《Honey, I'm home! [HIATUS]》03 Curing a zombie's hives

Oh, this is gross.
This is really, really gross.
Apparently getting free is going to be harder than I thought. I asked the bees one at a time to help chew me out of the zombie, apparently I can control one bee per skill level on a task with coerce bees. How do I know this? I'm level 1 now instead of level 0. Seeing out of two bees at the same time, while they try to chew holes in zombie flesh is absolutely nauseating. It's a good thing these bees can't taste much, because if I had to taste this too I would be.... unhappy. At least they aren't eating it.
For now I'm investing my efforts in figuring out how not to feel like I need to vomit with the multiple perspectives. I'm not too worried, at the rate these bees are chewing, I have plenty of time to figure it out.
Plenty of time.
Plenty... of time.
Lots of time.
Oh, look, I can see a rib!
Wait a minute...... I'm a fool. I forgot about the bone! I can't fit between the ribs! I don't know how big I am but I'm bigger than a heart. I screwed up!!!!!!
Aww, fudge crackers! At least there's plenty of flowers the bees like, I'm not going to starve or anything. Why the hell are there flowers underground anyway? That mini sun must be feeding the plants, but this, and the plant zombie things doesn't seem natural.
Whatever, I gotta focus on freedom. These strange goings on might be important, but they are less important than getting the heck out of here. And I have to start over and get myself out through the bottom of the ribcage instead of being a moron. I guess panic does make you do stupid things, even when you think you've calmed down.

Chew chew chew.
Chew chew chew.
Chew chew chew.
Oh, I leveled up my skill again. And I figured out how to shut off BeeVisionTM.
Turns out there's these weird mental threads attached to my senses that funnel in those bee senses. If I pinch em a bit with my brain the input stops. Yes, I know it sounds dumb. You try to explain it then!
Ooh, a new bee was born. After asking a bee to go help me count the other bees (way harder than it sounds, they never all stop moving around) I've determined there's now exactly 14 of them. They're all slightly different, and the longer I spend watching them and asking them to do stuff, the more obvious it becomes. There's two older ones, with dull carapace and going a bit bald, both of whom refuse to help with the escape plan. They just make honey all day. Honestly I can't blame them. I kind of picture them like old retirees.
There's 8 adults who seem quite enthused about the escape plan, at this point I can request things from 5 of them now, but I only ask 4 at a time so the others can have some leisure time to eat and sleep.
There's the queen, she seems pretty lazy honestly. If we had netflix, she'd be watching it right now, I can tell. Surprisingly these bees aren't especially promiscuous, but they all go up to the queen and do funky dances all the time. She spends a lot of the day doing weird dances at the other bees, or napping. Honestly not sure what that's all about.
There's three young bees now, and the young bees seem absolutely dead set on doing the opposite of whatever I say. They all hang out together, and I just know they are corrupting the new member of the family. They keep building on the hive even though I asked them not to. At least they're industrious little delinquents.

I think when I use BeeVisionTM I pick up a little of their emotions. Didn't know bees had emotions, but you learn something new every day. These bees are also probably really big compared to any bees I remember seeing back home. I wonder what kind of bees they are? They don't look like honeybees, and they're making papery structures, but they do make honey. How buzzare.
I only realized when one landed on the zombie's forearm, but all the bees are only a bit smaller the zombie's thumb. People on this world could be really small, I guess, but all the zombies are about the same size... Unless this was a colony of short people, I'm going to assume everyone is regular sized.
Chew chew chew.
Chew chew chew.
Chew chew chew.
It's been a while since we started the new escape plan, and I've discovered something weird. My hive is wrapped around a strange looking crystal in the zombie's chest. It's glowing a bit. It's too big to fit through the ribs, but only by a little. I only noticed it after we chewed through the lungs a bit and the hive dropped about an inch and rolled over. The queen did not like that at all, She went and danced at all the other bees quite vigorously, almost like she was lecturing them. I think maybe she was.
The crystal was only visible from the bottom, I guess the bees built around it. A crystal in the poor corpses chest? Perhaps this was a special organ of people here. I've noticed the organs in these zombies aren't quite the same as human organs. Maybe it's a magic organ or something, and it's why I'm alive. I'd better cover it up just in case.
Magic organs. I'm alive despite not having a body. This world is weird. I' m not sure what's going to happen, but I've got a feeling this is gonna bee one hell of a good time.
I send the delinquents some imagery, a little this and a little that kind of like a mental slide show, and I try to get my point across. I work on getting them to know that the crystal is cool, and they absolutely better not build any nest over it, and immediately they start trying to do the opposite. Thanks delinquents, it's nice to know I can count on you for this. They're not so bad, after all. Maybe I should figure out how to make friends.

