"Aigar, here you are," a tall four-armed woman with silver skin said. "You know, you can be hard to find sometimes."
The person she was addressing, Aigar, was a handsome man who seemed to possess a pair of fox ears on his head and he had 9 golden tails swaying back and forth at his hips.
"Strigmal? Why are you here?" Aigar asked despite already knowing the answer. "Ha-ah... there's only one reason you'd come find me at my personal Convergence Tower. It's already time again, isn't it?"
He seemed annoyed at the real reason for Strigmal's visit but not at the woman herself.
She shrugged with her 4 arms as she said, "Seeing how far away from The Core you are, I'd guess you're getting the message right about... now."
Hello, Guardian Aigar. The Game will begin on planet 58 in 6-months, 21-days and 34 minutes. Select a player from the list below to represent you. Planet 18's Delagu'or. Planet 7's Chris Marston. Planet 96's Flame Whisper. Planet 307's unnamed Fulgar Wolf Leader. Planet...
He quickly dismissed the list. "I do not have time for this."
Strigmal laughed. "I assumed so. I looked through your options before coming here and I've selected a compatible player for my own selection. Care to see their information?"
"Sure. If it makes this go faster without holding me accountable for making a poor decision, then I'm perfectly fine with whoever you chose," Aigar said dismissively.
"Have a look regardless," Strigmal said in a bit of a mysterious tone which wasn't uncommon for her.
A moment late the details of her hand-picked player entered Aigar's vision.
Darren McCullen Planet of origin: Planet 82, locally called Earth or Terra Species: Human Soul Slots: 10 Adaptability: Extremely High Special compatibility: Can be changed into a Golden Foxkin with Guardian Aigar's blessing if his identity is morphed with a fictitious one he is closely tied to

"That's a lot of soul slots for someone from a somewhat magically barren planet. Also, that compatibility sure is rare. I guess you spent a lot of time looking," Aigar said uncaringly.
Strigmal nodded slowly in confirmation.
"Well, if you think this 'Darren' is a good choice, so be it. Core, I choose this one," Aigar said, resulting in a smile spreading across Strigmal's beautiful face.
Confirmed. Please decide if you shall dictate the usage of your chosen player's Soul Slots and leave a welcome message along with a single promise.
Aigar clicked his tongue as his 9 golden tails swished about in annoyance. "This is always such a bother."
He sighed then said, "Well, I should at least give the poor thing some powers... It always surprises me how incompetent lesser beings are at choosing all of their powers on their own."
Aigar paused for a moment to consider which powers of his to gift, exactly.
"Very wise," his four-armed guest noted.
Aigar ignored her and cleared his throat since he'd come to a decision, "Ahem, well, here goes. 'Hey, kid. I gave you 5 of my powers...'"

The Loyal Ones [Dark Biopunk Fantasy]
TLDR; A slave monster survives horror, war and servitude, while trying to live with himself. Thralls are a race of monstrous slave soldiers, in a universe where biological magic takes the place of technology. Centuries ago, their ancestors were desperate humans, who volunteered to be transformed for the Poison War. Today their unfortunate descendants are still soldiers and laborers. In contract law they are 'corporate wards'; slaves owned largely by arms dealers. Dally Harper starts this story as a champion cage fighter. He is one of the 'lucky' ones. It's all downhill from there. Content Warning: Explicit violence and gore, slavery, implied sexual assault. None of these are framed as positive or glorified, however they do have a strong impact on the plot and main characters.
