So, I started playing the PPVS and became a member of this race of blueish aliens. They have three genders and a hive mind. It’s weird but so cool! I have just enough free will to go adventuring but enough of a hive mind to work perfectly in sync with my fellow party members. It’s wild. You gotta try it!
There were many ways I could exterminate these rats. I could use poison, but that was expensive and would take too long. I could run around while kiting them to slaughter them one by one. My skills were high enough that I could avoid them easily as long as I made no mistakes. Of course, I vetoed that option since I’d need the energy to get through the rest of the dungeon. No, instead I decided on my favorite thing. Music.
I found a hidden alcove and blended into my surroundings. With a flick of my wrist, I brought out my Lutzithen. It’s magic would force it to stay perfectly in tune so I merely rested my fingers against the strings and gently played, “The Lullaby.” I made the notes barely audible and drifted them over the rat-infested cavern.
The brief thought floated through my mind that I might accidentally catch Mia. My fingers almost tripped over the chords, but I persevered. I’d seen her stalk a rat down a side tunnel so this was a perfect time.
As the song went on, I could feel my listeners fall under its power. Time to push it. Slowly, gently, the sound grew louder. Beautiful notes appeared, like the rushing bubble of a river, the soft sound of snow falling and the crackle of a burning fire. These sounds turned into feelings. The warmth of steaming cinnamon milk. A fluffy blanket. Cloud mattresses. Bedtime cuddles from a loved one. Happy dreams.

Now.
I stood from my spot and walked while playing, keeping time with each step. Each of the rats I encountered had fallen asleep. It was expected since I was levels above them all and had my Sound Manipulation skill in the advanced levels. After I checked every single rat to ensure their unconsciousness I sang the last lines.
“This somniferous sound lulls you to the bedded ground. Safe. So just close your eyes. And go to sleep. Go to sleep...”
I breathed out and sent my instrument back into its space. I bit my lip as I looked at them and equipped a cheap bow and quiver since there were too many for me to deal with quickly with magic. And I didn’t have a lot of time, considering they could wake up at any moment.
I knocked and arrow, pulled back and released. With a soft thunk it embedded into a nearby rat. But that was just the beginning.
I kept pulling and kept killing.
Boom!
A rat nearest to the tunnel Mia had traveled down twitched and turned its head. It was starting to wake up! I let loose several arrows to kill it before it fully rose.
Boom!
A muscle in my jaw ticked. I told her to go assassinate a rat and level her stealth skills. Just what was she doing causing explosions all over the place?
Several more rats started to wake up. I closed my eyes. If they woke up now I’d have to start kiting them and I really didn’t want to do that. I was almost done!
Then I had an idea and began to sing again, this time a song of sleeping during battle. Sleeping to the sounds of magic blasts and war drums. Sleeping to a chorus of whistling arrows and cries for help. Sleeping.

And as I sang, I killed. And as more soft noises echoed from Mia’s tunnel, I used that sound to weave a deeper web of sleep.
Congratulations! Due to your constant creative use of Sound Manipulation, your skill has leveled to 68!
I grinned. A new skill level!
Well, I guess wouldn’t be hard on her because of this after all.

Palus Somni
It is the final days after the end of the world and you only have one month left before the last sanctuary erupts into chaos. There's a dead body hanging from a tree and cadaverous giants watch you sleep at night. The end is already here, you just don't know it yet. Now rated in the top 3% of all novels on Royal Road! Palus Somni (‘Marsh of Sleep’) is a worldbuilding webnovel about what happens when your God forsakes you. Inspired by gothic horror and mingled with British myth and folklore, join the Alucinari nuns as they struggle with day-to-day life after the world has ended. Every night when the sun sets the monstrous Gol, colossal beings with too many teeth, awaken and roam the marshlands. Only those with a faithful heart will be spared. Young acolyte Wille has never seen the walls fail, but when a fellow nun is murdered within their sanctum the very safety of the monastery is thrown into question. Did the Gol find a way to breach their defences, or is there a human traitor amongst them? The answer lies both far in the past and deep beneath the earth, through the maze of ancient catacombs. With a cast of over thirty different characters, watch as your friends and enemies spiral into inevitable madness at the hands of a callous and unforgiving world. Discover the secrets of Palus Somni through letters, diary entries and notes found scattered across the monastery. Uncover the mystery of the grotesque giants that stalk the night and bring your challenge to the Gods themselves. Each character has their own handmade pixel art, and every update includes a music recommendation for a dark atmospheric dungeon synth album that you can listen to while you read. Slice of life meets cosmic abomination: Palus Somni is a collection of intertwining stories, some chapters are stand-alone tales while others feed into the overarching narrative. It is an exploration into a community, and rather than focusing on any one character the story meanders through the convent, exposing the hopes and fears of its inhabitants. Story updates every full moon.

I guess I'm about to find out. **** This is the story of a web fiction addict who goes into debt because of his love of reading Wuxia and LitRPGS. He’s captured, thrown into a cell, and forced to write web fiction in order to pay off his debt. In a world where reads pay for food, better cells, and equipment to write on, only the most crafty writers can survive. Enjoy this slice-of-life story about a web fiction author cultivating his writing ability and trying to reach the pinnacle of online fiction. **** People say reading’s supposed to be good for you. I’ve never heard a bigger lie in my life. Reading has only ever brought me disappointment and heartbreak. I read web fiction, and if you don’t know what that is then stay the hell away from this book. You don’t want to know what it is - because when you find out you’ll be hooked for life.
8 152Code Reader Kagami (LitRPG)
Sometimes things happen in this world that we are not in control of. Sometimes we are to a certain degree, and sometimes we are completely in control. However, this is a tale that constantly questions those boundaries. The story follows Kagami, a young programmer, as he winds up in a world almost alien to him. If it were up to him, he would have never visited this world and would rather stay raising his young daughter. Was it through his own actions that he had wound up here? Was it due to several combinations of factors? Or was it something he completely chose. These are questions that constantly haunt Kagami’s mind as he wanders this world and ponders his actions. Unfortunately, the glaring truth of it all refuses to ever look him in the eyes. Each night as he looks up at the night sky, he wonders if the end of this would turn out like the game he made. A tale of Guts and Glory… or would it turn out like he fears, a tale of blood and tears. Regardless of how it turns out, he will one day unveil the truth enshrouding it all. And perhaps in doing so, unveil the fate of his old world, enshrouded by mystery. ___________________________________________________________________________ While this is a typical Isekai started by the infamous truck-kun, the story is most definitely not what is to be taken at face value. I love making tragic twists into these types of stories. For Code Reader Kagami, you'll begin to see a descent into psychological madness. As your hero changes entirely from the moral man he initially was. If you're not a fan of dark aspect stories, this one is not for you. Thank you~