The Ascendant: Endless Reincarnation
My name is Richard Brooks. I died while saving a kid. Kicking the bucket at 28 was really depressing, you know? There’s so much I still wanted to do. But instead of passing on, I was thrust into an endless series of reincarnations. Whenever I die, I earn Karma points based on my achievements and growth. These points can be exchanged for weapons, spells, or other bonuses to make my next lives more interesting. “What kills me only makes me stronger!” Or something like that. Honestly, it feels like I’m stuck in an RPG. The difficulty setting can be pretty ridiculous too. Sometimes all I can do is grit my teeth in frustration as I die an ignoble death. But I won’t complain. Even when it’s dangerous and painful, I love life. This is all an opportunity; I’ll do my best, no matter what kind of sadistic fate the System throws at me. I will swing the warhammer of justice! Craft and enhance the most amazing artifacts! Overwhelm opponents with a barrage of auto-casting spells! Lead powerful vassals in Domain wars! All for the sake of creating an eternal sanctuary. With my unique power of Runecrafting, maybe I’ll even become strong enough one day to overturn fate… or at least find out what the hell is really going on. It might take a few hundred or a thousand lifetimes, but what’s the rush? I have all the time in the world now. (Note: R15+ This is the work of a very inexperienced author with a full time job. Please expect an erratic release schedule.)

The Queen's Guard
Friedrich Schreiner is a proud gefreiter of the Queen's Guard, 2nd Company: the finest fighting infantry on the continent (barring the Temple Guard; but please don't bring that up). Service is honourable but, with the Empire on a peacetime footing, terribly boring. Affairs take a dramatic turn for the worse when a mysterious invader uses a forgotten and taboo magical means to breach the capital, plunging the nation into chaos and endangering the royal family. With events spiraling out of control, Friedrich is entrusted with a critical mission. Will hot lead, cold steel, and his determination be enough to see him through? The Queen's Guard is what I'm calling a black powder fantasy story: it's set in a loose equivalent of the early 18th century (plus or minus a few pieces I decided I wanted or didn't want). Magic exists, but not in a spell-slinging sort of way: it's Earth-shaking undertakings or minor enchantments forged in by master craftsmen, the grand working of a secretive cabal or a slight nudge to the course of a blow. I, the eternal optimist, have a full trilogy in mind. The first book is The Prince's Arquebusier, hence the cover and the title disagreeing! This is my shot at 2021's NaNoWriMo and RR Writathon! I've hitherto been terrible at writing long-form fiction, so this is an effort to break out of that by having some accountability in being supposed to post chapters regularly. Here's hoping it works! I have an outline, but not too much detail. I'll do my best to avoid continuity errors, doing anything glaringly stupid, or otherwise fluffing my lines, but I can't make any promises on that. Please do let me know any feedback! Always happy to improve. [participant in the Nov 2021 Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Library of Knowledge - A tale across worlds
This is a story of power and knowledge. El is a mysterious being living in the Library of Knowledge whose only purpose in life is to learn. Connected to many worlds she appears to help all she deems deserving in exchange for knowledge.Stories and knowledge of the past and future from many worlds, the library has it all. The doors to this library are hard to find, but reality is stranger than fiction.-*-*-*-*-Author: It's hard to categorize such novels properly, so I recommend my novel to those who like stories with many elements woven together to form an engaging world where things happen not because the author wills it, but because the story wills it from the author. Even though I have quite a few chapters written already, if they aren't well received I will stop posting them. The content of the story may be mentally traumatizing for some, please read at your own risk.
