《Azure Chronicles》Chapter 133: Spelunking Concluded

A meek exhale reverberated through every inch and crevice of Lola's mind as she and the others exited The Heart of Wonders in its entirety. The entourage walked onto a large floating piece of debris before Replica turned towards The Heart of Wonders and raised her arms; The Heart of Wonders shook in response to Replica's arm raise, and it gradually began to shrink.

Lola watched the shrinking Heart of Wonders before she slumped her kitsune ears and peered over at Yokuza. Yokuza was staring at his now non-broken right hand, but he felt a dark/thick energy wafting in his direction. Yokuza threw his gaze around in an attempt to locate the source of the dark/thick energy; however, he couldn't locate even a trace of the emanator of the energy, but he did notice Lola having a glum and sulky frown on her face.

"It's not fair...," Lola whined as she crouched to her knees and wrapped her kitsune tails around her body. Yokuza itched the rim of his ear and stared at Lola's pouty face as Lola grumbled to herself.

"I would ask what's unfair... but I have a feeling it has something to do with me," Yokuza uttered. Lola huffed and retracted her head into her sphere-shaped mass of tail fur.

"Dummy," Lola exclaimed from somewhere within her tails. Yokuza closed his eyes and cocked his head to the side with confusion, and bewilderment etched onto his face.

"Now I'm just confused...," Yokuza uttered as Lola's ball of tail fur rolled up Yokuza's back and head, with Yokuza being none the wiser as Lola settled on top of his head like a hat. Yokuza rubbed his forehead as he felt Yumi and Sapphire scale his body and cling to his arms. The Heart of Wonders fully shrunk down to the size of a pure white five cm3 cube with a pale golden heart on each of the cube's faces.

"Phew... glad that's over with," Zalina exhaustedly remarked as she raised a hand and grabbed the Heart of Wonders. Zalina strolled over to Yokuza and stored the Heart of Wonders in Lola's mass of tail fur before walking around in front of Yokuza.

"Be sure to let Solus and Nebula know you have Sylvie's birthday present and help them with the wrapping, okay?" Zalina requested. Lola popped her head out from her mass of tail fur with a pouty expression.

"Oookaay, Pama," Lola grumbled. Zalina lifted herself off the ground using her tails and patted Lola on the head, making Lola reluctantly purr in the process. Zalina used her tails to pounce herself over Yokuza, somersaulted over everyone and landed in front of the group.

"Alright, everyone; let's meet up with the others, and so I, I mean we, can get out of here," Zalina instructed as she winked at Nola. Nola defeatedly yawned floated past the others, and flew next to Zalina.

"Fine...," Nola grumbled as she raised a hand and conjured a circular Dimensional Portals portal. Nola swiftly flew into the portal, followed by everyone else aside from Replica who cheerfully waved to everyone as the portal closed.

"For shame... I wished to talk to them a little longer," MSC Zalroth uttered as he landed next to Replica while MSC Chronia had all her arms wrapped around his distended chest section.

"Sorry, Senior Nano, if I had known I would have tried to make them stay," Replica said as she bowed to MSC Zalroth.

"Don't fret it. You were only doing as instructed by Master Zalroth, but... Nai do you mind?" Nano said as he felt MSC Chronia increase the tightness of her triple bear hug.

"But we were separated for five seconds longer than I'm used to. So, I've gotta fix this imbalance~," Nai uttered with a lovey-dovey tone as she further increased the strength of her bear hugs. Nano remained stoically silent and glanced over at Valina, on Nano's shoulder, as she told him about another conflict Nano needed to deal with.

Later, as the sun began setting behind the horizon, Lola somberly sighed as she, Sapphire, Yumi, and Prima sat in the pink metal pull-along cart. Yokuza pulled the pull-along cart behind himself through the halls of the flying airship carrier. Sapphire and Yumi dropped high-tech mini-floating traffic cones along the corridor before the cones hovered over to the walls of the hallway. Yokuza walked past Jokel and the other kids as they all held onto mini bumper cars and remote controls with a screen for the mini bumper cars.

"Alright, the race track is set," Prima stated as Yokuza parked the pull-along cart opposite Jokel and the other kids. The Zulcrestus sisters climbed out of the pull-along cart and placed their floating mini bumper cars on the floor, followed by the other kids swiftly doing the same. The kids neatly lined up the bumper cars before retreating back to the wall.

"Top five places get two servings of the sundae instead of one!" Destiny proclaimed before she pressed the button of the box next to her. The box's circular beeped and flashed through shades of reds to yellows; the light flashed green, and its horn blared before all the mini bumper cars sped off down the makeshift race track.

Lola lazily watched the mini bumper cars zip around the corner, and Lola sighed as she allowed her mass of tail fur to flatten out and cover the entirety of the pull-along cart. Yokuza glanced down at Lola as she continued to sigh; he rolled his eyes and sat down next to the pull-along cart.

"Aren't you going to participate in the mini-race thing?" Yokuza asked.

"I'm not in the mood," Lola grumbled as she sunk her head a little into her tail fur. Yokuza rested his chin on his fist and pondered what he should do as Callie's words rang through his brain.

"If a girl's upset, then it definitely has something to do with an insecurity," the memory version of Callie said.

"Are you sure, creator?" the memory version of Yokuza asked. Memory Callie frowned at Yokuza.

"Absolutely," Memory Callie uttered sternly as she pointed a small gold stick with a circular magnet on the end of it at Yokuza.

"I see... ...mother," Memory Yokuza uttered sheepishly. Memory Callie looked away and giddily smiled as she placed the golden magnet pointer in Memory Yokuza's hand. Yokuza's consciousness returned to the present, and he glanced back at the pouty Lola.

"Is it about the Rubik's Cube puzzle thing?" Yokuza asked. Lola's ears perked up, and she shot up to a standing position with shock ruling over her visual expression.

"How did you know... wait, I mean nooo...," Lola blurted out before she trailed off into an embarrassed whimper. Yokuza tilted his head to the side and gave Lola a smug smile, which made Lola swing her head in the opposite direction of Yokuza.

"Maybe...," Lola muttered shyly as she sat down and tapped the tips of her index fingers together. Lola continually rubbed the tips of her index fingers before she noticed Yokuza dangling the golden magnet pointer in front of her face.

"What's that?" Lola asked as she raised her hands, and Yokuza dropped the golden magnet pointer into Lola's hands.

"It's a tool my mother made to help put the Rubik thing back together," Yokuza explained. Lola mumbled to herself as she stood up, grabbed one of her kitsune tails and shook it about until the bare-bone Rubik's Cube puzzle box and all the Rubik's Cube pieces fell out. The pieces landed on the pull-apart cart, and Lola sat down next to the pieces before pointing the golden magnet pointer at the pieces. Lola paused and squinted her eyes at the pieces and golden magnet pointers before she looked up at Yokuza.

"... help?" Lola mumbled as she held the golden magnet pointer out to Yokuza. Yokuza contently smirked as he had Lola hand him the golden magnet pointer. Yokuza scooted closer to Lola and showed her how to use the golden magnet pointer as the mini bumper cars zoomed past them.
