《I Get a Second Chance and Accidentally Become a God》Hey, Aren't I Too Overpowered

First day of school as a junior: My homeroom is summoned to another world.

That same day: I meet her

7 years later: We fail our mission, I die.

……

So, then, how am I sitting here? Back in my old world, as a student once again. My body is exactly as I remember it, before the transfer. I grab my phone, fumble around in trying to turn it on, and check the date.

It is June 14th. The day after school lets out for summer. That means I have the entire summer until the first day of school. By that I mean, an entire summer until the transfer.

Last time, I wasn't able to act selfishly, to do what I wanted. This time, I don't care what it costs, I will live with the woman I came to love.

The time I have before the transfer is very useful, because of how the transfer affected those in it. It wasn't some random distribution of cheat skills, like you read in the novels.

Instead, it takes whatever skills you have in this world, and amplifies them. A lot.

Last time, I got and

Arithmetic was pretty useless, considering our purpose in that world was to fight against monsters. Reading was surprisingly useful, due to it's range of use. Not only could I read entire books within just a few minutes, I could also read a variety of other things. For instance, someone’s intentions, a monster’s next move, the entire makeup of the enemy’s magical formula. It also doubled as an analysis skill, which is surprisingly rare.

Parallel thinking allowed me to multitask. Not in the way where you just switch between two things very quickly, but truly multitasking. Writing an essay and drawing something simultaneously would have been no problem for me at the time. The acting skill allowed me to easily, well, act. Of course, it was so convincing that no one had ever seen past me.

I got each of these for certain reasons. because I am an avid reader. because I am among the top students in math. because I am always attempting to multitask. Finally, because I am never really letting my true self show.

It’s not like it’s because I’m doing anything bad, I just want to fit in. On that note, I don’t really have any friends. I’m friendly with plenty of people, but there’s no group at my school that I would fit in with.

Well, it doesn’t matter now. After all, I’m seven years older than them, with plenty more life experiences. In fact, I’m not even a virgin anymore. Actually, I’m sure there are a bunch of people in my class who can say the same, which just makes me feel bad when I remember that I definitely would have stayed a virgin at least until the end of high school.

Well, no matter. I will use this summer so that I can become the strongest in the other world.

……

My first stop, the gym. Some of my classmates got the skill, which increases all aspect of physical power, and also endurance.these people could punch rocks to pieces. In my past life, I became a sage using my skills, but I was sorely lacking in my close combat abilities.

I’ll start with the skill, as it’s the best for an overall increase in physical capabilities.

While I was exercising, I realized something incredible. I still have my four main skills. I didn’t realize before, because there was no reason to activate them, but parallel thinking is a passive ability. They are each very watered down compared to my peak, but they will help immensely. Before I even knew it, I was running on the treadmill, adjusting it’s speed, and also looking at the calendar on my phone. I had exactly 79 days until the first day of school.

As I continued to exercise, I started to plan out how I would distribute my time during these few months. It was fairly easy using and .

During the time I had, I would learn these new skills, , , , , , , , , and .

Those were the ideal skills that I could think of for now. Of course, to actually have something be identified as a skill is more difficult than just doing it a few times. You can’t just swing a hammer at metal, then call yourself a blacksmith. You have to at least know what you’re doing in each of these things. Luckily, I had learned many things in my past life, so I should be able to get each of these fairly quickly. If there’s any time leftover, I will use it to acquire even more skills.

And in case you’re wondering, it seems that I can still use some elementary level magic in this world, which should allow me to get the skill. is basically just chemistry. has to do with wisdom and worldly knowledge, so I might even already be good in that sense. Just to be sure, though, I will use my reading skill to read the classics, like Machiavelli.

……

After weeks of training ‘till I pass out, or reading ‘till my eyes burned, it is finally time. My first day of school. The day of the transfer.

Without a doubt, I’ll be the strongest this time. Then I can be myself, be selfish, and do what I want.

There were a few greetings as I came into the class. To be honest, I can’t recall most of their names. Of the 15 students in the class, around 6 died within the first year. Most survived much longer than that, but I was alone for the last two years.

It won’t be like that this time. If I have to massacre the demon’s armies to be free, then I will do so immediately. So that I can leave them behind without a guilty conscience.

I sat down in my seat at 7:50. We should be teleported just as the first bell of the day rings at 7: 55. As I sat there, staring at my watch, someone surprisingly approached me.

“Mason, what is up, my dude. I didn’t see you at all this summer. Have you been working out? You look ripped.”

Jason, the friendliest guy in class, or maybe even the whole school. He survived until the fifth year, because he is a boxer, and got the skill. Usually people who act this friendly are actually mean, or have some other ulterior motive. Not Jason, he’s an all-around nice guy.

Oh yeah, my name is Mason, did I forget to say that?

