Mermaid Arc Chapter 8. Demonlise's loyalty.
Nari approaches Demonlise with the intent to take away the Mermaids by force if needed.
“State your name and business” Demonlise points a sword at Nari filled with determination to defend the Mermaids who are standing behind him.
“I am Nari del Bevero a god of trickery and under the command of Reimon I will be taking Queen Limeneria with me” Nari introduced herself and also stated her reason for being here, just as Valoran predicted they were after the queen of Mermaids.
“My master has ordered me to protect them no matter the cost, I will not allow you to approach them.” Demonlise stands firm and carries out his duty wholeheartedly.
“Your master is a mere Magic King, he stands no chance against the one I serve, your master's orders are meaningless” Nari mocks Valoran trying to enrage Demonlise.
“My master is the most powerful being in existence, his words are absolute.” Demonlise is replying coldly, maintaining his composure at the obvious provocation attempts.
“You are no fun well I guess this conversation leads nowhere” Nari pulls out a hat from a subspace.
“Will you be alright?” Limeneria is asking Demonlise out of concern, she feels bad for putting him at risk for her sake.
“I will be fine, you should take your leave to hide” Demonlise reassures that everything will be alright.
The Mermaids leave the throne room out of a hidden door Valoran created earlier.
Limeneria looks back at Demonlise holding on to the door frame. “Please be careful,” She says with deep regret in her voice.
She leaves through the door with the other two mermaids leaving Demonlise and Nari alone in the throne room.
“Why do you protect them? It's only a matter of time before they are caught by me.” Nari asks with a mocking tone.
“I protect them not only because my master has asked me to, but because I believe that it is the right thing to do.” Demonlise shares a very similar ideology in that the strong should always protect the weaker ones.

“I see, well we don't have all day it's time I destroy you and then catch the queen.” Nari readies her hat and her eyes begin to glow.
Out of the hat, she pulls out a massive sword and lunges at Demonlise.
Demonlise catches the blade and throws it back with great speed behind it.
Nari with a hand holds her hat in front and the sword disappears inside it.
Nari snaps her fingers… In an instant, hundreds of hats surround Demonlise from every angle.
“Nice trick.” Demonlise remarks with a smirk.
“Well, I am a God of trickery after all.” Streams of flames shoot directly at Demonlise from these hats.
Flames engulf Demonlise melting the surrounding concrete walls.
“Can't take the heat?” Nari questions with a smile. She believes that this is enough to defeat Demonlise.
If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
Demonlise who is unscathed emerges from the flames.
“You need to do better than that,” Demonlise says.
Demonlise casts icos (cryo magic) the flames are frozen instantly.
Demonlise moves at great speed toward Nari with a sword in hand.
Demonlise strikes at her with a quick strike but misses.
“You are a quick one.” Nari jumps high up levitating in the air, behind her a magic circle appears.
Nari gets struck with red lighting, the circle behind her is a blaze (lighting magic) circle cast by Demonlise.
“AHHHH!” Nari screams in pain, the lighting was powerful enough to cause her a great deal of pain.
Nari lands on the ground.
“I felt that it's been a while since I last felt this much pain!” Nari clenches her teeth in pain and with an angered face stares at Demonlise.
Demonlise offers no reply, only staring at her like a hawk to await her next move.
Nari stretches out her arm with an open hand.
A beam of destructive divine power at Demonlise.
Demonlise gets hit with the blast pushing him against the wall behind him causing the wall to shatter on impact.

Demonlise falls to the ground….
“I see you are not dead…Yet.” Nari remarks looking down at him.
“You will pay for causing damage inside my master's castle.” Demonlise gets back on his feet wiping off the debris off his shoulders.
Nari pulls out another hat, and countless bunny rabbits with red eyes and sharp teeth approach Demonlise.
“Enjoy playing with my pets,” Nari orders the bunny rabbits to attack Demonlise.
Demonlise with his sword cuts hundreds of them down in a second.
“Ohh I forgot to mention, the moment one of them is destroyed two more will take its place.” Nari is showing why she is a God of trickery.
The bunny rabbits attack Demonlise and bite into him.
“Hmm, it seems that the rabbits are unable to penetrate your skin.” Nari strokes her chin while saying so.
“Let's try this then.” Nari snaps her fingers and in an instant, the bunnies begin to swell up and explode.
BOOOM!
BOOOM!
BOOOM!
Countless explosions fill the throne room.
The smoke is fading away revealing Demonlise with bits of his clothes being destroyed.
Demonlise casts irum (teleportation magic) and teleports behind her.
At an instant, he appears behind her thrusting his sword into her back.
“Hahaha!” Nari breaks out laughing.
“What's this?” Demonlise is confused as Nari's body begins to turn into cards.
“Did you believe that this could defeat me?” Nari appears above him.
Demonlise casts the spell Lorian (wind magic) blowing the cards away.
“It's time to end this magic show,” Demonlise says.
Demonlise pulls out the sword Zinox, the dark sword with immense power.
Demonlise strikes his sword at Nari….
“AHHHH!” Nari cries out in pain again as the blade cuts deep into her shoulder.
“What kind of sword is this?” Nari asks in pain holding onto her injured arm.
“Why is my wound not regenerating?” Nari is asking in fear and pain.
“My sword negates any form of regeneration including those of the Gods,” Demonlise says holding his sword.
“Impossible, why do you possess such a weapon?” Nari asks in shock.
“It was my master who helped me construct it. I wield it to defeat the likes of you.” Demonlise points the sword at Nari with the intent to kill her.
Nari’s wound gets more and more painful.
“I will retreat, for now, I have severely underestimated you…when I face you again I won't make that mistake.” Nari vanishes into thin air.
Demonlise looks at the sword as it begins to vanish.
Demonlise looking at the state of the throne room has only one thing to say, “What a mess.”
Limeneria and the other Mermaids walk into the throne room sensing that the danger is gone.
They see Demonlise with his torn clothes.
“Are you alright?” Limeneria runs up to him in concern checking for any injuries.
“No need to worry, I am unharmed…the same can't be said for my clothes,” Demonlise says with a tiny portion of sadness since it was Valoran who gave him these clothes.
“You did a great job, my friend,” Valoran calls out from behind.
Demonlise kneels in front of his master.
“I'm sorry my lord, I failed to prevent the destruction of the throne room.” Demonlise hangs his head in shame.
“Please stand, there is no need to apologise, you carried out your duty perfectly just as I suspected you would.” Valoran praises him.
Demonlise stands up.
Valoran casts restor (restoration magic) the throne room is restored to its peak condition.
“Now that's done we have important matters to discuss.” Valoran looks at the Mermaids with worry.
Queen Limeneria and the other Mermaids are anxious to know what Valoran has to discuss with them since he met with Reimon.
“I have come to know the real reason why Reimon is after you.” Valoran addresses the Queen.
“Please tell me.” Limeneria is eager to learn.
“It's worse than we thought.” Valoran tells her.
