavy." Kate answered.
They ate their food and had a short break where after a while, they stood up again, closed the bags and continued walking.
Braud took out his scroll and went to the map and gave the rest a hand sign to come over.
"Okay we are almost out of the upper class section we should enter the city towards the commercial district." Braud showed.
"Sounds good." Kate replied.
Reka nodded.
The sky suddenly seemed to get a bit darker. Reka noticed that.
"Guys what time is it? Isn't it getting dark a bit soon?" He asked the rest.
Kate put her shoulders up not knowing what was happening and Braud replied back.
"I feel like something strange is happening. First the research facility, then the tournament match and now the sky suddenly darker. This is weird even for Forever Fall. It is only afternoon. I can't help but to feel a bit worried."
"Yeah we need to get to the city as fast as possible and ask for backup for the facility." Reka responded.
"Agreed!" Kate added.
After they walked again for a while, still not encountering any Grimm, they came across a person standing before a mountain that had a cave opening. He had a scroll in his hand and appeared to be talking.
"Hey a person, we can ask for help." Kate suggested.
"No keep silent we cannot trust anyone in this place! What if he has bad intentions? We need to hear what he is conversing about before making ourselves known." Braud said, turning down Kate's suggestion.
"You're awfully cautious Braud." Reka nagged.
"Yes and that is the only reason we are still alive, now shut up and listen." Braud ordered them.
They hid behind trees close by the man and listened to what he was saying.
The man wore a grey robe and had green hair with black boots. His face could not be seen since they were looking at his back.
"Hey Alphabet!" The man said with a deep tone.
A lighter male voice came out of the scroll.
"It's Alpha for you and Beta. I hope you called for a good reason." The voice said.
"Listen I found the hideout of the special Grimm." Beta reported.
"Great now I can finally attempt to take the power which is still mostly unknown to the world! I will be heading there soon, make sure to send me the coordinates " Alpha responded.
"Will do and how are things looking at the city?" Beta asked.
"Listen I think they are making a move." Alpha answered.
"They you mean..." Beta said not finishing his sentence.
"Yes, there is a plan currently being in execution. A girl called Cinder Fall just caused panic among the crowd. during the broadcast. Grimm are sure to invade Vale now. From intel I gathered the White Fang is involved as well. This could mean the downfall of Beacon, but that is exactly what I wanted because the Crown of Choice will be mine. Maybe with that relic I would be able to stop her by my own hands." Alpha explained.
Alpha recalled something.
"Beta?"
"Yes."
"Did Carlie successfully take down that research facility?" Alpha asked.
"Yeah from what I heard from her is that they are currently losing the battle against the Grimm. She and the other 2 members are heading my way now." Beta answered.
Hearing all they just discussed, Reka, Kate and Braud appeared from behind the trees.
"Hold up Alpha I got guests." Beta said.
"Make sure to take care of them. You said backup was coming right and I will be there shortly too." Alpha said, ending the call.
Beta turned around and he had sharp dark green eyes.
"Just kids huh?" He said being amazed.
"SHUT IT WE DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANY OF THAT! YOU PEOPLE WERE BEHIND THE ATTACK!! YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS!!" Reka screamed with hatred shown on his face.
"You have no idea how much of a hassle that facility was. In the past it used to work together with Merlot Industries, so we decided to take it down." Beta replied.
"Merlot Industries?" Braud wondered.
"Hahaha seems like you don't know!" Beta laughed.
"I have no idea what it was, but that was in the past! There is no good reason why other people who had nothing to do with it must die!" Braud shouted back.
"YEAH IT MAKES TOTALLY NO SENSE DESTROYING AND KILLING EVERYTHING TAKING LIVES AND LETTING PEOPLE DEAL WITH UNNECESSARY LOSS!!" Kate added.
"Kiddos let me give you some wisdom. Sometimes doing the right thing requires you to undertake actions which are not seen as good in the eyes of others, as long as it is for a greater cause. Not that you kids will be alive to see that though" Beta said taking out his sword.
"GUYS I HAD ENOUGH OF HIS CRAP!! LETS KICK HIS ASS!" Kate suggested.
"YEAH!" Both Reka and Braud replied.
All of them drew their weapons ready to attack.
"Hmpf let's see what you puny kids can do."
