《Reaper of Cantrips》Chapter 18: Pan’s Plan Round Two
Advertisement
Beneath Pan’s pillow, an alarm beeped. She came awake, reached her hand under her head, and found the alarm where only she would hear it. Pan shut it off. She laid for a second. Her eyes drooped. Then, she hopped out of bed and got dressed. She took her spray paint and left the Complex.
Pan traveled the night in a haze. She felt like a dreamer, moving a foreign body, a person that belonged to someone else.
At the late hour, only twinkling festival lights remained on. No one drove the streets. No one walked, and no spirits roamed. Pan passed a couple of houses with lights. Inside, she spied insomniacs watching late night television or standing around the kitchen wondering what they were doing with their lives. Pan wondered the same.
She arrived at the Solmart. The box shaped building stretched up and across, looking simple yet gargantuan. Solmart sold everything and had a store in each major city. It wanted to open stores in the country where the majority of the population lived, but no one would let it. Politicians had to keep as many Scaldin lives out of Solmart’s grasp as they could. Pan didn’t mind Solmart. Sure, it had mediocre art supplies, but it also had weird things that no one else sold, like glue filled with glitter and slime. Back when Pan had the time to get bored, Solmart was good for some afternoon fun. Now that she found herself unbelievably busy, Solmart would be just right for her graffiti.
Pan shook her can of spray paint. She needed this message to spur the murderer into action, but she couldn’t just write come find me. Goodness knew they already strived for such an outcome. She needed to get the murder’s attention, not everyone else’s.
Pan blinked weary eyes. She shook the can one more time. The can hissed its color onto Solmart’s concrete exterior, and Pan wrote the message: I am a reaper, but who has taken the others? Underneath that, she added: FEAR HER.

Pan took a chance. She guessed the murderer was a she. Celin encountered a woman, so Pan knew at least one reaper died at a woman’s hand. Now, the murderer would think Pan knew something – if the murderer proved to a be a woman. If the murderers happened to be a bunch of old arcanes in some retirement home, they might start laughing their heads off, wondering just how clueless these new young arcanes could be.
Pan shook her head. She needed sleep. She needed to get home. She took one last look at the Solmart, turned, and ran. She ran past the insomniacs. Some had found sleep. Others continued in the same activities. Pan ran through the spiritless streets. She passed the quiet houses where every vehicle and every person rested. She ran past the twinkling lights that heralded springtime. Like a dreamer, Pan climbed the steps to the Arcane’s Complex. She trotted to her room, laid down, and slept.

Broken Skulls, a Skeleton's Tale
Summoned as a Skeleton with no name, and unable to remember who he was. On the second floor of a dungeon in the heart of a city, with adventurers all seeking fortune and glory in its depths. No weapons. No Armor. No name. Only the grim determination to stay alive... At all costs. ---------------------------- Author's Note: This is the first story I've attempted writing in roughly seven years. While my writing style may be a bit rusty, I hope to be able to provide nothing more than a good book to sit down and read for awhile. P.S. I might not be able to be consistent with updates to the story, but I'll do my best! I hope you enjoy! ---------------------------- Cover art done by ShayeSoForgetful.

The Alien's Retaliation
The novel takes place in an alternate universe that is brimming with life. There are a lot of planets were life has greatly developed, as many civilizations were born. Fearsome aliens and strange creatures inhabit the space, and at the same time wars and conflicts are not such a rare sight. On a remote planet, ignorant of everything, Xeno is living a hard and monotonous life, waiting for time to make its course. However once again the mysteries of the universe will present before his eyes, changing his life completely. Follow Xeno on a long journey through the vast space, as he will seek the strength and knowledge necessary to uncover the secrets of his new gained origins. The narration has been changed to third person from chapter 24. However there will still be POV changes every so often. This is an original work and at the same time my first novel, as such constructive criticism is welcomed. English is not my first language too, feel free to point out any mistakes you may find. WARNING: The novel will have elements of gore, violence and some pretty strong scenes. I have posted this novel on WebNovel too. There I have put a brief comment about what to expect from the novel in more detail, if you are still uncertain, you might want to check it out. Dauntless: Origins
Snow white hair, blue eyes, pale. Devil, monster, mutt, failure. This story follows one Tyr Faeron, crown prince, heir primus and mass murderer. A wrathful, angry, and lost young man that has made it his goal to hunt down the men that killed his mother - and he is on the cusp of finishing the promise he'd made before her cairn stones so many years ago. On the surface he is duplicitous, whimsical, and base of cunning - but within the depths beyond the many masks he wears, something is waiting. Waiting for an end, the end he'd come to long for, whether it be to himself or any possible threats in his vicinity. After that long labor of vengeance is completed... Nobody knows, not even him - an arrogant and otherwise solitary individual with nothing in the way of friends - only the brothers of the blackguard who follow him through life as he pursues this mission. He was born a prince, but he'd be called a disappointment - failing to manifest the great power that he was born to before being summarily discarded by his father, a 250 year old 'primus'. That word again... Men who can shatter mountains and level cities, that's what he was supposed to be. Some call them demi-gods, all Tyr sees is a poor excuse for a parent. Time had made him bitter, cruel, and arguably psychotic - seeing only enemies wherever he looks. They'd come for him, too, one day - to wipe the slate clean and make room for another - and it's his conviction to ensure that he dies while taking as many of those rats with him. This is a story about finding acceptance, growth, and understanding - from the point of view of a cold and brutal individual who wears many masks. Of someone who was born to be the greatest emperor the eastern continent has ever seen - but he failed in that. Strong, yes, but only in the context of a man - Tyr's magic is weak. His convictions are weak. He has been made a beast of instinct by loss and a constant confronting of his own impotency in the face of his father. A mythos that stretches across planes, of magic, a pantheon of cruel gods. Of someone who's dedicated his entire mind to the art of killing a man, and none to living a normal childhood or coming to understand friendship, empathy, or compassion. The first five years of his life a mystery, a hole none have ever been willing to fill, leaving him warped and twisted. His formative years gone and what must've been most of his humanity along with it. Now 17, he is on the cusp of leaving the city he'd never been permitted to leave for what might be the first time in his life. Always searching, though he won't know what for, for some time. An episodic that follows experience and symbolism rather than a never ending series of battles - where the conflict lay in constantly searching for wholeness in lieu of great villains or heroes. This is where it all started, the origin, the tale told a million times - and yet it hadn't been, 'reality' is tricky like that. The greatest lie ever told by the tongue that speaks is that any of this was real at all.
