Mermaid Arc: Chapter 3: Negotiations.

Valoran is now inside the throne room of queen Limenria to discuss the manner that Valoran wants to share.

The throne room is a beautiful white with deep blue pearls floating around creating a beautiful scenery with many Mermaid soldiers glancing at Valoran with ill intend as they do not trust him since he's from the land.

Limenria swims up to her throne which is located on top of a ginormous pillar.

“My fellow sisters. Let me introduce to you the King of Magic Valoran Silver. He defeated the Kraken saving many sisters by doing so. As gratitude I will allow him to seek an audience with me and listen to his request, I hope that no one objects.” Limenria announces with a firm tone.

None of the other Mermaids dared to speak for two reasons. One the queen sounded extremely serious which intimidates the Mermaids as for the second reason, Valoran defeating the Kraken and saving the lives of many Mermaid sisters does grant him respect.

“Great with no further objections King Lord, what is it you wish to speak about?” Limenria curiously questions.

“Queen of Magic. First of all thank you for inviting me to your throne room the matter I wish to speak about is to establish an alliance between the land and the sea. We seek the metal mithril and I know that mithril ores are only obtained inside the mouth of giant sea shells.” Valoran explains.

“Your information is correct Magic Lord. Mithril is only obtained by extracting them from the mouth of the giant sea shells however, why should we share them with the likes of you?” Limenria questions.

“Of course I won't ask it for free. Name any price and I will happily pay it in addition we will also provide military and medical aid when asked and finally, I will make sure that you are able to see the surface again without Mermaids needing to fear that they would be kidnapped.” Valoran suggests.

Limenria chuckles at the proposal Valoran laid out.

“Why would we leave the safety of the sea? Do you know how much pain your kind has caused us?” Limenria says with a saddened tone.

Queen of Mermaids. I cannot begin to understand the pain you must have endured over the thousands of years of suffering caused by the land and that is unforgivable. But the land people have changed we no longer seek unnecessary conflicts and wish to co exist with other races. You have my word I will make sure that no one will lay a hand on any Mermaids.” Valoran promises.

“What can you do to ensure that?” Limenria questions with concern.

“I will create a new law that states: If any Mermaids are being harassed, kidnapped and other wise abused, then that would be a major crime punishable by even death.” Valoran answers.

“What are laws good for? For example Murder, Stealing and many more illegal activities take place every day. Just because it's law does not guarantee our safety while being on the surface.” Limenria answers.

“Indeed. Crime takes place everyday even in my Kingdom I haven't been able to eradicate all crime but, I have trusted subordinates that share my goal to create a peaceful Kingdom. I was able to take huge step forward toward that dream by destroying the King of Gods and thus disbanding the evil Worshippers but I still have a long way to go until I can truly call it peaceful.” Valoran replies.

Limenria strokes her chin.

“You have a point by destroying the King of Gods you have helped countless people who were under the Gods oppression and have indeed gotten closer to peace. King of Magic please tell me what you have mind?” Limenria asks.

“I understand that this decision to form an alliance with me is indeed a hard one realising the past drama caused by the surface. I propose this, come with me to visit my Kingdom and see for yourself how peaceful and how people have changed.” Valoran suggests.

“My Lady we must object to this!” A Mermaid calls out from the side.

It was a Mermaid with brown hair with pink strains.

“Greetings Lord of Magic my name is Sestine, and I am the second in command of this Kingdom.” Sestine introduces.

“Greetings to you Sestine, may I ask why you object?” Valoran questions.

“It's my duty to ensure the safety of my Lady going to the surface is dangerous for us Mermaids.” Sestine replies with a sharp tone.

The other Mermaids all agree with Sestine.

“Miss Sestine you show great loyalty to your Lady for worrying about her safety you remind me of my second in command who is just as loyal to me and such loyalty is rare and pressures. I will assure you that on the surface I will not leave her side and ensure her safety although we both know that she requires no such protection.” Valoran replies.

“I will need to think about this King of Magic.” Limenria states.

