We were running like crazy for at least ten minutes and were able to lose some of the weakest evolved beats but those at level 2 and more didn't give up, but with so many different types of beasts chasing us the fight among them also buy us some time to distance more.

I looked at everyone they were focus to run, not daring to turn their head, their body now soak in blood and wound all and bites which were now smelling and it seemed was starting to get infected and I was in the same state, those insects weren't hard to kill the only dangerous things about them was their forearms that were as sharp as our sword but and their mouth full of teeth like a snake that reaped some of our skin and that now was slowly making our wound bleed non stop, with their hardback and torso that we had to aim for the parts that weren't covered by their shell to be able to injure them seriously.

Now it seemed we were in a commercial district with a huge square at the middle of the road with a statue at the center and with a huge building having at its entrance the brands of big corporations of clothes and other necessities we could need and different buildings with a shop next to each other and bus stations that were near the three roads that led to another part of the city, the street here is larger it was easier for those beasts of two-meter following us compared with the street of the living district with smaller street and alley, so running wasn't a good idea anymore.

" What the plan now we can't run forever we have to fight them"

Philip in front with his son in his arms asked he almost used all the energy he has in his body for running and if they had to fight this group chasing them they better fight a good place to defend or else he don't see how they will gain in their current states.

I just nodded not sure what to say, I had to fight in the front all the time and Edward and Lisa not fully healed they had to stay behind and support me and hector, and with Alex and john coming front we were able to fight normally and come to alive from the last fight.

I sighed and looked around exhausted and pointed toward the mall, and said

Seeing that I pointed to the mall, they all started to run toward the mall, and when I turned my head I saw that for the level fours there were two dogs, one cat that looked more like a tiger, four boars, and two insects a cockroach but with too many limbs making him walk like a walking train and a beetle as huge as a truck with his shell shinning on the sunlight, the last one was a Damn Serpent of three-meter, he was behind the group eating some level two beasts like if it was some snacks making the other level four beast roar at him angrily at him for eating there kind, but they still didn't do something else and since even if he was a level four I felt the same pressure of a level 5 coming from him but it didn't change much that we will have to kill all of them.

The city center really is really too dangerous and now I understand why but it's too late to regret it.

when we entered the mall we directly went upstairs the level fours staying outside staring at us and roared at the level three beasts and the remaining level two making them charge at us destroying the door easily since it was just made of glasses.

" Sarah can you heal Edward and Lisa we really need them now "

I asked her because if we had to fight head-on whiteout the both of them we will be too exhausted to even think to escape the level four waiting outside

"I can heal them but after that, I wouldn't be able to cast any spell for two hours "

she said to me her face full of worries, she knows she will have to fight in front with her no more being able to use her skill.

" don't worry you will stay behind them I will fight in front with hector Alex and john, Fred you stay behind protect Emily and Sarah we can't lose them, Philip you will stay with Edward and Lisa, Eillen stay with them too and protect your kid, We will use all this mall to fight those evolved beasts to stop their movement "

I said with all the might I could muster making the others less stressed, we entered one of the open shops and quickly placed the furniture we found at the entrance and it's at this time that levels three and the rest of levels two came destroying anything in their path the once beautiful mall slowly being rampage by them, the silent mall suddenly was filled with different beasts charging at us using the staircase but their huge body could only take two or three of them the rest had to push those in front of them, but what we didn't know was that there were some people in this mall and those beasts slowly started to attack them making them disperse but the most of the level three were still coming at us.

- " You bastard we were surviving without any problem before you came with those beasts "

we could hear people swearing at us but I didn't have time to feel sorry for what we might have done or not, we might die too and they should have heard the noise of the incoming group of beasts and us running from them but didn't try to leave.

I shouted my voice reasoning in the mall now filled with evolved beasts not sure if they could even hear me it was all I could do the rest was in their hand.

When I said my last sentence, one of the beasts was charging at the entrance and destroyed easily the small barricade we made but at the same time it makes him lose his balance from the charge and it was a huge cockroach of human size.

Before he could stand up Alex with her hammer crushed his head to the ground letting small cracks around but he was still alive letting out an annoying sound from his mouth using his two buccal part and Alex finished him with two more blows, his brain all over the floor but we didn't rejoice for it more were coming.

