《Working at an Isekai Office While Terrible Things Happen》[ARC 2] Chapter 22 - The Golden Hand is Badass

The Transportation Department’s office was not in the main headquarters like Dalton had thought. It was in the warehouse next to where Dalton dueled at.
Unlike their office though, the Transportation Department was loaded. Their warehouse was clean, and overly luxurious. The warehouse had a mega bar, standing desks, a gym, a playroom with the latest games, a tennis court, basketball court, a baseball field, and even a giant two-story fountain of a golden Nikolai standing with his fist raised up as water came out of his mouth.
“Maybe I should work for the Transportation Department.” Dalton murmured.
“You burned that bridge when you killed their best dueler,” Malcolm said. He didn’t look happy being here. “Come on. His office is up the stairs.”
As they went up the stairs, Dalton furrowed his brows and looked up at Malcolm. “Are the steps made out of gold?”
“Yes.”
“How does the Transportation Department have so much money?” Dalton asked.
“Well, Dalton. They are assassins that take contracts to dispose of trash. Like the guy that wanted to turn into a hot spring. His parents happened to find a website that hired them,” Malcolm said in disgust.
“Wait?” He turned to Ozul. “Ozul, you were telling the truth? I thought you were lying.”
“You literally saw me paying one of them to kill that CEO right? I literally told you the truth.” Ozul spat.
“To be fair, I don’t really like you.”
“The feeling is mutual.” Ozul flipped him off. “I hope the goblins feast upon your untainted virgin ass.”
“If you get caught by the goblins, I’ll leave you.” Dalton openly declared.
“Now, now, gentlemen. We are a co-workers, we need to work together,” Malcolm said in a calm tone.

The two looked at each other. “So, you’re going to use us as a meat shield.”
“No doubt.” Ozul nodded.
“I would never.” His face twisted like he smelled vinegar.
Right on the target.
Malcolm knocked on the office door. He opened the door, and waved them to come in.
Nikolai sat on a giant golden throne that looked incredibly uncomfortable. There was no cushion and it looked pointy and oddly angled. Yet, he sat there, overlooking them like a king ready to declare an execution.
“Well, hello Malcolm, Dalton, and…” He just gave Ozul an empty gaze. “Who the fuck is that?”
“Ozul.” Ozul kneeled, hand against his breast. “It’s a pleasure to meet the great Nikolai, the man that made the Transportation Department what it is today.”
“Shut the fuck up! I have no love for brown nosing bastards like you!” Nikolai raged. His bloodshot eyes glared at Dalton and Malcolm. “I’m sure you noticed that there is something different about me.”
“A new haircut.” Malcolm pretended innocently.
“Is it that golden hand?” Dalton said.
“A smartass answer, and a direct one.” His lips curled into that of a growl. “Yes, Dalton. I lost my fucking arm! Potions wouldn’t heal it! Your piece of shit boss hit me with a cursed bullet!”
His hand slammed the armrest, breaking it.
“I don’t know Nikolai. I didn’t have a cursed bullet in Sebastian, but I gotta say, you look much more badass with that golden arm.” Malcolm rubbed his beard.
“It’s not baddass!”
Out of breath, he straightened his suit and cleared his throat.
“It doesn’t matter. All three of you will kill the Goblin King in the warehouse next to here.”
Dalton raised his hand. “Why is there a goblin nest in the warehouse next door?”

“This is no school! And the reason why is because we wanted to breed fighting goblins, but that plan went to shit when the guy responsible for raising those goblins unfortunately never came back.” Nikolai leaned back. “I hope that happens to all three of you. It would make me so happy if it did.”
He wasn’t even hiding his contempt.
“So, I just want to make sure. You will return the quality of candidates we used to get, and you will bury the hatchet about losing an arm if we get rid of the goblin nest?” Dalton said.
“Yes, yes. I already signed a binding contract with Eira. That bitch sure knows how to press on you like a bug.” Nikolai seemed unhappy.
“She sure does.” Malcolm nodded in agreement.
“Well then, hurry up and get rid of the goblins.” Nikolai shooed them away. “I’m tired of seeing your ugly mugs. I hope you make good holes for those horny goblins!”
