Everything was fuzzy. Always fuzzy. No concrete memory or ability to drag myself from the muck that suffused my being.
Crunch
With stars in my eyes, I stare blankly ahead, my head exploding with pain, and warm red liquid flooding into my eyes a moment later. Everything spinning. But it's there, the world around me seems to exist for the first time. Or maybe I exist for the first time. It doesn't even matter that I have no ability to comprehend the events which are unfolding around me. I actually exist.
This was my very first memory, which I made at the age of three, then promptly forgot because I was three years old and had suffered a major head injury. I learned later that a heavy weapon had been accidentally thrown during a sparring match, hitting me directly in the forehead.
And, that I have been broken ever since.
