《The Divine Path》Chapter 9: The Order of the Warrior

“Hidden… class?”
Blossom and LeeLee sat at the table in a stupor. The two girls already felt like they were blessed to be able to defeat the first rare boss and complete the first hidden quest, now Sora had information regarding hidden classes? Blossom began to think things through and came to the conclusion that Sora must have gotten a hidden class and wanted to share it with the two girls.
“Mister fisherman… I really appreciate your kindness… but I don’t think your hidden class will suit either of us.”
“True, that’s why I’m offering both of you a different one.”
Blossom nearly choked on her food, to already have information regarding a hidden class for each of them seemed impossible, yet when Blossom started thinking of all the things Sora was capable of she finally started to settle down. Blossom leaned in towards Sora while looking around the restaurant.
“Wh-what kind of classes are we talking about here?”
“Well your class would use a greatsword and heavy armor, the skills would be centered around keeping momentum when attacking, and if used correctly would allow you to decimate hordes of enemies without having to stop moving.”
Blossom seemed to have hearts in her eyes as she listened to the class details, it was everything she wanted and more. As Blossom was busy imagining her new class Sora looked towards LeeLee, she was eagerly waiting for Sora to tell her about her class.
“As for your class, it will use double daggers and wear light armor, the skills are centered around stealthy attack and keeping your target debuffed while also slowly killing them with curses, it’s very hard to use but I believe you could do it.”
LeeLee also seemed to have hearts in her eyes, but only for a split second as she quickly pulled herself together. Blossom had also came back to reality once Sora had finished telling LeeLee about her class.
“Alright let’s do it already, I can’t wait any longer!”
“Alright, the plan will be to go over the strategies with you one at a time, the class quests are very difficult so a little mental preparation will be needed. Let’s start with you first Blossom, our starting point will be at the Warrior Order Hall.”
In the Eastern part of the city was an enormous building that spanned for hundreds of meters. The building had a entrance room that was a dome shape with 6 side rooms that represented the 6 base classes of “The Divine Path”. The 6 orders are; The Order of the Warrior, The Order of the Healer, The Order of the Assassin, The order of the Knight, The Order of the Mage, and The Order of the Archer. Each order specialized in a base class and offered class promotions to those who prove themselves worthy to the order. Sora and the two girls walked towards the first hall, which represented The Order of the Warrior. When they entered they were greeted with the sight of a long room adorned with swords, armor, and battle trophies on either wall. At the end of the room was a large man with red hair and scars all over his face and arms. As the trio was heading down the hall Sora started telling Blossom the plan.
“When you accept the quest to become a warrior you will be asked to pick a weapon of choice and then be pulled into a different world. In this different world you will be level 999 and all stats will be at 99999, you will also be geared with Divine equipment, which is the highest rarity in the game.”

Blossom was already itching to do the quest and started to fidget while Sora continued to talk. It can’t be blamed, if anyone heard that they were able to be a god like existence in the game they would surely want to give it a try.
“I know you're excited but you're going to need to focus if you want to be able to get the hidden class.”
Blossom slapped her face to snap her back to focus and looked at Sora with eyes filled with confidence. She may be reckless and energetic but she knew how to focus when she needed to, especially with a hidden class on the line.
“Once you're in the other world you will see the figure of a man clad in armor standing next to you, his name is Valor, God of War and he will start telling you about your quest. You don’t have to listen to him if you don’t want to, he will basically say something along the lines of how your trial is to kill half an army within 30 minutes. If you look around you will see an army marching towards you. All you have to do is rush into that army and kill every single one of them before the time limit is over.”
Sora said it as ‘all you have to do’ but in reality it was hard to do, many new players who were told how to get the class were extremely confident when going into the trial but came out with a sullen expression. Blossom seemed to be fully focused so Sora had high hopes for her, all he could do now is hope she’s able to pull it off.
“Good luck, Blossom.”
“Mhmm, I’ll definitely succeed.”
Blossom had a resolute heart as she approached the warrior instructor, a determined glint could be seen in her eyes.
…..
“Greetings adventurer, have you come to pledge your loyalty to The Order of the Warrior?”
“Yes, please accept my loyalty.”
“Alright, but first we must ask The God of War to test your strength. Please grab ahold of one of the weapons in front of you.”
The warrior instructor stepped aside and revealed a small corridor that lead into a weapons room. Many weapons were stabbed into the floor of the room; Swords, Greatswords, scimitars, katanas, even what seemed to be a large butcher's knife could be found at the side of the room. Blossom walked up to a large sword that had a blade engulfed in black flames. Along the hilt was an inscription of a great war, with one man standing in the middle on top of a pile of corpses. The inscriptions seemed to be alive and Blossom could occasionally hear the roars of battle. Blossom grabbed hold of the hilt and felt a hot aura engulf her.
“You have chosen. Prepare for battle.”
The grisly voice of a man could be heard as she suddenly flashed in a white light and disappeared from the room.
…..
Blossom suddenly found herself on top of a hill, facing a large man clad in impressive looking armor. His name tag could be seen as -Valor, The God of War-
“Welcome adven-”
Before Valor could even greet her, Blossom bolted down the mountain and ran towards what seemed to be an endless army, her eyes filled with the flames of war as she brandished her greatsword. Blossom collided into the sea of people and seemed to be an unstoppable force as she ran in a straight line swinging her greatsword around her, creating a rain of blood. Valor looked at the scene with a large smile and secretly praised Blossom for her unsated killing instinct. To him, this is how a warrior should be, no need for greetings, no need for explanations, just kill anyone in your way.

