Lin says "I would still like to hear it. It would be interesting to compare it to our music."

"Sadly, I can only play a few songs for you. As I said, it wasn't really my kind of music. The only reason I know some is because it was used in movies that I liked."

Lin says "That's fine. I will listen to whatever you have."

"Good. I want to dance some faster dances with you."

Lin says "Faster dances? That sounds interesting, I can't wait!"

"I'll introduce you to everything I can remember in the soulscape tonight."

In answer, Lin pulls my head down and kisses me as we continue dancing. When Lin kisses me I could swear that I hear the sound of multiple people grinding their teeth. A glance shows that the majority of the single men are glaring at me with hatred in their eyes.

However, it doesn't phase me at all and I don't let it interfere with my dancing. As long as Lin is happy, nothing else matters, especially not a bunch of idiots. I could wipe all of them out with a single spell, but that would disrupt the ball.

Still, it is fun to think about it, but I quickly drop the thought before Lin notices. Luckily, she is having so much fun dancing that she isn't paying any attention to her surroundings. Normally, that would be dangerous, but with me here nothing is going to happen.

In fact, if anyone dares to disturb us right now, they would have no chance of survival. Luckily, it doesn't seem like anyone is going to be quite that stupid. The youngsters don't seem brave enough to do anything more than glare at me.

After a couple of more songs Lin is ready for another break to catch her breath. I may have enhanced her body, but she is still a mage and her stamina isn't the best. As we are getting drinks, Almort once again approaches us.

"What now?"

Almort says "Before you leave, can you please speak with the council members?"

"What for?"

Almort says "It will just look good for them if you do."

"More politics. I suppose I can do that much."

Almort says "Thank you!"

"Lin, how are you doing?"

Lin says "I think I can manage a couple of more songs. Then I will be ready to leave."

"Alright."

Lin and I return to the dance floor and Lin manages four more songs before she calls it quits. After that, we wander around the hall to talk to all of the council members. Once I have spoken to all of the council members we leave the ball and return to our suite.

As soon as we enter the suite I notice that the crates have been changed out. However, I will worry about that in the morning, right now I don't feel like enchanting. Instead, I open a soulscape and invite everyone, but instead of a theater I create a nightclub.

When Myria and Brightfire look confused I explain that I will be introducing Lin to music from my world. Since both of them are curious, they join us inside the club while the kids go play. I fill the club with illusions of people from my memories so the girls can see what the atmosphere was like.

It should also help Lin if she can see how to dance to this type of music. Brightfire finds herself a place to sit and then she just watches and listens. Both Lin and Myria join me on the dance floor, but they have some trouble adapting to the new type of dancing.

However, I am smart enough not to say anything and just give them time to get used to it. Then again, it is not like there are specific dance moves that you have to follow. That is part of why they are having trouble adapting, it is different from what they are used to.

Myria actually has an easier time than Lin, she hasn't really danced to this world's music. In fact, this might be the first time she has ever danced, but I don't want to ask. If it is, asking might bring up bad memories for her and I don't want to do that.

"What do you think of the music?"

Lin says "It is strange, but I think I like it. I doubt I could listen to it while standing still, it makes me want to move my body."

Myria says "This isn't what I was expecting. I thought it would be more like the sounds at the beginning and end of the anime."

"Some of it will be, there are tons of different types of music and these are just the ones I can remember."

Lin says "How much music was there in your world?"

"I don't know for sure, there was a lot that I didn't listen to. There were probably hundreds of thousands of songs."

Myria says "That many?! How did people have the time to come up with all of that?"

"Keep in mind that in my world there was no magic. Meaning there were no beasts or monsters threatening to eat people. All we really had to worry about was other humans, that and bills."

Lin says "Bills? What do you mean?"

"In my world nothing is free. You had to pay for a place to live, food, and anything else you wanted. In order to pay for things you had to have a job and that was where most people got their stress."

Myria says "It sounds really complicated."

"It was, but at the same time it wasn't. Growing up there, it all seemed like that was how it had to be and so you got used to it."

Lin says "I understand. It sounds like life in the magic kingdom, just more developed. Wait, why did the music stop?!"

"Sorry, that was the last song that I could remember."

Lin says "It's not enough! I want more!"

"Sorry. Like I said, I wasn't a huge music guy. I listened to other songs, but not enough to completely memorize them."

Lin says "I still want to dance. Start them over, please?"

"Sure."

We spend the next couple of hours dancing, not that I am complaining. We have a lot of fun, especially as Lin and Myria get better at dancing. After I end the soulscape, Lin follows through on her promise to test the shapeshifting limits of our outfits.

We both have tons of fun before Lin ends up exhausted and falls asleep. After she falls asleep, I enter into meditation and work on my core using one of the new techniques. It turns out that the book was correct, as soon as I switch techniques my progress jumps up.

Now that I know multiple techniques I shouldn't have any more problems. Finally, I will be able to progress my core and get stronger, not to mention finding out what's next. Hopefully, I will also get more evolution points and eventually find out what they are for.
