《Magnus》Book Two: Afterword & BIG (Publishing) Announcements

Afterword
Phew! We're finally at the end of the second book! It's unreal that there are so many of you reading this story now! In this book, we took a bit of a different turn as compared with book one. Given the events that happened in the first book, and given what they were up against, most of the plot events of this book kinda fell in place automatically; MC's situation drove his actions in (what I hope) ended up being a plausible way. We also shifted a bit from Fantasy more back to science fiction here, which I honestly fretted over for a long time. RR really loves fantasy, but I hope I've accomplished something that balances the two genres here.
Quick note: I'm going to be going back and adding a scene with Xikanika back when the girls stay overnight at her castle in order to build out Nova's and Xika's friendship as well as showcase Xikanika's calculating side. She'll show her concern for Nova and her guilt over giving her up to the Legatus, but she'll also ask probing questions into the Resistance, which Nova will not answer. Hoping to give some foundation to her character to set up to the later events in the book.
Book Three Announcements
As for what's next? Book three is titled Prime War and it's quite frankly insane. It's definitely the craziest book of the trilogy and SO much happens. Tons of twists and turns that I bet none of you will have seen coming. As of right now, I have 56 out of 59 chapters of book three written. That's actually very behind schedule - I haven't even begun editing the book yet. So, I'm gonna need a bit more time with this one. The good news is that I no longer need a buffer to write the next book since book three is the final installment in the Magnus trilogy.

That said, I'm budgeting 29 days for editing. Regardless of where I'm at, I'll start serializing the book at its normal pace on day 30. HOWEVER! When I finish editing the last chapter, chapter releases will accelerate to once a day until the book is finished! Woohoo!! More Magnus, coming to a Royal Road near you!
And that brings me to my final, biggest announcement.
Publishing Announcement
It's hard to imagine, but I've now spent thousands of hours of my life on this series. When I started this journey all the way back in 2018, I never thought it'd become what it has today, and none of it would've been possible without you, my readers, and your epic comments and support! So it is with great joy that I bring you this announcement.
The publisher Aethon Books has picked up the Magnus trilogy! The story will be receiving paperback, e-book, and audiobook editions, and all three books will be receiving professional editing and brand new covers.
In fact, book one has already been edited, and the cover is done and it is EPIC!! Sadly, my publisher doesn't want me to share that until we go live with the books, but rest assured, I'll paste it as soon as I can!
What does this mean for you?
Not a whole lot for current readers, actually. When I signed the contract, I made sure they would be cool with me posting the entire story on RR before publishing. That said, I will have to take the story down from this site as the books release, starting with book one, which will publish in a few months. Then book two will be taken down a couple of months later, finally followed by book three - probably towards the end of this year. We'll have long finished serializing by then. I'm going to update the synopsis to mention that the story is going to be taken down, so if any of your friends have been meaning to read Magnus, now's the time!!

So, with that all said, I am once again asking you for your support! But seriously, when the book sales do open, I would be eternally grateful if you'd consider purchasing a copy, and leaving a rating or a review on amazon! I've never once opened a patreon for this story, nor have I asked for money, and your purchases and reviews will greatly help the book become more prominent on the site. The more people who see it, the more sales I'll get. So let's spread Magnus to as much of the world as we can!! I think amazon even lets you review if you haven't bought the book, so just that would help a ton as well!
Alright, so that's it for my plea/beg! I'll post progress updates in the author note above this chapter as I make my way through editing. It's been an epic journey writing Magnus and bringing it to all of you thus far, and I'm incredibly excited to see where book three takes us. I shall see you all in exactly one month. Until then! Kick ass and chew bubblegumjust kick more ass!
PS: I need ideas for book three's chapter graphic icon. I realize that's hard without knowing the contents of the book, but feel free to throw out your ideas(along with how it evolves. cUz It'S gOtTA eVoLvE)

A World Forgotten
***This story will contain lite-litrpg elements, mainly character pages and a town page. There will also be settlement building and adventuring, missteps and achievements. But one thing it definitely won’t have is a harem. Nor will it have an overpowered MC. Contains mild cursing.*** ***feel free to critique my writing and offer input. This is my first venture into writing. I've always enjoyed litrpg/gamelit books. I feel like I write how I talk, so it may be a little different. You won't hurt my feelings if you see something wrong or out of place! *** ***What follows is a condensed part of chapter 1. Enjoy!*** Drew Cooper is thrust into a new, unfamiliar world. Waking up in his sweats and t-shirt near what seems to be a forgotten path through some woods, he struggles coming to terms that he's no longer in his apartment. As he tries to cope with his new reality, he hears a horse coming down the path. He hides behind a nearby tree dreading what may happen next. As the horse approaches, he sees a man walking next to it. The horse is burdened with packs and gear. When the man nears, Drew nearly panics. He has a large sword strapped to his waist, obviously a fighter. He continues to hide as the man slowly passes only for the man to stop a dozen meters past his hiding spot. "You may as well come out, ya know. You weren't as well hidden as you thought," the man stated matter-of-factly, letting the horse’s reins go and putting his hand on the hilt of his sword. Slowly and scared for his life, Drew raised up and walked from behind the tree. "I-I'm sorry. I wasn't planning on attacking you. I-I don't know where I am. I heard your horse and hid. I didn't know what you'd do if you saw me. I'm sorry," he nervously blurted out. A minute passed. Then two. The man seemed interested with Drew and stepped closer, eyes squinting as if trying to see something. "What's that on your shirt? Is that. What is that? Is that, Pac-man?" The man was visibly shaken while pointing at me. Looking down at his t-shirt nervously, "Yea. Yea. I woke up here a few hours ago I think. 3 maybe 4 hours. I’ve just been sitting here. Where am I? What's going on?" Drew asked. "That's not important right now," the man replied. " What's important is where you're from. What year is it?" "What year? April something 2020. Why? What's going on?" Drew continued now worried. The man was taken aback. After a few moments, he seemed to calm himself some. The man sighed and looked at Drew in earnest. "Well, I've got good news and bad news for ya. Bad news is you're not on Earth anymore. Good news is you happened to run into me and not someone else. You’re either really lucky, or it’s fate we met in these woods, and I don’t believe in luck." The man continued to walk towards Drew while talking and put out his hand. "I'm John Mitchell from St. Louis or thereabouts. You’ve got nothing to be scared of by me. Walk with me and let’s talk."
