《Azure Chronicles》Chapter 138: Dreaming Collision

Later that night, Lola deflatedly, yet poutfully, glared at the ceiling of the flying airship carrier's standard bedroom she recided in. Led on the bed, Lola clenched her fist against the top of the bed cover as both the events of Delver's Springs and the battle against the heathen played in her mind. Lola quietly murmured to herself and pounded her fist on the bed cover.

"Why...?"Lola uttered mentally before she rolled onto her side and sighed.

"First, Yozu got his... his wrist broken from protecting me, and second, I ended up messing up the fight with that crystal monster....". Lola rolled onto her face and whined into her pillow. Lola began repeatedly punching her pillow as Yokuza led on a futon beside the bed.

"How'd I end up sleeping on the floor when it's my designated room?" Yokuza muttered before his remark was followed by Lola's abrupt muffled snoring, "At least she's not attacking the bed anymore.". Yokuza closed his eyes and let out a sigh as he tried to block out the snoring; however, Lola's snoring disappeared a bit too quickly for Yokuza's liking.

Yokuza worried Lola had woken up again. Yokuza lazily opened his eyes before immediately widening them upon seeing a pitch-black sky with various-shaped azure blue crystals floating upwards to the sky. Yokuza swung himself up to an upward sitting position and darted his head around to see he was inside an azuregate.

"It's one thing after another.". Yokuza glanced around once again with a bit more care and spotted a trio of familiar green kitsune tails. Yokuza pushed himself to his feet and sauntered across the water surface-looking floor to Lola. As he drew closer, Yokuza could hear Lola quietly muttering to herself.

"You're so stupid, Lola. You couldn't even beat opponents Papa and Pama believed you could beat," Lola grumbled as she tossed an azure crystal into a stack of other crystals, making them fling apart from the collision. Yokuza crouched next to Lola and watched her continue flicking the crystal shapes into each other.

"Mind if I have a go?" Yokuza asked. Lola nodded and handed Yokuza a crystal. Yokuza flicked the crystal, hitting multiple other crystals and getting a combo of five. Lola's tails playfully swayed from side to side as she looked over at Yokuza.

"You're pretty good-". Lola's tails froze before she sporadically jumped back from Yokuza in shock, "W-what are you doing here?". Yokuza shrugged as he stood up.

"Beats me, but this is an azuregate, right?" Yokuza asked. Lola slowly lowered her arms and tails as she soothed her nerves.

"Well, it's Papa's....". Lola squinted at Yokuza before she walked in circles around him. Yokuza watched Lola walk circles around him and repeatedly prodded him.

"You're the real Yozu, right?" Lola asked hesitantly.

"Yeah? Why wouldn't I be?".

"This is why.". Lola picked one of the azure crystals up. She channelled pale pink and golden qi into the crystal. Lola tossed the crystal away before it began to multiply. The crystals continued to multiply before connecting together and forming into a 3D memory. The crystals glowed before turning into a scene of a young adult Zalroth and a young adult Lurioku standing in the middle of the Dusty Dunes desert.

(Lurioku is an alkorian with white horns around his head in the shape of a crown; he has hip-low purple hair, maroon pink eyes, and tanned skin)

"You mistook me for a-," Yokuza said before Lola placed her one of her tails in his face as she shushed him. The 3D memory sprung to life as the memory of Zalroth and Lurioku sprung to life.

"Is now really the time?" Zalroth(YA) asked unamusedly. Lurioku(YA) twirled The Hakai-no-Michi on the tip of his finger like a basketball.

"Indeed, you still owe me a battle after skipping on our last one," Lurioku stated. Zalroth groaned as he rubbed his eyes.

"We both know if I hadn't gone, Nolazir and Lily would've plunged that city into a civil war, and you even said you weren't mad about me going.". Lurioku huffed amusedly as he readied his blade.

"That's the thing, Zalroth, I lied," Lurioku uttered before he flexed his eyes, making his eyes turn a glowing purple and his pupils into white skulls. Zalroth sighed as he pulled The Crescent Moon Staff out from his kitsune tails before he retracted them.

"Good grief, you're such a battle... enthusiast," Zalroth uttered.

"You should learn to enjoy the joy of friendly combat," a female outside the view of the memory stated. Zalroth sighed as he looked at the person off-screen.

"Don't encourage him, Lily; this situation is your fault after all," Zalroth said in a snarky manner as Lily cheekily giggled at Zalroth. Zalroth looked forward again before closing his eyes. Green chakra bursted out from Zalroth's body and completely coated his body in a fur-like armour from the neck down. A dark green ankle-low chakra cloak which splits apart at the bottom to look like seven kitsune tails formed on his shoulders.

"Just know I don't intend to hold back, Edgelord," Zalroth remarked as he opened his eyes, now a glowing green with white heart-shaped pupils and dark green scleras. Before the fight began, the duo froze mid-movement before the memory turned back to azure crystal shapes. The crystals bursted apart leaving only the original crystal behind. Yokuza was speechless at what he saw while Lola was happy at how long the 3D memory lasted.

"I feel like I saw something I shouldn't have...," Yokuza uttered. Lola's ears perked up, and she made a confused huh noise at Yokuza.

"Whado you mean?".

"I dunno; I just feel like your dad would've mentioned him being the god of life and creation at some point."

"I mean, he isn't anymore, so why would he?" Lola asked.

"Fair point.". The two stood in silence before Lola looked up at Yokuza.

"Isn't this the part where you'd be shocked about what I just said?".

"I can do conjecture, Lola.".

"Huh, conjet-sure?" Lola mumbled in a stutter.

"It's not important... so can you get us out of here?" Yokuza asked.

"Of course... but.".

"But?".

"I wanna watch, Papa, fight the first death god first... for research," Lola uttered shyly, leaving Yokuza at a loss for words once again. Lola shyly rummaged through the cluster of azure crystal shapes while humming the tune Zalroth and Chronia hum.
