《Rage: Crisis / Consequence / ???》This is a POLL
Advertisement
Hey, hopefully you're here to help choose what I write next. But so far a concerning few of YOU are here seeing if the ending of the book is good... ignoring that this a fucking POLL.
Anyway.
I have several prompts and stories already set and just waiting to be made canon, but only so much time and focus to go around. So you'll be helping me pick which you'd like to see made.
Most of these are arguably off genre for the main page, nothing litfic for the most part but not quite alphabet soup either. And yet there are options for those seeking acronyms and portals in their fantasies, so there is a chance.
This poll will be up for a while, so there is time for it to be filled in... I hope. In the mean time I will be writing for and creating a short story anthology-ish thing I'm call my Minimum Length B Sides, which will also host any short works chosen here.
But without much else to say, lets get to what comes next.
Option 1: Rage:Continuation
Literally just keep going with Rage. I left with lots of room to expand into, already have the vast majority of the story set in stone, and arguably a happy ending. The only issue really though is that just before that ending is a wasteland of 'I don't know' so some work is still left. But the main themes and antagonists are all pretty fleshed out. With the main premise boiling down to one word. Legacy. And 50 odd years is plenty of time for that legacy to bear fruit, don't you think. From a cult in his name to heroes who grew up reviling him as nothing but a monster.
Seth will have plenty to deal with when he wakes back up to a new Mega Kadia.

Option 2: Gundam Chimera
A completely original century, a fairly unique setting, a mostly complete three part story, and some serious history to put to task. It's got a resurgent Earth fighting to reclaim its stature in the system from its ascended and more aristocratic outer colonies turned subjugators. It's got proto faster than light technology. It's got a Gundam being recreated from scrap and becoming sentient. It's got bio enhanced and bio engineered pilots made to handle the rigors of outpacing AI point defense weaponry. It's got over engineered nonsense that causes things to go berserk. It could arguably be called anything else but a Gundam fanfiction, but fuck you I'm still gonna.
Option 3: Apocalypse Cloud Atlas (TBD)
If you don't know and or are like me and only ever watched the movie, this is a story that will encompass a large swath of time. It will jump between tales, events, and settings BUT it will be linear in nature rather than what I can only suspect to be the back and forth and way back and way forth of the original novel. The big difference here though will be that this story will only be about one character... and the nuclear apocalypse that basically made him immortal. From Mad Max esque road wars and radioactive desert survival, to bioweapon emptied cities and urban decay, to rebuilding civilization and putting it back to what it used to be, and oh so much more. There is also some room for experimentation here, possibly some different means or narration styles for some eras. But the main will stay, have to live what he will have to do to survive, and time will have its way upon him and all he will build.
Option 4: Talhk: The Demon Lord's Cannon Fodder
You know what I see too much of, Isekai. So why don't we invert that a little. Talhk is a lizard, part of a tribe in the service of the demon lord set on ruling this world... that in turn Talhk really doesn't even know or care for. He's got his own problems after all, like being the weakest member of his tribe by an obscene margin. But accept the call of his lord he will with the rest of the warriors and charge into the fray... right into the invading forces of those chosen otherworlders. All of them bearing power unimaginable and seriously out of bounds. And yet, despite his weakness, he will survive. And formant a counterattack to make these invaders pay. All of them.

Option 5: Plaguebearers
Really more of a short story to add to the B sides. A mutagenic disease suddenly strikes several cities and sends them into chaos, damn near looking like a spore enhanced zombie apocalypse. But... its not all flesh eating shamblers. Because not everyone is equally affected. Most die outright, others suffer in agony and homicidal psychosis, and some... just go on living with their deformed faces breathing out green fog. This is a story about the ones who don't lose their minds, who do what they can to prevent the spread of their disease. And in turn live in near permanent lockdown under military quarantine. And all of them waiting, hoping for a cure. Or for proof that this plague has a final, noncontagious stage.
Option 6: Congratulations! You Killed the Hero!
Isekai, how original. But hey, you've always wanted to escape that mundane life. You really hoped that one day it would happen to you and look what that hope brought you. Oh hey they even give you free starting gear and some stats. And hey... why are they sending you to the arena first? Maybe for training? No that sounds like a lot of people in there to just watch noobs learn to swing a sword. Ah, wait! That guys level 99! Why the hell are they sending you against him? Its because the game was rigged, and you're just exp for someone else farming to turn the big bad to big dust. But... this is supposed to be your story. And you're not going to just let it slip away. No matter how much it cost this world.
Option 7: Designate :: Alea
Somewhat short so far, but definitely the niche pick here. A Battletech fanfic that's definitely none canon, but certainly untapped on the platform. A... well... its better to just call them a person because they most certainly have no memories or a body to call their own. They wake up to a world of high-tech firepower, a custom suit of overly suped-up power armor, and a mission programed into their brain to defend their armory with their life. Little more than a brain in a jar set to take on 'Mechs as big as buildings, and Mechwarriors hell bent on raiding that cache of Lostech for one hell of a payday. And oh boy will it be full of technical specs and jargon that will make your head spin, but oh how sweet it will feel to know it by the end.

Guerdon
The sheer vastness of the planes of reality meant that if a combination of laws is stable enough, then it probably exists. The protagonist encounters one such stranger than fiction world that he has a hard time wrapping his head around. He is left alone in an Alien Reality. To him survival isn't the most important after all that he had been through, but he refuses defeat in his pursuit to understand the strange reality he finds himself in. Join this journey of his new story in finding out the answers and secrets of this world. I like this Genre to put it bluntly but I've always found that illogical 'Science' and flawed laws of the world, typical in these stories. So, I've decided to fix that. I have tried my best to make weirdness make sense in this World filled with Magic. Short of simulating them to verify, the laws of this new world should make some reasonable sense and will be consistent (As much as I humanely can keep it that way). This might mean my story might vary in it's progression speed but as a compensation, I promise to have a lot more sensible Cliffhangers if I must put them in. Also, I'm not a big fan of over using vocabulary when telling a story. So, My Language will be very unsophisticated. Hope that's not a putoff. So, Enjoy your reading!