“Of course I fully understand but before I take my leave I wish to say one final offer I can grant you.” Valoran replies.

“Please state your offer.” Limenria says with anticipation.

“Within my Castle lies bath blessed by the new God King Aldia, thanks to her it has the ability to heal great wounds and in your case even cure your curse.” Valoran explains.

The Mermaids inside the throne room gasp and don't understand what Valoran meant by saying that Limenria is cursed.

“My Lady are you truly cursed?” Sestine questions with worry.

“I'm impressed that you were able to identify the fact that I was cursed.” Limenria says with a slightly shocked tone.

She faces Sestine and the other Mermaids some of them have become so upset that they begin to cry.

“It's true I am cursed and have been for the past 2500 years. 2500 years ago I have met a rather impatient, vengeful and lustful god, he visited me one day explaining that I the queen of Mermaids have the right to become one of his many wives. I of course declined and stated that I would do no such thing and as a result he laid a number of curses upon me one of which makes me feel excruciating physical and mental pain every time I use my power. The second curse which is also a reason I could not visit the surface is that the moment I step foot on land, my body would be destroyed and the race of Mermaids would come to an end.” Limenria explains.

“What terrible fate that God has bestowed upon you. Queen Limenria please listen to me carefully. I understand that you do not want to see the surface because of what has been done to Mermaids in the past, that is something I wish to change but I will not allow some God to destroy your freedom and trap you here for eternity so...believe in my power believe that hope exists for you and the Mermaid race. I assure you before me even the strongest Gods are just ordinary people.” Valoran reassures.

“King of Magic, I believe that I will never be able to forgive the people of the surface for what they have done to my Mermaids, but those people lived thousands of years ago and have long passed, I don't want to blame the people in the present for the mistakes of the past. If you can truly proof that the people have changed over thousands of years then I will agree to this alliance of yours and will supply the surface with mithril.” Limenria explains.

The Mermaids mumble among themselves debating if that was such a great idea.

Sestine begins to speak a few words in order to calm the doubts.

“LISTEN MERMAIDS!” Sestine firmly shouts which at an instant creates total silence and all the Mermaids look toward Sestine and pay her full attention.

“I know that the surface has been cruel but our Queen has found it in her heart to give the people of the surface in this era a chance to correct their mistakes, we must follow our ladies’ words and try to also give the people a chance.”

Limenria has a smile on her face and all the Mermaids are now fully inspired by the words of both Sestine and Limenria.

Valoran also became inspired by these words.

“I assure you that I will not betray this trust that you are giving me, I will show you all the joys of the surface.” Valoran replies.

“King of Magic, how are you planning on dealing with the curses upon Lady Limenria?” Sestine questions with a worried tone.

“I can ease those worries just follow me to the surface.” Valoran replies.

“King of Magic, please help save me.” Limenria pleads.

“I will shall we get going to the surface?” Valoran asks.

“Yes, I please lead the way.” Limenria replies.

Valoran and Limenria along with Sestine and two other Mermaid guards will go to the surface.

“If you are all ready I will cast irum (teleportation magic)” Valoran explains.

“We are ready.” Limenria says eagerly.

Valoran casts (teleportation magic).

They arrive on the surface from where Valoran has dived into the bottom of the sea in the first.

The Mermaid flukes disappear and turn into legs and the Mermaids shrink down to the height of average humans.

The Mermaids have trouble walking.

“It's been a while since I have taken a step...” Limenria chuckles in excitement.

“It’s difficult and takes time getting used to.” Valoran explains to them.

“This is feels wrong...” Sestine remarks.

“We can confirm that Lady Sestine.” The two guards say in agreement.

Queen Limenria has a question to ask Valoran.

“How am I still alive?”

“To be blunt I have destroyed the curse and now you are free-“ Valoran is interrupted by an unexpected and unwanted presence which scares Limenria and the other Mermaids.

“It was only a matter of time before we meet.” Valoran looks toward the presence floating above them...