“What’s up, Jason. Yeah, I figured I’d get myself a beach bod this summer.”

Naturally, I wouldn’t tell him that we will all be summoned to a different world in just a minute.

“Sick, man. See ya later!”

He walked off towards his main group of friends. In this school, my standing is fairly neutral. I’m the guy who everyone knows, nobody hates, and nobody loves. I’m just… there.

I don’t mind it, talking to people is usually just a nuisance, not to mention that I was even more anti-social in my past life.

Luckily, I won’t have to worry about that in just a minute. I’ll be free to avoid whoever I want. Then, I can see her. I will never get bored of being with her.

As I was reminiscing, a magical circle appeared under everyone’s feet.

I smiled, so it was finally time!

……

In a white space, everyone but me was freaking out.

“HEEELLLLLOOOOOO, WHERE ARE WE!!???”

It was kinda annoying, to be honest. Couldn’t they just shut up for a few seconds, until the god’s show up.

Just as I thought, blinding lights started to descend all around us. They were the gods of this world.

“Greetings, children. I am Falda, the God of Creation, and these are my fellow god’s.”

Everyone was in shock, but they couldn’t really deny it for one simple reason. Falda was, simply put, huge.

Like, each hair of his was longer than the Empire State Building. He had grey hair, and a friendly smile. He wore a toga. As far as I can remember, he is the most worshipped god in the world.

Beside him was Inka, the Goddess of Beauty. I wonder why she doesn’t look as beautiful as I remember, though?

Also around us were the God of War, the Goddess of Wisdom, and some others who didn’t have as high a standing.

“W-Why are we here? Where are we?”

Jason was the first to get his wits about him, and asked what everyone else was thinking.

“You are in a different world, with swords and magic. You are here because the power balance of the world is in danger, and the world will collapse at this rate.”

Falda wasn’t lying. The demons have created outrageously powerful artificial demons. They alone could take over every other race in the world with ease. Although I don’t understand the whole ‘world collapsing’ bit, I don’t really care.

“How can we help? We’re just normal students.”

Jason asked frantically.

“Do not worry, we cannot create new skills for you, but we can take any skills that you currently have, and boost them to their limit. This will allow you to thrive in this world. We will give them now, so please don’t panic.”

Just like last time, a light surrounded us for a quick 10 seconds. When it died down, I could feel the difference in my ability. I have definitely reached where I was at the peak of my last life-no, I’ve far surpassed it.

“This world is just like one of those RPG’s from your world. Now, say [status].”

Everyone did so after their shock died down, including me.

I eagerly looked at my status screen.

Strength:4,300

Constitution:8,600

Dexterity:7,100

Intelligence:106,000

Skills: Etc.

My parameters nearly scared the shit out of me. In my previous life, my highest strength was 900. This is considered a fair bit above the strongest human. My constitution was even more pitiful, at around 600, which is about equal to the strongest human. My dexterity wasn’t ever too bad, at around 2,000. My intelligence was the pride of my last life, but the highest it ever reached was 14,000.

All these, compare to the normal human, are amazing, but the artificial demons still took us all out. However, with my current stats, I simply can’t see myself losing. To anything.

I then scrolled through my skills. I got everything I trained for. There were even some others that I did not expect, but will gladly welcome, such as which I assume came from my previous life.

There was an odd skill, called . I used my reading skill on it, to acquire more information

Devotion: You have devoted all your love to one person.

Effects: Immunity to all mind-affecting abilities

Oh, this was quite good. Haha, she’s helping me even now, before I’ve met her in this time.

“What’s the average person’s status like in this world?”

Jason, who seemed to have become the leader, asked.

“The average person has about 5 in each stat, and low-leveled daily use skills, like . The strongest human has about 700 in each stat, and two high-leveled fighting skills.”

“Wha-then aren’t I too powerful!? My strength is 2,000!!”

“Well, that is when you compare yourself to a human. The enemies we want you to stop are the demons, specifically those working on the artificial demon project. The average artificial demon has about 4,000 in each stat. There’s no need to worry of course, none have nay high-level skills. Not to mention you guys still have potential for growth.”

Jason let out a breath of relief.

“Oh, well in that case, we’ll be sure to stop these demons for you.”

“I must give you my gratitude. Us gods have worn ourselves out by upgrading your skills, so we cannot be sure of your abilities. However, with a strength of 2,000, you will surely be on your way to defeating those demons. Do you have any questions?”

This time, it was a black-haired girl who spoke up. If I recall correctly, her name was Jan-wait, maybe it was Jen-or maybe Jess? It definitely started with a J. She was a pretty girl, and I think she became a spearman.

“Is there any way for us to return home?”

My ears perked up at this, she didn’t ask last time. How odd. I used on her, and checked her skills. I was both disappointed and relieved to find out that she wasn’t like me. She didn’t have or any other skills that would come with going back in time. The rest of her stats were normal as well. Also, her name is Jenna. I was close enough.