I advanced hector next to me two-level three dogs, we already started to understand their attack pattern by now and coopering together we stepped aside attacking their side and before they could retaliate reward and Lisa finished them piercing their eyes destroying their brain or just slashing their head in half.

and it went like that for one or two minutes making the bodies almost blocking our view at the entrance stopping them to enter as easily as before but some kept pushing the bodies to try to enter but was quickly killed, but it seemed the other beasts understood it and started entering the shop next to the one we were in and destroyed the showcases, we could hear glasses being broken, while they started to attack the walls of those shop to enter, making this part of the mall tremble like if there was an earthquake.

" Ok time to go out, we stay close they are waiting for us be careful....."

I said to them and started advance and push some of the corpse lying at the entrance but I was stopped by Edward that grabbed my shoulder

- " Chris wait are you sure it a good idea even if they attack us from both sides they still can't all enter at the same time and with the corpse at the entrance they are limited if we go outside now we only let them the chance to attack us without letting us the time to rest here at least we can control their number for some time... "

he seemed worried about this plan, but I looked at the others and it was the same too, but before he could continue we heard noises coming from inside the shop followed by numerous growl and howl followed by ten or so insect, and the one I could recognize was a centipede and it was so long that he almost filled all the place and each time he advances with his legs the shop tremble and with the other insects, the others beasts were just behind him.

I said but no one answered, I could feel their anxiety, they were grasping their weapons tightly to at least try to feel safer, even I wasn't sure if we could make it but we had to try.

I still have enough energy left to fight but I decided to keep it for later I could still fight with my body strength, my short sword mastery was slowly proving useful and with hector next to me we could handle ten or so level three, the beasts attacking from the entrance stopped to attack and the insect and the huge centipede started to charge us making the scene was hard to describe I grabbed my sword tightly.

the centipede was almost here his body pushing aside our destroying anything in his path, but at the same time, his huge size his movements are limited but so are our too, when he was not far from us I charged at him for at least try to stop his race.

The others behind didn't wait for his order, advancing with him what followed was Chris and hector fighting the centipede he was really strong but his strength being restrained by the space they were able to kill him after the two of them having one of their shoulder and leg pierced when the centipede went berserk and they didn't have the time to retreat and were trampled by his body.

The others seeing their situation, forced their way through the insects and some dogs attacking them, and with Edward and Lisa who took most of the attack claire and Alex with Fred and john finished the work striking and slashing at any living beasts that still moved while they advanced, killing anything that blocked them, the floor now almost hard to walk with all those corpses of beasts and insects.

But they quickly found out why when they heard a loud explosion coming from outside, and the remaining beasts downstairs screaming while running out of the mall not caring if they trample on one of their kind and the mall that was still able to support them, one of the pillars at the entrance collapsed making the entrance dome to completely collapse and the mall trembling lifting dust but the shop where we are except trembling a little seemed fine.

So we went to the entrance of the shop pushing aside the corpses of the evolved beasts when Emily asked us

" what is happening is it another group of beasts again "

Her body now covered with huge gashes she couldn't stop but shiver she was starting slowly to adapt to the pain but I could see how the vein on her neck telling me she was doing her best to not scream, her leather armor no more visible maybe it fell somewhere during the fight from her body and her clothing almost completely destroyed, that we could see her wounded skin but we were all in the same state, except the kid who was covered in blood and trembling.

Lisa said to us helping Emily she was in a better state than us with Edward although we could see blue bruises all over her arm and body and serious wound on her leg and shoulder, everyone quickly understood what she meant, started to search for energy core, our body still in pain but we endured it as much as we could.

Alex said and with that, we started to advance for the inner mall, all the shop in our way was either completely destroyed with articles on the floor at the entrance our just no still open with their blind close.

the sound of the fight was now slowly subsiding but we didn't try to go check for now we needed to rest and level up maybe we could go back and take the remaining energy cores if the body isn't eaten by other beasts.

we quickly found the stair for the underground parking near the back exit of the mall that was still closed either by someone after the change there was no light, only the light of the emergency lightening the stair.

We arrived at the underground path now breathing heavily our wound was too bad that even this small walk in the mall exhausted us so fast.
