Triple Release!
Also, most probably no releases next week. But that might change, I dunno for sure.
---------------------------------------
A new stream of information was branded into his mind as the old monk’s presence disappeared. It was the next 9 moves of the Divine Vajra Body Scripture! Fang Hao drifted into unconsciousness and soon woke up past noon the next day. He was feeling fresh and full of vitality, and ravenously hungry. ‘I missed today’s dawn meal and exercised a lot whole night! I could eat half a dozen of those spirit chickens by myself easily.’ thought Fang Hao as he donned his armor. He felt as if the fitting of the armor was a bit off. Everything felt a bit loose. ‘Awwww Yeah! I became thinner. OK, I am still a fatass but still losing almost half an inch of blubber from my figure surely worth celebrating.’
He looked at the couple of fistfuls of fasting pills and the empty jugs as he sighed, ‘Only way I can celebrate is eating the free food at the dining hall now that all my wine ad most of my fasting pills are gone… I hope the consequence of swallowing more than 400 fasting pills in one night doesn’t leave too much hidden dangers. Let me check my status screen!’

Fang Hao inspected the changes in his status. Some were expected and some shocked him. All his stats had increased significantly, though it didn’t double his stats or anything. His physique probably surpassed even a peak Qi Condensation Cultivator now. Of course even a low Qi Condensation Disciple could kill him with long range spells, but still his physique had jumped an entire realm if his opponent didn’t refine his body somehow. Even his Qi had increased by a significant portion; probably due to all the spirit wine he swallowed at one go which caused his dantian to almost crumble.
He had also successfully formed his first 1st seal, and a new trait “Primordial Marrow” was visible in his status screen. He guessed that the first seal cleansed his body and increased the quality of his marrow to build the foundation for further transformations of his fleshly body. ‘I need to experiment and speculate what exactly Primordial marrow does.’
He also had a new status effect “Alchemical Toxicity (Mild)”. He had expected more severe consequences from ingesting hundreds of fasting pills in such a short span of time. As far as he knew, attempting to ingest around 100 fasting pills at one go would build up enough toxicity which could take almost a year to cleanse. And as the number of fasting pills consumed increased more, the time needed increased exponentially. ‘Somehow I don’t think I will need a decade to get rid of this “Alchemical Toxicity (Mild)” status effect. Most of the impurities were excreted then and there due to forming my first seal, I suppose. Still no more spirit wine and pills till this status effect disappears.’

He also casually glanced at his unused skill points and xp and was surprised. He regularly tried to “Use Skill Points” and always the same blue box popped up which informed him that there was nothing to spend skill points on. Although his unused skill points didn’t increase, he had gained more than 8000 xp! ‘So cultivating does provide xp! I wonder why I never got xp before? I learned the different layers of the sublime Qi Manual before, but only received skill points for that. But then again I never cultivated successive layers without leveling up in between. Then again I mastered the subsequent moves of the Divine Vajra Body Scripture and never noticed any xp increase…’
‘Perhaps I get xp only when I breakthrough cultivation bottlenecks? Vice versa, in my Qi Cultivation I use xp to level up so that I face no bottlenecks! Hmmm, I did get information that a majority of janitorial disciples face quite a big bottleneck after reaching the 6th layer of Qi gathering. Perhaps each layer in Qi cultivation has small bottlenecks, which when overcome give xp resulting in a levelup. And at the peak of Qi gathering there is a huge bottleneck for most to reach Qi Condensation.’
‘I still need around 4000 xp for a breakthrough to Qi Condensation. Damn, I wish I had more fasting pills left then I could at least bribe others to challenge me. I would probably have to fight unarmored and unarmed for them to accept, but still was a possible source of farming xp with the pills. Whenever I attempt the next breakthrough, whether it is in QI Cultivation or forming the next seal, I should save up more resources. If I didn’t have the few hundred fasting pills, my breakthrough attempt would have failed almost wasting a jug of that awesome spirit wine!’
‘Now I can either be quiet to take another year and half to breakthrough to Qi Condensation through slaughtering chickens, go all out in the annual completion and win the first place for a significant chunk of xp and resources or save a few weeks’ worth of spirit wine and when my “Alchemical Toxicity (Mild)” status effect disappears, breakthrough with the help of a Qi Condensation Manual.’
‘While the present 10th layer of the sublime Qi Manual can be used to reach the Qi Condensation stage, it will be better to consult with a senior for guidance on some better scripture. I will need a new Qi Cultivating manual in the Qi Condensation stage anyway. So might as well use a superior scripture for a breakthrough. Also I should restrain myself in the coming tournament. After forming this first seal, I can confidently say that I am unrivalled in brawling in the Qi Gathering Realm. Still better be cautious and not risk exposure of my body refining scripture unless the rewards are worth it.’
‘I have spent almost 3 years and delaying a few months for a breakthrough won’t be end of the world. Still why do I feel the frantic urge to advance as fast as possible? Is there some sort of calamity approaching the Sect? Forget it; I will dominate the annual competition only if the rewards are worth it. Let’s think about it when I actually learn the rewards. For now, I am so damn hungry and there is still a couple of hours till the dusk meal…’

How to Make a Wand
When mage Magdala Gallus gets suspended from Magisterium for making explosives instead of focusing her rare alchemical skills on more productive pursuits, her mother ships her off to her uncle, the absent-minded but brilliant Lord Kalan, as punishment. Hard at work creating an instrument capable of converting magic, her uncle soon draws Magdala into his quest for a dragon scale—the only thing that can prove his theory that magic is the same for everyone. However, as Magdala, Lord Kalan, and Lord Kalan’s unusual apprentice, Dwayne, soon realize, it’s an impossible mission. With bandits populating the region where the dangerous creatures live and a pair of mercenaries who aren’t who they seem, it will take more than their magic to find and kill a dragon . . . and stay alive.

Cinder Roots (Undergoing a Rewrite)
This novel is currently undergoing a major rewrite, as I noticed several plot points that needed to be revamped. I'll leave the chapters I've posted here to anyone curious to see how everything started, but I'll be posting the rewritten story as a new novel in the future. The characters will be the same, but the journey will be more understandable and hopefully, a lot more fun to read. -------- First, everything was fire, it killed, it consumed, and it gave him life. He was just a tree, born in the biggest forest that remained in the world, full of dryads, naiads, elves and treants, but he was alone. He couldn’t see. He couldn’t talk. Curiosity plagued him. He dreamed of wandering the land, but could only wonder what stood outside the reach of his roots. The tree was tired of waiting. He decided to not just dream, but to act. How could he survive against a invading empire, a grand conspiracy that threatened to shake the foundations of the world, and the raw danger that lies within these woods? With pure determination. Warning - There are quite a few POV changes in the first chapters, but that'll change after the introduction is done, as I'll be focusing on the MC perspective only.
