Dear Reader:

My name is Valen Vorstof and I am leaving this letter to anyone who is willing to read it. My life was that of a pilot, specifically, in the U.S. Navy, and here is my story.

Being a jet fighter pilot during peacetime is quite the boring job, so pilots need to find ways to entertain themselves. Having sex with your squadron commander while aboard an aircraft carrier is one of them. Unfortunately, getting naughty in a pilot's seat during the night is very much frowned upon.

We were caught, she was demoted and transferred, while I was given a dishonorable discharge. At the age of 25, I found myself working on planes as a mechanic on an airstrip.

So up for sale near the airstrip was a house. It was a dirty, ugly thing, but it had a quite reasonable price tag. So I asked for a loan from the bank and the former owner was more than happy to get it off their hands. The house was pretty large, 3 floors with cement walls. It was only when I visited the basement at night that I actually felt it. A vibration in the air and a ringing in my ears. As I stood there, I felt something primal in me want to be released. With but a thought, energy surged out of me and straight into the air. I was transported to another world, filled with various kinds of plants and spiked trees, glowing all around me, humming to the sense of the portal. That feeling and energy I felt leave me, I termed mana, is far more amazing than humanity may ever realize. For me, its usage was two fold.

First off, it was a means to portal between Earth and this new world, but more interesting is my ability to transport items into something of a pocket dimension. A space only I have access to. I surround any item with mana, and poof, it’s gone. Granted, larger objects can take a while to cover.

Now dear reader, I can only guess on your curiosity on how I became a billionaire. Those glowing trees I talked about; yes the spikes on those trees are pure diamond. Yes, the same diamonds whose structural integrity is far stronger than a synthetic diamond, while having the shatter resistance of jadeite. Unique, expensive, and crystal clear.

For four years now, I have been preparing, buying goods and services. Tens of thousands of tons of items are currently in my inventory, all with but a thought away from appearing. I have never ventured far in that other world, but I plan to take a long vacation into it. This letter I will leave here in case I do not return in the ten years time I have allotted myself.
