Hey all,

I noticed with this fiction that I unconsciously did something a bit different to my other works. I made chapters and did not name them. In all my other works I always gave a chapter a name. I've seen books woith both styles but i was wondering how people actually felt about them. For me it almost became a way to set the tone for the chapter to come, but with longer works this can become a real hassle, even to the point where you are making up anything to slot in there. For a 40 chapter novel its no so bad, but when you get into the hundreds it starts to become much.

But, am I missing something by doing this? So let me know how you feel in the poll below. How do you feel about chapter names? Do you like them and feel it sets the tone and gives you something to look forward to? Or do they pre-empt the chapter and are more of a distraction and a form of telling?
