《Birds Of A Feather - V01》Chapter 028: Sent To Execute [Part 5]

It's Not Everyday I Get To Play As Ghost
I observe their movements from the shadows. They seem to have notice the blood trail my dear Mister had left behind.
*Bam!*
They waltz inside the church, kicking the fragile door open. That weak kick from two of the gangsters causes for the whole church to shake a bit.
“Can you fucking stop that?” It's dark but that's Yellowhead's voice. “Go use your damn flashlights. It's too dark here.”
They're very calm in this eerie surrounding. Is that from confidence or complacency?
Whatever.
Time for a little mischievous fun.
I grab an old, dusty book from the corner of the altar and toss it across the room.
*Thud!*
The echoing sound startles them, causing a brief moment of confusion, “““!!”””
“Fuck!”
“Ah shit! Who the hell is that?!”
While his subordinates are being noisy, Yellowhead seems calm, although he was the one who screamed first, “Shut the fuck up! That could be that son of a bitch! Find him! He's wounded.”
“““Yes boss!””” the group of lackeys shouts in sync.
As they investigate, I slip into the shadows, giggling softly, “Fufufufu...” Oh come on, it's pretty fun to giggle this way.
I light up an old curtain in the window using a match that I brought with me. The dried up and dirty fabric combusted almost instantaneously.
*Fwoosh!*
“!”
Good thing I am agile. The flames couldn't even touch my hair.
With the unexpected burst of flame, the boys are startled. “Who's there?” one of them mutters nervously.
I imitate a ghostly whisper, saying, “You should leave this place.. You don't belong here...” Their eyes widen in fear.
They scramble back to their boss, their bewilderment visible. No, it's not visible. It's too dark here. But they're mumbling nervously so it somehow gave me that image.

Yellowhead, holds his gun, ready to shoot, “F-Fucking cowards! There's no such thing as ghosts! Someone put out the fire and the others... Find that mothefucker! Someone else is here!”
“B-But boss—”
*Smack*
“Fuck you!” he smacks one of his lackeys. “Get moving or I'll peel you alive.” He sounds eager to catch you, mister.
“Boss, calm down,” that's Fatty's voice.
“I am calm, Francis!” Yellowhead says so. “All of you disperse. Find our target and whoever this fucking ghost is!”
“Fuck... Yes boss!”
The lackeys begin to move. They form separate groups and start searching around the church. Despite the amount of flashlights they have, they can't light up the whole place. After all, although it is not that big, but it's at least bigger than an average chapel.
Their anxious footsteps are echoing inside this dome. And while they're silently searching for me and him, I'll take them down one by one.
They're all moving separately anyway.
“W-Wait— I'm seeing something on the altar..” whoever this is, whispers to his partner. “It looks like a corpse covered on a blanket...”
“Don't fucking scare me.. T-that's just probably the mantle of th— shit! Did it just move?”
Yes. It's me after all. Dear Mister is on the floor behind the altar.
“Fuck! Check it out..” his partner says nervously.
“Why me..?!” he screams softly, obviously, he doesn't want his boss to hear him complaining.
“W-well, I-I-I'm the one holding the flashlight..”
“Fu.. fuck you..! Give it to me then—”
“STOP GOSSIPING YOU SONS OF A BITCH!” Fatty, screams from the back.
““!”” It startles the two.
“Fucking coward,” the one holding the flashlight says so. “Watch my back, you pussy.”
I feel him getting closer. And as soon as he touches the mantle...
“Boo!” I sit up jerkily.

“!” he is startled. He drops the flashlight to the ground.
*Thud*
And when I am about to punch him, he drops to the floor.
*Thud!*
Err.. he was shocked to the point of unconsciousness.
“Fuck!” his partner panics. “There's someon—!”
*Crack!*
Before he could finished speaking, I smack him using a plank of wood I found around here. It was pretty fragile, so he shouldn't be dead... I think, fufufufufu.
“The altar!” Yellowhead screams an order.
Everyone points their lights at me. While covered on such a dusty mantle, I speak weirdly, “Gooo hoome~!”
““Ghost!””
Fufu.
“No, it's a human, idiots! Capture him!” Yellowhead slaps someone's nape.
“Oopsie,” I jump to the side, moving away from the spotlight. I then hide myself in the dark.
“Shit! He's gone.”
“You idiots! Find him now!!” Yellowhead is angry.
“““Yes, boss!”””
Playtime is over. I throw away a plank of wood for distraction. When everyone is pointing their lights at it, I begin taking them down one by one.
*Crack*
“Aaaaaaagh! My arm!!”
“Behin—!”
*Smack!*
“Hel—”
*Bam!*
The chaos ensues as I swiftly take advantage of the distraction, incapacitating one gangster after another. The element of surprise seems to be working well.
The remaining lackeys scramble in confusion. I move like a shadow, striking with precision and disappearing back into the darkness.
Yellowhead barks orders, his frustration mounting, “Stick together, you idiots! He can't be far.”
I overhear their plans as they regroup. Time to add a touch of fear.
I find a small rusty bell and shake it rhythmically. Due to the rust, the sound it makes doesn't sound very pleasant nor melodic.
*Cling!*Cling!*Cling!*
The gangsters freeze to this eerie noises I made.
“What the hell is that? Some ghostly shit?” Fatty exclaims nervously.
“Enough of your bullshit! Find him!” Yellowhead demands, but the tension is palpable.
As they cautiously proceed, I unleash another distraction, this time imitating whispers from the confessional booth, “I know what you did... You can't escape your sins...”
Their uneasy glances and hushed conversations reveal the cracks in their tough facades. Yellowhead at least looks determined, though. Or rather, that looks more like anger on his face, fufu.
I cause distraction everywhere to fuck with their mind. I am being efficient as I move to make them believe I'm everywhere. I move like a phantom among the shadows. A misplaced step here, a creaky floorboard there— it all adds to their paranoia.
Suddenly, a flashlight catches me in its beam. Yellowhead grins, thinking he has the upper hand, “Got you, you bitch!”
He sprints as fast as he can towards me, ready to shoot once he position himself.
“Fufu,” giggling, I toss a handful of gravel and small rocks at his feet.
*Clatter*
His overconfident expression turns to panic as he slips and falls, “F... Fuck..”
I seize the opportunity, disarming him before he can react. I kick his hand, which I injured back then, to add insult to injury. Instantaneously, I step on his neck to pin him down.
“Game over, you fucking bastard. I swear to God I'll get my revenge for what you tried to do to my sister in the playground last time,” I whisper with a coarse voice.
“Wha—”
I stomp on his jaw using my heels against it.
*Crack!*
Yellowhead falls unconscious, his jaw cracked open. Such injury will leave a scar that won't heal.
While under the watch of Fatty, and the rest that are still conscious, I sprint out of the church, exiting from the broken door.
