《Azure Chronicles》Chapter 145: Chimes of Melodies Part 7

A deep and disheartened sigh escaped from Lola as she watched Kurai's concert. She pushed herself off the booth's bannister, forcing herself backwards and plopping onto her tails. Resting her head against tails, Lola gazed up to the ceiling in defeat only for her expression to swap to a confused one as she noticed the shadow magic barrier crawling across and down the ceiling.
"That's new...," Snow mumbled as she stared at the descending shadow magic barrier. Kusana gave Snow a quick glance before gazing up at the ceiling. Kusana darted her eyes around before she widened them in shock as she spotted Zinvalia, particularly the angorthite necklace in her possession. Nola rocked her head from side to side, quietly whistling to the ambient music while Minia was out cold and silently snoring.
"Mother-" Kusana exclaimed. Nola shot her eyes open and sprung up to a straight sitting position when Kusana didn't show any signs of referring to Nola in her usual fashion.
"What's the issue," Nola stated seriously. Kusana pointed to the ceiling of the stadium. Nola floated off the ground and air-dashed over to Kusana and Co. Nola glared upward, spotting Zinvalia, and narrowing her eyes at her.
"You lot wait here," Nola stated. Nola placed her feet on the booth's bannister before kicking off it and launching herself up to the suspended grated walkway.
Zinvalia silently watched the concert while holding her angorthite necklace. As she sensed a suppressed spiritual energy, Zinvalia raised her eyes before swiftly putting the necklace on and sliding it under her shirt. Nola zipped up from below, landing on the walkway with a faint clank, and hovered a bit off the walkway as she kept her focus set on Zinvalia.
"Honestly, it's almost like you and your family are trying to hinder master's mission," Zinvalia complained, her voice slightly modified by her white fox mask, as she turned to face Nola. Nola smirked as she raised her fists.
"That saves me the trouble of figuring out if you're with that Kukosalami guy," Nola remarked.
"It's Kukorama," Zinvalia stated as she got into a combative stance.

"Is that so...," Nola said with a playful understanding tone as she tilted her head, causing Zinvalia to squint her eyes at Nola.
"You don't care what his name is do you?" Zinvalia uttered unamusedly. Nola chuckled as she rubbed the back of her head.
"What? No, I totally care, I mean I understand the trouble and tribulations of coming up with names... although that's mainly because my sister won't shut up about her damn cat candies franchise," Nola uttered with a seemingly friendly tone and demeanour. Zinvalia mentally froze at hearing cat and candies next to each other, making her mind instantly go to Candy Cats.
"Now that I think about it, I overheard that Kurai mention a potential new skin Rocker Cat-," Zinvalia uttered mentally before abruptly jumping back as Nola's hand darted out at her from a mini D.P. portal.
"Careful now I almost got your doodad," Nola said smugly as she pulled her arm out of the D.P. portal next to her before both portals closed. Zinvalia narrowed her eyes under her mask and mentally groaned in frustration. Zinvalia clenched her fist before pulling her arm and leg back. Nola punched her fists together in response to Zinvalia.
"Ready when you are," Nola remarked confidently. Zinvalina didn't audibly respond and tightened her fist.
"Don't let her provoke you, I just need to wait for the shadow barrier to fully set before starting Master's plan," Zinvalia uttered. She gave Nola another look before amusedly chuckling at seeing Nola's ears.
Stolen novel; please report.
"Something fun-". Zinvalia immediately dashed at Nola, and Nola threw up her arms to guard. Zinvalia threw a punch but, before reaching Nola, Xinvalia suddenly teleported away. Nola darted her head to the side and glanced behind herself as Zinvalia reappeared on a walkway on the other side of the stadium. While staring at Zinvalia, Nola couldn't stifle the smug and ticked-off grin which adorned her face.
"Moving away won't help you, you know," Nola stated with an aggressively joyful tone as her eyes flickered a silvery grey for a second. She spun around in the air like a tornado and hurled a barrage of reining winds knives across the stadium. Zinvalia flexed her arms and clasped them together before blasting a wave of purple flames filled with golden lightning-looking veins coursing through them.

"So her azure ability is cursed flames," Nola uttered as the cursed flames engulfed the reining wind knives, assimulating their energy into their being and increasing their size. Nola amusedly huffed, snapping her fingers and creating a wide D.P. portal. The D.P. portal swirled over the surging cursed flames and swiftly warped the flames away. Xinvalia's hands twitched as she clicked her tongue and lowered her arms. Nola swiftly raised a hand before waving it back and forth, goading Zinvalia to come at her.
"It's no fun if you run away," Nola remarked before sticking her tongue out. With a snapping noise roaring through her brain, Zinvalia could feel her blood begin to boil with the eyes of her fox mask lighting up and glowing a bright purple.
Meanwhile, Zalroth axe-kicked the insect heathen with a pale golden wave of energy coursing through its body. As the energy washed through it, the heathen became desaturated and crumbled away. While he dropped to the flying airship carrier, Kyubi dramatically clung to Zalroth's head as he remarked to Kyubi that his head might explode if she held on any tighter in a joking manner. Using wind mana to break his fall, Zalroth landed next to Chronia as she was talking to Zuno and Solus.
"Done already huh?" Solus remarked before two of Solus' spirit partners poked their heads out of Solus' kitsune tails.
(Tsarina is a shadow spirit with the appearance of a nine-year-old child vampire[sharp teeth, two large fangs, and black bat wings]; she has long black hair with two heart-shaped pigtails, glowing purple eyes, pale white skin, teeth, two large fangs and black bat wings, a yellow and lime spirit pact mark [a ring with a spiked scythe and a spider-themed cloak inside of it] on the back of her left hand)
(Tsarina is wearing a black scale-patterned dress with a snake-head-looking hood)
(Eusia is a super short teen-sized/looking anthro cat spirit; she has long spikey muted pink hair, deep purple eyes with feline pupils, her whole body is covered in fuzzy pale pink fur with her belly section being an almost white pink circle, a black cat nose, six cat whiskers, cat paw shaped hands and feet, and a foot long cat tail, and a yellow and lime spirit pact mark [a ring with heart, spade, diamond, and club insignias on the rim of the ring like a compass)
(Eusia is wearing... um... a scale pattern on her tail)
"We could have done it way faster than you!" Tsarina and Eusia proclaimed brattily. The duo's outburst made Solus cover his face and defeatedly sigh. Two sets of hands reached out from Solus' tails and dragged the duo back into Solus' tails. Zalroth and Chronia amusedly chuckled, making Solus blush even more and groan in embarrassment.
"How am I considering, going to that concert just to avoid this embarrassment," Solus grumbled mentally as he turned towards the side of the flying airship carrier. Solus silently walked towards the side of the airship, his body becoming enveloped in white spirit mana; the spirit mana exploded off his body as he jumped off the airship, revealing Solus' transformed state.
(Solus now has pure white hair and eyes. He is also wearing in place of his previous attire: a blond cotton turtle-neck shirt with ripped-off sleeves, trailing white bandages wrapped around his fists, white fighting gi trousers, and golden getas)
"He certainly takes more after Tzo-Tzo when he was Solus' age," Zalroth remarked.
"The getting embarrassed by family members or the incapability to not run away for said embarrassment, because if it's the latter-" Chronia managed to say before all of Zalroth's kitsune tails flattened her. Chronia's faint triumphant giggles echoed from beneath the tails, making Zalroth roll his eyes and mildly chuckle at her. Zalroth slowed his chuckling, glancing upwards and staring at the crack in existence as Chronia crawled her way out from under his kitsune tails.