Blossom continued to plow through the enemies, at first she was a little careful but when she was hit by the sword of one of the army men, the sword shattered on her armor and she was met with a beautiful sight.

Blossom had 99999 constitution, which translates to 999,990 HP. Even if she stood still and let the army attack they wouldn’t be able to kill her within the time limit. If anybody was around they would almost hear what sounded like a beast snapping free from chains that had been holding it down. Blossom became even more crazed as she became a nightmare for the army that surrounded her. 26 minutes later the last man fell and Blossom could be seen standing in a field of corpses, colored crimson from head to toe and panting heavily, trying to catch her breathe. Even Valor was amazed at the killing speed of this girl. Valor suddenly started to laugh as he walked towards Blossom.
“Good, good, good! You have truly exceeded my expectations. I felt as if I was watching a large scale execution rather than a fight. You are destined to be more than a mere warrior, find my shrine located on the top of Mount Valor, if you can pass the test there then I will pass on my legacy to you.”
Blossom smiled cheerfully, not looking like the unstoppable murder machine she truly was, as a white light flashed and she disappeared from the battlefield.
…..
“Mister fisherman, do you think Blossom will be able to do it?”
“Hmmm, I haven’t seen her fight enough to tell you that, but she does seem to be rather skilled. It’s up to her now.”
“Will my task be just as hard?”
“If I were to have to chose if Blossom or you had a harder task then I would probably say you.”
LeeLee suddenly had a worried look on her face, if Sora was already this worried about Blossom then she could only imagine the difficulty of her task. Sora saw how worried LeeLee became and decided to smoothe things over.
“There’s no need to worry LeeLee, although yours is harder it can be tried multiple times. Just do your best and you will surely be able to do it.”
Sora wasn’t just saying things randomly to make LeeLee feel better, he truly thought she could do it. LeeLee showed great potential for her precise analyzing and steady progress. LeeLee felt a weight lift off her shoulders when Sora mentioned that and decided to make sure she lives up to his expectations. At that moment Blossom could be seen running out from behind the instructor with a huge smile on her face. Sora was at a loss for words, it had only been 27 minutes and she already finished the trial, normally people would finish with seconds to spare but Blossom finished with minutes to spare.
“Mister fisherman I did it! It was so fun, can I do it again?”
“Congratulations Blossom, and yes you can do it again.”
“Really?! Can I go now?!”
“Yes really, but this time it will be a bit different and we have to go somewhere else.”
“Oh, that’s right the guy in there mentioned something about Mount Valor.”
“That’s exactly our next destination, it’s not too far away and we can even take a flying service to reach the top.”
“Flying? C-Can’t we just w-walk?”
“It would take hours to reach the top by walking, we still have to get LeeLee her class you know.”
LeeLee suddenly tugged at Sora’s sleeve before whispering into his ear.
“Blossom is afraid of heights, that’s why she wants to walk.”
Sora suddenly understood why Blossom was acting so strange, he really thought someone like Blossom would like the experience of flying. Sora had a backup plan to help Blossom if she really refused to fly.
“Are you sure you don’t want to fly to Mount Valor?”
“Absolutely not, you can’t make me, I’ll never leave the ground!”
“Alright alright, we can just teleport there then.”
The trio entered the dome shaped entrance room and found a lady near the entrance to the Mage hall. Sora and the rest walked up to the lady and Sora took out 5 silver to hand to the lady. This NPC would cast certain spells for players, most people wouldn’t use this NPC because the prices are a little steep but Sora had to do so this time.
“Please cast spell number 13 on this lady here.”
Sora pulled LeeLee back and stepped away from Blossom while wearing a mischievous smile. Spell number 13 is [Sleep] and would last 30 minutes or until damage is applied to the debuffed target.
“Do you accept having spell number 13 cast on you?”
“I accept! Anything to stop from leaving the gr-”
The mage pushed her staff forward and enveloped Blossom in a purple light before she started to fall to the ground. Sora quickly ran up and caught her, carrying her like a princess. It was a little embarrassing but it had to be done, Sora didn’t want to waste time walking all the way up the mountain.
“Let’s go LeeLee.”
“Alright.”
Sora, LeeLee, and the sleeping Blossom drew a lot of attention as they ran through town. After a short run they found a flying service that would carry players from The City of Var to Mount Valor, payed the 10 silver fee per person, and got on top of a giant crow like monster. After roughly 10 minutes of flying a giant mountain with waterfalls streaming down from multiple locations could be seen, the water was crimson colored and all converged into a big lake that looked like a giant pool of blood surrounding the mountain.
[Welcome to Mount Valor]