Either way, I was interested in hearing Falda’s answer. If it turns out that I get summoned back as soon as the demons are defeated, I might have to keep them alive somehow. After all, I don’t want to go back to my world, if I did, I would’ve just stayed out of the room this morning.

“When, you finish the mission we have given you, you can either stay in this world, or return to your old one. Is that all?”

Perhaps given courage by Jenna’s question, others began to speak up as well.

“Why can’t you deal with this yourselves?”

It was a valid question, but I knew the reason for it.

“While our stats are easily enough to defeat the enemies, we can’t interfere in the world. If we did, it would only hasten the collapse of the world.”

Hmmm, interesting. I was never sure if the gods actually saw their status like we do, but it seems they even have their own stats. Legitimately curious, I asked.

“So, what are your stats like?”

Falda seemed amused by my question.

“Hahaha, our stats are many times greater than the human limit. Each of them reaches at least 75,000.”

Damn, that’s amazing.

“However, for the things we are more specialized in, we can even have 99,999.”

Eh?

Wai-surely I heard wrong.

I’m sure that in their fields, gods can reach up to much more than 99,999. Perhaps he meant to say 9,999,999.

“I’m sorry, could you repeat that?”

My voice shook a little as I spoke.

“No need to be so amazed, boy. But yes, it’s true that we can even reach up to 99,999 in a stat. Roa, our goddess of wisdom, even has an intelligence stat of 99,999.”

“…”

Huh?

I knew I was broken, but isn’t this too much?

So I’m actually smarter than the goddess of wisdom. No, that can’t be it. I’m sure she has a skill or something that makes her smarter than me. I discreetly read Roa’s status.

...Luckily, it seems like there is one.

Goddess of Wisdom: You are the wisest in the land. Your advice is sought after by the masses.

Effects: You make only the wisest of choices.

What a vague description. Now that I think about it, I should also check the effects of some of my skills. Though I had in the last life, it was only medium-level. The effects have probably changed now that it’s at such a high level.

Sage: You look at worldly affairs objectively.

Effects: Mana regeneration x10. Maximum Mana x10. All lies are seen through.

What an overpowered skill. Before, it only doubled my mana and it’s regeneration. Even then it’s considered an extremely high class skill. It even has a lie detector now.

In this world, there is such a thing as mana, which is based directly off of the intelligence stat. There is no MP bar, however. You can tell how much you have through just feeling it. It’s an instinctual mage thing, don’t question.

While I’m at it, you may have noticed that there isn’t an HP bar either. That’s because such a thing would be ridiculous. If I cut someone’s head off, they are dead, that’s all there is to it. On that same note, throwing rocks at something much stronger than you for hours on end would never kill it.

Just because there are stats and skills, doesn’t mean this world is a game.

While thinking this, I looked away from the skill’s screen, and scrolled through my other skills, to see if there was anything else interesting.

...

Um, what?

God of Magic: You alone hold the secrets to all magic in the world.

Effects: 99.9% decreased mana consumption. Mana Regeneration x100. Maximum Mana x100. All affinities increase to 100%. Free control of mana. Magical formulas no longer required. 99.9% increased magic resistance

The Intelligence: All information is within your grasp

Effects: Find the answer to any question you have.

Well this is just unfair. How the hell did I even get the skill!?

Also, what’s up with this ?? It sounds amazing.

I tried using it, after all, if it can answer my every question like it says, then I’ll know why I have it.

When I used it, a screen like the status screen popped up in front of me. It had a white background, a search bar, and in bright colors, ‘Google’.

“...”

Seriously? I’ll brush it off for now, I can ignore that much after the consecutive shocks I’ve been given today.

I didn’t actually need to type anything in, I just had to think of it. When I thought ‘How did I get and ’, a screen came up.

God of Magic requirements: Intelligence greater than 75,000. skill. skill. Use supreme magic of every attribute at least once. Use grand supreme magic of at least one attribute. Understand the essence of magic.

The Intelligence requirements: Intelligence greater than 100,000.

I see, so that’s why. I get most of it, but what’s the essence of magic? Even after I asked multiple times to , it never responded. Whatever, apparently I understand it.

“Mason!”

I jumped and instinctively readied an incineration magic before realizing it was just Jason. I seem to have spaced out for a minute there.

“What?”

“Do you have any other questions? Falda said he would send us to a field leading to the kingdom, and that they already know that we will be arriving.”

I had almost forgot that we don’t get teleported straight to the castle.

“Ok, I’m ready, no other questions.”

“Got it, we’re all prepared, Falda.”

Falda smiled and laughed.

“Haha, then I wish you luck.”

With that, we truly started our journey into another world. Well, it’s not like it’s my first time.
