CHAPTER 208: Power Outburst
It had been a few minutes since the clash began, and Jay had used up most of his Spirit Energy reserve from the continuous usage of Pseudo-Speed Energy.
The unbelievably hard exterior made it hard to deal any substantial damage to the giant monster. If that wasn't enough, the injuries they managed to inflict healed just as quickly as they appeared.
Even with a damage output of a Tier-4 Mid-Phase, Jay could at most deal 4-inch deep injuries on the Plasma Predator.
Jay never attacked twice in the same spot to trace the thumb-sized octahedron core hidden somewhere in its body.
However, the hopes of finding it slimmed down as time flew.
Likewise, the Plasma Predator was in a similar pinch when dealing with Jay and Rex, which was why it moved its attention onto Felarial and Seath.
It went after Seath, and he survived the giant monster's relentless attacks by glitching through Spacetime Continuum, but he couldn't do so much longer with his limited Spirit Energy.
Meanwhile, Rex and Felarial closed in and kept attacking the Plasma Predator to take it off Seath's back, but the other party completely ignored them.
Their attacks barely broke past its defence, and the injuries dealt were borderline non-existent, which further healed as soon as they were inflicted.
Jay didn't join them and stood by the side and drank a blue liquid potion before closing his eyes.
What he drank just then was a pulp extract of Grade-3 Spirit Fruits. Although using the liquid extract was a waste of resources, the consumption was much easier.
Jay's Spirit Energy went from below 10% to full in one go. The amount he ingested was just enough to avoid Spirit Poisoning from the overintake.
If he were to consume any more Spirit Fruits in the next couple of hours, that would only backfire on him.

With his Spirit Energy full to the brim, Jay began to use the most powerful element in his arsenal.
Thunder Miasma began to manifest before enveloping his body over the Pseudo Speed Energy. Jay willed the ink-black fog to compress into a thick layer on top of the Azure Energy.
Jay hadn't used Thunder Miasma Field from the very beginning for two reasons. The first being how fatal it could be to anyone other than Jay and those in his Party.
If he were to spread out the Thunder Misama Field, it would be no different to killing his allies and enemies alike.
The second reason being the likelihood of forcing the Plasma Predator to intervene in the clash between the armies.
With those in mind, Jay chose not to use Thunder Miasma to form a field around him. Instead, he intended to use it in conjunction with the Pseudo-Speed Energy.
Back when he learned of the range limitations of the Thunder Miasma and the drawbacks of using it as a Field, he assigned MJ to analyse the properties of the Penta-Element.
MJ came up with a few ways, but none of them could bring the damage output needed to deal with the Plasma Predator until the Pseudo-Speed Energy came into the equation.
When MJ was experimenting with them both in the Virtual Space, he noticed the Energy could accelerate the grey thunderbolts within the Miasma to move at an overwhelming pace, further amplifying the damage they could deal.
However, the issue lay in the extravagant Spirit Energy consumption and the initial pickup time needed to get them both to work together. Still, the much-needed higher damage output outweighed the cons.
Jay went with it and began by ensuring a fine gap separating the Energy and the Penta-Element since combining them recklessly would destabilise them both.

Once the Thunder Miasma was compressed into a thick layer, he inched it towards the Pseudo-Speed Energy until there was no gap between them.
Jay made sure they didn't mix with one another and only brought them into contact.
The desired output came into fruition as the fingernail-sized grey thunderbolts moved along the fog layer at outrageous speeds.
They moved so fast that the ink-black fog layer seemed to have a grey shade to it.
The Azure Energy was barely visible with the thick layer of Thunder Miasma blanketing Jay all over. Even his facial features were barely visible.
His Spirit Energy burned like never before, leaving him around one-third minute before his reserve could become desolate.
Jay wasted no more and dashed towards the giant monster, who relentlessly continued to attack Seath.
Once he was close enough, Jay leapt high, aiming to punch the monster right on the head.
It seemed to sense danger and turned around before shielding itself with an arm at the last moment.
As soon as Jay's fist landed on the giant monster's forearm, the flow of heavily accelerated Thunderbolts came to a halt, causing an explosive impact at the point of contact.
The explosion carried nothing fancy or a massive burst of fire except for a deafening sound wave, followed by a shockwave bubble.
The sound was so abnormally loud that it reached every corner of the Tournament Island.
The shockwave bubble collided with the Colosseum walls, spreading cracks across the massive structure.
Seath escaped being thrown into the Colosseum walls by glitching himself.
Felarial thrust his shield deep into the ground and hid behind it, whereas Rex tried to outrun the shockwave but was hit by it as he was exiting the Colosseum entrance, sending him out of the bounds of the Colosseum.
As for Jay, he, too, was sent flying. Not by the shockwave but by the explosive impact from his punch.
Although it was his own attack, the impact rebound had sent Jay flying a hundred meters before he cushioned his fall with a body roll and dug his left arm into the ground to counter the excess momentum.
As soon as his body came to a halt, he once again raced towards the abomination of a monster despite his right arm quivering uncontrollably from the impact.
A trace of fear and uncertainty crept onto its previous confident face. The arm beneath its elbow regrew halfway already, but that didn't curb the anxiety growing from within.
