During the great war, the magicless humans were nothing more than fodder, meat shields. Until one day, their powers awakened. After the war, with the ability to now wield, fire, water, earth, wind, or lightning, powerful magicians gathered to build a safe haven for humans, the Kaldora Empire. Before the humans had magic, other races prospered with it. But, within their midst, there were... oddities. People with an affinity for two elements. Each one leaving some sort of disaster in their wake. Each one, not quite fit for this world. A young boy's family, killed in an accident, only he and his sister survived the night. After that, they were split up, each taken in by a different relative. It has been eight years since the flames engulfed his home and most of his family. With his magic powers finally showing itself, he goes off to a magic academy to better learn about his newfound powers. But as he grows, something else does as well. The voice inside his head, the thing that influences his thoughts, the monster that he wish was gone, the devil inside his heart. This is a tale about connections. NOTE: The story will be slow for many of the chapters and the time will also match it, ex: goes by day by day. The time mostly will be used for introducing and adding to characters. A solar system consisting of five planets, all with life, all stuck in conflict, and all absolutely bursting with energy. For some it seems like a paradise. A land of sword and sorcery? Why would anyone pass that up? That was the thought process of the freshly dead boy. This boy, like many before him and many after him, was trying to find the bright side. Things had finally been going right for him, good grades, new friends, and best of all a girlfriend when the entire world ended. No huff, no puff, just poof the end. At least being reborn into this world would be fun. That definitely sounded like a bright side to most. Fracture, one of the five worlds in question, was massive and full of magic. It looked sounded and felt like it would be just another game, it even had prompts and levels. Piece of cake. Well that might be the case if Fracture was meant to be a paradise. The hottest fires forge the strongest swords. This fire has the habit of melting away oneself. A pixie clan searching for a new home, a boy who just lost his, a reality bending forest, and a bug that doesn't belong. All with an intense desire for power. Is he going to finally have the comfortable life he wanted? Will he laze away relying on his past life's knowledge or does he want more this time? Will his ambition and hard work lead to sweet fruits, or will it rot away in the darkness hiding beneath the colorful costumes of the hero's society? Now with crossovers! Be warned if you don't like to see OCs messing up the timeline or DC and other stuff showing up. I swear I'm not randomly adding stuff and there is a legitimate (as far as comic books and fanfics can be) plot reason why. (I'll be honest, I don't know "cannon" marvel really...