Tales From the Terran Republic
We tried, you know… We really did. We tried so hard to be… better… We actually were better once. No, seriously. We were enlightened, generous, peaceful… Stop laughing! We were! We were peaceful, dammit! No, I’m not “tugging your winglets.” It’s true! Look, if you’re going to be like that, I’ll just push the launch button right now. See ya, don’t wanna be… Oh, you ARE interested after all? Ok. Hey, I just got word that your captain will be ok. We were able to get him into a med pod quick enough… Of course, we tried to save him. Just what sort of people do you think we are?... Now that was harsh… completely accurate, mind you… but harsh. Anyway, like I was saying, we were a prosperous, peaceful people, and war had been nothing but a distant memory for over five hundred years before it happened... Before Yellowstone happened! You don’t mean to tell me that you didn’t know about that… massive supervolcano? Blew the Hell out of our planet? Two years where nothing grew?… Anyway, that’s what started it, the Sol Wars… Oh, you have heard about those, huh? Well, needless to say, all that enlightened, generous, and peaceful didn’t exactly make it through the two years of complete famine and the wars that followed… Maybe it’s more accurate to say the enlightened, generous, and peaceful among us didn’t survive… (laughs)… You’re right. It does explain a lot, doesn’t it? Probably for the best, though. “Enlightened” and “peaceful” aren’t really all that useful out here in the galaxy at large, are they? That reminds me; thanks for the ship. You guys did a great job with this one. Oh, don’t be like that. At least it was us what got you and not one of the really messed groups like the Harlequin or the Black Angels. We’re just going to take your shit. It could be worse… trust me... Well, anyway, we loaded the life pods down with some good food, and you guys can drink alcohol, right? We put in a couple of fifths in there, too. It’s about forty percent ethanol, so be warned. Most species will want to dilute that. We’ll drop your wounded off somewhere safe once they are stable. Your fleet patrols this area fairly regularly, and we’ll drop the distress beacon right before we jump… Well, It’s been fun and no hard feelings, right?… Oh, you want to know some more? Sure. I got time to kill… Let me tell you about this one pirate and her crew. They’re Terran scum, but they are still… Why do we hate the Terrans? Hoo Boy… How much time you got? *** It’s the thirty-second century, and humanity is now part of a galactic civilization comprised of hundreds of worlds. Humanity has been savaged by natural disaster and war and has been fractured into several separate populations, all of which loathe each other (some things never change). This is a gritty drama-driven rambling tale that swings between action, drama, horror, and plenty of very, very dark comedy. Warning: contains adult situations, absolutely horrible language, bathroom humor, implied ultra-violence, actual ultra-violence, drugs, alcohol, pirates, mercs, xeno prostitutes, moral ambiguity, deranged AI's with identity issues, giant commie space slugs, and a poor little frog girl who just wants to sell coffee. Updates twice weekly on Tuesday and Friday. *** Note: This story can get rough. Those warning tags? They aren't for show. I recently received a review and as a result I want to make one thing clear. Portraying something is NOT endorsing it! Many "heavy" topics are touched upon and just because a character says or does something does not imply that the author feels the same way. I selected the "Anti-Hero Lead" and "Villainous Lead" tags for a reason. Rule number one of this story is "no good guys". A good description of the story is, "bad people doing bad things to worse people". There are a few good characters, here and there, but they are the exception to the rule. If you want a hard-hitting, exciting, gritty sci-fi story that doesn't pull any punches, or shies away from "difficult" concepts, welcome! If you are set on a pure and noble knight that runs around and slays conveniently evil monsters and rescues totally innocent princesses... or your sensibilities are easily offended... You're not going to be happy with this one.
